  • I miss the dark and dreary songs and videos from the 90's. The songs then had such atmosphere, both in sound and imagery, that just isn't found in music today.

  • MoD are you out there? I guess they were very famous then :(

  • i wish she was still doing music

  • Oh man, this brings back some memories.....im not gonna say how old i am,but i used to cruise hollywood to this cd....dam i feel old

  • when girls dressed cool and rocked

  • Soooooo underrated. I love her voice, lyrics, look and of course she is beautiful!!!!!

  • I just discovered this (15 years after) & I can't stop listening to it. Radiohead and Poe. Thank God I still have you Radiohead. Poe, it's time to come back.

  • Poe's brother is an amazing writer. Has anyone read the house of leaves? My all time favorite book.

  • @massagegirlsj I've read House of Leaves. It's an incredible book.

  • @2112one Yeah I just bought my friend kevin that book. Spread the word friends. The House of Leaves is an awesome book. What a talent family.

  • heh, the technological references in this song are so delectably quaint =) Still love it tons, and pretty much all she's released---just makes me feel old. When the album came out/was made popular through "Angry Johnny" & "Trigger Happy Jack," I was in jr. high and still discovering the wonderful world of dial-up internet ;-)

  • 23 people are deff.

  • Are you out there?

  • This is the made for television faggs version. I can't find the original. God this version SUCKS. I love POE.

  • i'm not acutally a "fan" but i've enjoyed POE since i first heard Angry Johnny. I bought (yes actually bought) the POE-HELLO CD. AND STILL LISTEN TO IT. I never heard this hardcore version!

    EVEN MORE AWESOME!!!!

  • @SuperflyAssKicker its the b-said to the same track

  • long live the 90s!!

  • Poe, Fiona Apple, Nikka Costa, Dalbello... I miss the female rock and all those angry chicks... And now what do we get? Some random cheap³ electropop and talentless singers... 90s female rock really rocked!

  • Is it bad i found Poe from playing a playstation game called "Apocalypse"?

  • @max2icey that game was the shit!

  • @TheMrHatchetface Ahaha Yes it is!

  • Love it!!! If you like this check out danish act INOUWEE with the song "liquids playing misty games"

  • barlow girls. flyleaf. fucking lol

  • holy shit I just noticed at the start of the video... When the hell did MTV play music?

  • I love Poe. This is such a great album. Highly underrated. It didn't get the credit it deserved.

  • Exellent choice! ;)

  • where can you download this i cant find it anywhere

  • Love this song and Poe.

  • "along with the memory of the pain you lived in"

  • POE is so awesome!!! Although this is a different version than the albums original one, it is still amazing!!! I wish she would drop a new album!!!! Haunted was really good as well, but i want to hear NEW tracks by her!!!!!! If i am incorrect - someone out there please let me know of any other albums or EPs she has released!!!!!

  • This vid is awesome, somewhere along my road ...I missed this song. "ROCKS"

  • would love to hear this on shrooms!

  • time fly's... i havve two little sisters that are in high school and when i think about it they were babys when this cd came out!

  • This song of poe shows how versatile she is, sooooo different from the original but this one's got some punch!

  • If I had my way I'd send this video to every 20 something in the country and say, hear what music and LIFE is all about. Welcome brothers...welcome sisters.

  • How do i buy this version of this sucker.?

  • I've never heard this version of Hello before- I always heard the subtle mix she has- but I love this now that I found it : ) Thanks for posting

  • 90s <3

  • Oh, goodness, Targetranger.. While I agree with your list, listen up, all is not lost. I could make a list of what's along the lines as cool as this great stuff. Barlow Girls, Bats for Lashes, Beth Hart, Birthday Masacre, Forence and the Machine, Flyleaf, Grace Potter, Halestorm, Hungry Lucy, Hydrovibe, Imogen Heap, Kate Voegele, Lacuna Coil, Lara Fabian, Mandragora Scream, Natalia Kills, and the only thing stopping this is the space.

  • @KittyKarenpoo I like a lot of the bands but flyleaf ???

Otep is the bitch to beat now

  • @KittyKarenpoo Forence and the Machine, my flavorite

  • I was in jr high when these guy's came out on of the best concerts I have been to to this day!!! Awesome!!!

  • Annie, we love you baby! And we miss you.

  • i found the song!!!

    message me for the link

  • THANK YOU STIR OF ECHOES LOL

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • TargetRender, you are so right, but forgot to mention Luscious Jackson, the 4 girl group that had even Emilou Harris on the fever in fever out album

  • Poe >> everybody else in existence.

