  • Doesnt saying partner...still out yourself? Straight people rarely use partner. We both just call each other girlfriend but that's just us.

  • @placentaparty well, i suppose it's where you are from. I would say that a lot of straight people say partner...at least a bunch that i know :) I don't like to be called gf bc i don't identify as female....i am genderqueer.

  • teehee "male and/or female" maybe both? i feel like that a lot of the time. like it's weird for me to say FTM but much more comfortable than saying i am a girl. that, i definitely am not. am i a boy? not really, i think i'd truly be most comfortable in a third-gender role but our Binary-bound culture outside of the LGBTQI world [so, mainly closed-minded Heterosexuals] has a hard time identifying PEOPLE unless they either appear to "FIT" into an M or F category. stupid boxes!!! fuck em all...

  • Why not out yourself??

  • i call my significant other, my girlfriend. If i called her my partner people would probably know that we are a lesbian couple. i always have to tell people that she is my gf in a romantic way. it's funny when i introduce her as my girlfriend and we get intimate the person that i just told is like "oh you guys are dating!" I feel that by calling her my gf makes me feel equal to heterosexual couples

  • By gender queer, do you mean that you feel transgendered? or that you are just encompassing of all gender? Like, are you comfortable in your female bodiedness? Or it 's just the mental part of things? I just wondered!

  • i get it now! :]

  • ur so random. i officially love ur channel haha :)

  • AmAzInG ending :) and loved loved loved your points

  • love your eyes :D

  • omg. the hand in part 1. ... the hannnnnd.

  • thanks for this video, you've made me to think about relationship and gender and stuff, that's what i like about informative videos like yours, love between a straight couple or between a lesbian or gay couple, dependance, the control, the tasks, the rols, etc It makes me to think about all the whole but also about the details about a good and healthy relationship..have a great day,you inspires!!

  • ou are very welcome. it's nice to know that people get something out of these videos :) thank for watching :)

  • totally agree with everything. i try to get people to realize this on a daily basis. whatev. love the dance at the end and that fact that random people are just casually walking by as you do that. :)

  • awesome, smart vid! ps the dancing rocked lol

  • RANDOM hand at 1:30...

I LOVE the jig at the end ..

and I think that EVERYTHING that you said made TOTAL sense ..

    You are great ! :)

  • i love you chris

  • you made some great points, ive never really thought about this before :D

aaand the ending was classic haha

  • So true, my partner and i have been together for over two years. Awhile ago i introduced her as my gf and boy was she pissed. By using the term gf she thought that i implicated that we were only dating. I've since then have always introduced as my partner.

  • My girlfriend actually felt the opposite. She didn't like it when I first called her my partner. She felt that by using the word "partner",I was trying to be too modest about us being together...Well,something like that haha.

We all have different feelings about this stuff though.I personally don't care. But now I'm afraid of being judged by people who only use the word "partner",haha.

    [/rambling]

  • I've been with my 'boyfriend' for seven years and when I tell people that they ask "Is he your fiance?" and I am all like 'Would I not have said that if he was". I totally believe if you have been with your significant other for a long time and you call them your boyfriend or girlfriend people judge no matter the sexual preference. I've never thought about calling my boyfriend partner but it's truly a good way to refer to him as and I am going to do just that. Thanks for sharing!

  • breakin it down yoooo

    LOL

  • your handsome ;)

  • why thank you!

  • lmao. xD That was great.

  • lmfao!!!!

I loved that dance!!! Woosss. I want su m of that.

    It was gooood. Haha. Jk.

    You're awesome.♥

  • howdie partner ;D

    hfdhgkldhfklgdjghdjkfhg.

  • HA HA HA best ending ever!!

  • You seem like a very nice and funny person to hang out with! I just love people who dare to be themselves no matter what. I loved that you actually danced like a maniac outside when people walked by;D Nice joB!

  • Random hand at 1:33!!

    I hate gender stereotypes. D:

Then again, it is rather humourous to switch gender roles in a strictly conservative setting. >;D

    Lovely choreography at the end.

  • as the 4th reason..when u said it keeps u from outing yourself..thats not true because most people know when someone says partner they are gay..so u kinda out yourself anyway

  • actually i have alot of straight friends that use the term also. and if you are in a large group and set the guidelines that everyone use the term, then no one will out themselves.

  • oh ok..no need to be on the defense tho dude i actually subscribe to ya video logs lol..i wasn't criticizing i was just saying it seems like if i use it i'd out myself anyway u know

  • people likeyou ruin all the fun.

  • great video as always...love you..

  • i cant stop see all of u're vids, got me thinking about coming out.. thanks for posting that and all.. an jen too..

