I am trying to extract data from a field onto another. In one sheet, I have several rows, each with a unique identifying number (1-1050). This is the sheet I want data imported to. In another sheet, I have over 1050 rows worth of data but each unique ID is sometimes repeated and sometimes omitted. How can I transfer from sheet with multiple ID's onto a single row with data displayed in more columns? I can explain better in email if you would like. Thanks!
All you have to do is switch your point of view! Instead of seeing it as a hard complicated tool, see it as a tool that has infinite possibilities & therefore the fun of learning the new aspects will never end! This is great because every time you have a new & unique problem to solve, you do a bit of learning (trial & error, post a question to me or Mr Excel Message Board (smarter than me)) & then you: 1) solve problem & 2) learn a new thing. Win win situation!
Thanks Mike. I think I'm forgetting something essential in life to succeed: Things that are worthwhile attaining cost some effort on our part: As good ol' Thomas Edison said: Talent is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
Thanks for the great question. Since many others may feel the same way, it is very useful for you to articulate this feeling. Anyone who reads our comments may get some benifit!
Amazing video! I've used these 2 functions many times before but never thought how powerful they could be until I watched this vid. Thank you very much.
ExcellsFun..your videos have helped me a ton. I'm actually an engineer and have been thrown into making spreadsheets to aid in different departments. I have quite a bit of excel experience but am stuck. This tutorial almost nailed my problem. Could you refer me to another tutorial that would help more. I need to find alike cells within a column from one worksheet and group them together in another worksheet. Though these cells are alike they have need to transfer with cells with unique val
I do not know what a torrent is. But if you want to download the videos do a search for "Batch Downloader" at Google - then you can download the videos.
Thanks for noticing! I did get a new mic, and I was a little sick.
You mentioned before about how much there is to Excel (in comparison to what an Excel certification requires), well this video is an example of that: just two functions and so many different uses!
Be sure to also check out the latest VLOOKUP, LOOKUP and CHOOSE function videos because those too, have many not-oft-used tricks.
Excell doesn't allow me to use the "," in =INDEX(B$7:B$41,ROWS(B7:B$41))
if i do use it, it doesn't acknowledge the rows-function,
do i need to install an addin for that?

@whoTOOKt0w , your formula should work just fine in any version of Excel. When you say doen't acknowledge it, what do you mean? What error?

Hi.
I thought I could skip the helper cells in I(5) from Week8Busn214 with the following, but it doesn't work:
=INDEX(B2:B7,MATCH(D11,INDEX($A$2:$A$7,ROWS(A2:A$7))))
Any suggestions?

Not that I know of. I wish there was a MoreFuc that would work in Excel 2010...

This video actually discouraged me a little: Excel can turn into a very complicated tool at times.
Not really, I'll try to extract as much as I can and perhaps someday I can create complicated formulas on my own.

The whole playlist title with these type of data extract videos is:

Search for that title and look for the results that say "Playlist".
