  • He never got the credit he deserved from the public or Nashville. @lonestar, very well said. No one could do beer drinkin', honkytonk music better than he did. RIP, Gary..

  • If you get a chance to hear Gary's backup band - The Toman Brothers -- they are GREAT! Often can be heard live in Bandera, TX venues. Love the Tomans, play lots of great songs, including Gary Stewart's.

  • Wow. I played LZR a few months ago. I wish I'd known that Gary had played there before. That show would've meant so much more.

  • I have had the privilege of playing some stages that the greats played. And I will tell you true. I was humbled. I have heeled in front of audiences and kissed the stage no shame. Did it at Gilley' s, Billy Bobs, Tooties, and the Ryman. The ledgends were their before me. I honor them. Bring back the days.

  • My Aunts and I so loved this MAN and his "sound" and Songs, he touched our hearts, takes me back to 17 in a quantum leap, thanks for posting! I am getting my 8 year old grand daughter to listen to these.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • the KING of HONKEYTONK COUNTRY MUSIC!!!!!!!