  • I also wanted to say that Im glad you say queer. I say that a lot but a lot of people find its "bad"...Gender Queer, should be more contagious...

  • I agree totally. I call my partner, partner.

  • My dad happens to be gay and I refer to him and his, uh partner as "My dad and his partner" And people are so damn stupid they think I'm talking about business partner. And I'm like no, his uh partner partner and they're like "But if he's gay where did you come from". UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's neverending!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah people are so behind with the times! get with it people!!!

  • ahahah your eyes are so sexy

  • well thank you!!! i'm suprised you can see them through my coke bottles :)

  • you are cute

  • thanks!

  • my gf and i use partner all the time. it just is a better term

  • couldn't agree more!

  • liked seeing you dancing :o)

  • oh one more thing about girlfriend/boyfriend.

Sometimes when girls say 'my girlfriend, they can actually be talking about their friends'

    example:

    'you go girlfriend'

'I'm just hanging with my girlfriend/s'

    Ok, I'm done now!! X

  • I prefer the term partner as well!! although when I say 'my partner' to people they do automatically assume I mean girl. even if I don't. X

  • i understand that the point is equality, which is why i think everyone should use the term...not just folks in the queer community.

  • i dig this. i agree.

  • oka i have been watching alot of video blogs and most of everyone uses there computers to record there blogs, my question and i know it may be stupid but how are they doing it? i know i watched on who used a macbook and i have one and i still dont know. so if anyone could help me out that would be sweet!

  • smart!

and now gay marriage is legal!!! YAY!!!

  • Groovy way to Sum it all up, Who needs LABELS anyway!

  • that made so much sense. and i'm being totally serious, which me saying might actually make it seem like i am not being serious. but that's beside the point(ADD), #2 basically sums up why my ex and i broke up. i fell into that role of "girlfriend", i never realized it before. thanks for sharing your opinion on the whole "partner" thing.

  • the dancing at the end was pretty amazing<3

  • great vid as well.

and sry about saying chick in my last comment.

    no labels :]

  • lol - But who does the strange hand belong to? It's appeared in both your videos so far...

  • haha....that would be imajentleman. there are some phantom limbs in some of her videos too ;)

  • so perfect...<3

  • thanks :)

  • I think you should end ALL of your videos with a dance. I found it to be very entertaining. Thank you for explaining the meaning behind using hte term "partner" in such an articulate manner. I'll just send them your video the next time I'm asked.

  • hahaha....i think i just might have to do that!! i've been working on some sweet new dance moves so it's only a matter of time before i show off my new skills :) oh and thanks for the compliment :)

  • <3 the septum piercing

  • thanks! :)

  • G'Day from Australia, I came across ya vid from ya partner's vid from her sis, it funny ya talking about this, coz about a week ago, I was having the same convo at work with my co-workers, everyone at works knows I'm gay and gots a partner. where I work I interact with heaps of people from the public, some ask if I gots a wife, I always say no, but do have a partner, then they ask what does she do for job, I say, they work in ... so when I say parnter and they it could be either sex,

  • I'm not lieing about my relationship, just calling them partner and "they". If I say BF, alot of eyebows will raise and looking at me strange, so it is easir for me just to say partner, I do sometimes wear my rainbow braclet sometimes tho :-P hehe. I'm a gay male but also I act str8 and can talk about going down on chicks, so if I say my BF my cover is blown. it is safer to say partner rather then BF, also my boy is more then a BF too, Loved the dance hun, you go girlfriend :-P hehe

  • I think it's sad that our society has to put people in one group or the other either male or female,to me that is like saying that transgender people don't exist..

  • yeah, but i think a majority of the problem is lack of education. there are a bajillion people who have never heard of trandsgender people and are completely uneducated on the issues. And of course socialization has had massive effects on all of us as well. But on the other side of things, there also some people who are just ignorant and close minded. it is sad, but hopefully we can continue to raise awareness and get our name on the map per se.

  • I completely agree with you, I've just never been able to articulate it so well.

  • why thanks!!

  • very good points! and awesome dancing at the end :)

  • thanks!!

  • Well, howdy partner. Very valid points.

  • thanks...i agree :)

  • haha your dancing makes me feel better about my dancing

    and excellent points!

  • hahaaha...thanks!

  • I agree with you 100%.

But, I think that it would just confuse people even more where I live(AL. now TN.)if I was to use the term "Partner". They would just look at me all weird like, not knowing if I was a girl or boy and then think that I was an owner of a business or something.

  • that's hilarious. it happens here too but only by old hoity-toity peeps :)

  • go jen lol

  • hahaha...this is great :)

  • hey.. your perty cute ;)

  • thanks!!