  • I love this song. I received POE via an accidental purchase through a music order back in the 90s and was in awe of her style and grace immediately. She tapped right into my soul and the pain I was in at the time. Even today, I pull her cd from my collection and feel closer to my true self and the acceptance of what is within me.

  • Poe is so ahead of her time she should be more famous than she is

  • where do i find this version to download?..Amazon doesnt have it

  • P-o-e are you out there?

  • poe brings back so many good memories

  • Where canI get this version of Hello? ............... soooooooooo coooool.

  • This song by poe is sooooooooo hot been listing to her for about ten years now. She have the most seductive voice I've ever heard. Her songs come from her soul. There is Only one poe and she will steal your soul with her voice beware!!!!!!!

  • What the hell happened to her anyway? Can anyone say?

  • I can't find this version anywhere, and I really want it. GAH!

  • I don't even know what to say. Simply fantastic.

  • 17 people dislike this????hello??????

  • like a spike in the side of a mountain.

  • I'll never get why Poe never made it far in the 90s. She was ultimately very talented and deserved more kudos.

  • Beauty incarnate.

  • hello

  • @drcanoro are you out there?

  • Does anyone know where I can find this version? I love it.

  • @JayInTheMaking its on her cd hello i belive

  • which album is this rock version from?

  • Grrrr. Alan Wake made me love this girl. She's amazing. Does she not make music anymore?

  • I just realised that the line "No-one should brave the underworld alone" is also in her song 'House of Leaves' too!

  • LOL @ disconnected modem... This song is starting to show its age.

  • @koopatroopa187

    What's a modem?

  • @koopatroopa187 so true

  • @koopatroopa187 I love that line.It reminds me of a Lenny Williams song, where he talks about how he"...watched television until television went off." Hilarious but both are still great songs.

  • @koopatroopa187 I love that line.It reminds me of a Lenny Williams song (I Love You) ,where he talks about how he "...watched television until television went off." Hilarious but both are still great songs.

  • Poe was great back in the 90's till she disappeared .. do to a record company dispute .. but according to her web site that has finally been resolved .. and according to the site new material will be coming soon

  • sporty spice

  • ROCKS !!!!!! POE COME BACK WE LOVE YOU !!!!!!

  • POE!....great version..amazing artist. I should have checked her out sooner ,Damon

Hello Hello...how do I reach you?

  • This song kicks ass !!! 2 Thumbs Up !!!

  • never heard tis version before.

  • This is an amazing version of a great song! I have known Poe since 2000. Her voice is so multiefacited. it is incredible. And she is beautiful. LOVES.

  • i heard first time this damned hot voice on a playstation game "Apocalypse"...the song was "Control".....till that day i love this singer...she has an incredible voice...

  • takes me back to 1990 circa something.....can't remember :)

  • The beginning of the song almost sounds like something from Silent Hill.

  • Does anybody know where I can buy this song? I really need to have it, and I'm one of those crazy people who insist on paying for their music. I can't find this song anywhere! It's not any CD that I could find, nor on Amazon or iTunes. It would be great if somebody could point me to an online shop that sells this MP3, or to a CD with this song on it.

  • @Tastentier it is on iTunes. The album itself is called "Hello". itunes.apple.com/us/album/hello/id326709869

You may have to add the HyperText Transfer Protocol in front of the link for some browsers. From there you'll see a link to view the album in the iTunes application.

the Haunted album is really good to, plus it ties in with her brother's book, House of Leaves, if you ever read it.

  • @gerlachmark

Thanks, but the rock version of "Hello" is not on the album :-( I don't like the radio and album version quite as much. I'm also looking for the rock version of "Angry Johnny", which I can't find on any album either.

  • I like the original album version better, it was way more soulful, What I always loved about Poe was that she was kind of weird, and had such a beautiful voice, and such amazing lyrics, she sang them with her heart in the album.

This version is good, but it doesn't touch me like the other version did. Not even close :)

  • I totally agreeeee! with target! I miss that!

  • Poe rocked. This was my favorite song of hers. Damn, I miss all the great chic rockers of the 90's. Alanis, Tori Amos, Garbage, Poe, Joan Osbourne, K's Choice, Elastica. The radio is dominated with pop garbage these days. Bring music like this back!

  • @TargetRender AGREED!!!

  • @TargetRender

best comment on modern music i've read the last months!

  • @TargetRender Thank god, I at least have a decent radio station that plays rock bands of the 2000's. It's no Poe, but it's something better than a load of pop crap.