  • yeah, i still definately agree that using partner makes sense... thanks for your thoughts, you're wicked cool.

  • great vid, thought you made really interesting points and i totally agree with them except the one about how using "partner" eliminates labels that go with "girlfriend" or "boyfriend". if someone identifies as girl why can't they just break the mold and act or fill whatever role they want in a relationship and say "fuck the labels, i'm a girl but i'm not going let it define me in a relationship". lets make being a girl (or boy) whatever the individual makes it. love to know what you have to say.

  • i totally agree that people can define what their gender means for them. i think it's totally up to people how they want to identify but i have come to REALLY appreciate using the word partner.

  • your points were great!! and i loove your vids.. (all 3 of them) haha so you should upload some more!! :D

  • i will for sure ;) finals are slowing me down...

  • Great vid. Looove the ending!! Makes me want to go to cartwheels on the lawn, except it is freakin freezing here, so maybe not.

  • hahaha! cartwheels are the best!! however i don't miss the cold at all!!! i am originally from philadelphia so i know how that goes. eek.

  • Another reason partner is great... make when you introduce them, makes you feel like a detective :p

  • fyi, grammar is hard

  • that i can't argue with...and who doesn't want a detective partner.

  • How very mature of you. I always thought those terms like gf/ bf, or even worse ex-gf/ bf were so childish. Haha, and the dance at the end was the coolest.

  • thanks. i agree with the childish thing. partner just sounds better.

  • awesome vid!

  • thanks!!

  • your soo fucking right!

  • i agree :)

  • that right u BETTER

  • Huzzah I like that some one uses the term partner besides old gay men and me woot... Oh yeh love the crazy ending.

  • hahaha...thanks! it was fun to make :)

  • No probs

  • Hey!

    Its Legal in California now.

If you choose to get married will you still use partner over any of the wedding-tied-terms?

  • i would have to say yes to that one. although we would be able to call each other wife or husband i think that there are still social roles attached to those labels so i think i'll still stick to partner.

  • I couldn't agree more about the whole partner vs. bf/gf thing and I LOVED the little run around/dance thing at the end. Haha were ppl walking by like, "What the hell?" lol

  • hahaha....yeah i'm sure they thought i was a weirdo. but who cares? i am a weirdo :)

  • Yay, me too! We're awesome! :]

  • I totally am the coward in my relationship, I'm not out at work and I either avoid personal questions or refer to my girlfriend as boyfriend. I get sick to my stomach whenever I think about how much that would hurt her. I wish I could be so brave:( Nice ending to this vid.

  • coming out at work is always kind of tough, and i totally understand why you may not be able to do so. it makes me sad to think that there are still people who think our level of intelligence, job skills, and overall ability decreases simply because of what we prefer in the bedroom. as for your partner, i'm sure it may hurt a bit, but in any case i'm sure she would understand why you feel you need to hide t things.

  • I totaly agree with you... ^^ Here in Norway we only have one name for it.. and it is a good one _if_ you are not in a partnership.. because it has the same depth as gf or bf.. lots of people in partnerships are using partners.. luckily we have a term for living together.. but when you have been together for like for ever.. it just looses it's important meaning.. at least that is how I feel..

  • lol nice vid.

i'm just wondering what those people are thinking about your cartwheeling it up over there. haha.

  • hahaha.....they were laughing i'm sure...but who gives a crap :)

  • good video.

genderqueer is what i like to call myself but no one ever questions me on my gender... apparently I look to feminine... but oh well... it's how i feel and live my life.

oh.. I made a response vid for the Threesome personal ad.. :) didn't have much time... so it's short.

  • great video. i agree with your thoughts on this topic. (and the ending was super awesome)

  • haha thanks! it was fun :)

  • That's something I have actually wanted to talk to my girlfriend about. We're having a commitment ceremony for us and our friends and family, and thanks to that whole legality issue, we don't then become wife and wife. Yet, thanks to the commitment ceremony she's not my girlfriend anymore. I like partner, and think it's a great term. I think I might email her your video....

  • your comment just seriously made making this video all worth it :) Good luck with your commitment ceremony!! that's so exciting!!

  • Thank you! And might I mention, that I LOVED you dancing around at the end of your video, and seeing all the people just walking by in the background like there wasn't a crazy kid dancing around in the grass on camera.

  • hahaha....all i have to say is it's san francisco. although i may have looked a little goofy dancing in the grass, that is probably not even close to the random things you see in this city. crazy crazy people!! i love it!

  • cool!

On the gender thing...In the same boat here. Trying to figure it out. lol

  • yeah it is hella confusing....lol