  • @TargetRender I couldn't agree more! I find myself listening to this music more than what is played on the radio today.

  • @TargetRender in the 90's that used to be pop :(

  • @TargetRender Well here's a list for today's women rockers:

Yea yea yeas (Karen O), Bat For Lashes, Cat Power, Venus Hum, Chungking, The Hundred In The Hands, Lily Allen, Ellie Goulding, Kate Nash, Florence & The Machine. Those should keep you busy for a while. I'm sure you'll like at least one or two. I like them all.

  • @TargetRender

Check out Ani DeFranco. Another amazing female singer. Check out As If, Two Little Girls and Little Plastic Castles. :-)

  • @TargetRender definetly, don't forget Fiona Apple ;p Or Kittie, for that matter if you dig the heavy stuff.

  • @TargetRender definetly, don't forget Fiona Apple ;p Or Kittie, for that matter if you dig the heavy stuff.

And def agree with @KittyKarenpoo, and many more. The trouble these days if finding all these amazing artists amongst the masssive piles of shit out there!

  • @TargetRender Liz Phair, Hole, The Breeders, Meredith Brooks, Paula Cole

  • @TargetRender New Garbage album TBA !!! I can't wait!! :D

  • @TargetRender Tori and Alanis are well and truely still going, although Alanis is currently on a maternity break. Tori's new album, her first clasical-inspired album, is out in September with a world tour to follow

  • Best audio quality with video in tact thus far.

  • S0038948 MOULTON

  • nice song..

  • classic 90s rock

  • A "tad" bit darker than the album version but still love it

  • They should make a movie from the book "House of leaves" and make the soundtrack from poe's album "haunted"

  • @zukututu i agree that would be amazing!

  • Poe needs to get back and do new stuff; shes really talented.

  • I don't know how I missed her in the 90's, but I own both her CD's now. I hope she comes back for more

  • i like this one more but the original i heard first so it holds just as much value as this one does i have HELLO on cd

  • I put this CD in my player in 2002 and never took it out. learned the basslines to every Poe song I could find. This it the best shit around! Ever!

  • wow if i dont play alan wake, ill never know this briliant singer

  • @henrytanful lol for me it was the movie stir of echoes.

  • @henrytanful Yea, this song and the Poet and his Muse were the best on the game soundtrack. "Find the lady of the light gone raving in the night." lol

  • Poe is AWESOME!!!!

  • this is false advertising!

  • hello hello hello lol

  • It's a shame Poe isn't still around and singing nowadays. This is a good example of a good singer and band disappearing from the face of the Earth.

  • @OriginalLemming ..she coming back.. there was a big ol hassle with her between her record company...

  • hello hello

  • I definately like this version better than the origional. I have it on my mp3 player and I listen to it alot.

  • wow it just occurred to me that this song is like 14-15 years old. Where the hell did time go?

  • Is this version available to buy online anywhere? I couldn't find it on iTunes or Amazon

  • Poe is AWESOME

  • Could someone please send me this version of Hello? (mp3), I asked for it on lastfm but no bugger answered me!? Thanks in advance! :]

  • @Umbrella2 , Hey I have the mp3 of this version. Write me back if you havent gotten it yet

  • @ratelvis Hi, I still haven't got the mp3, I'd be really grateful if you could send it to me! :) Also was this version ever released? Thank you!

  • that's great!

  • Poe is a great artist! Chad.

  • This version is so much better than the one on the album.

  • there r some poe songs i wish you tube had

  • SHE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!

realpoe DOT ning DOT CEE OH EM

  • This version isn't on the album?? That will keep me from buying her album if that is the case.

  • The version on the album is excellent as well, just a different mix. There are several mixes to many of her tunes. And if you choose not not to get BOTH her albums, you are really missing out, is all I can say. She was great.

  • This was the single version. Both are great, but I like this one better :)

  • @ARIESKUB3275 acually, the album version is really good. I love it.

  • @EvilmindedchilD did not care for it I hate when artists put a video out and you buy the album for that version of the song and it is not on there you have to buy the single in order to get the version you want. Janet Jackson and Tori Amos do that a lot as well I own both of Poe's albums and I love them just hate the album version of this song on there

  • I have both too. I really can't tell the difference though, probably because I heard the song before I saw the video.

  • This version shouldve made the album not the version thats on there

  • Which version was used int he movie Stir of Echoes?

  • It wasn't. The one on the movie is the album version which hits the mood perfectly at tht eend.

  • She's damn hot !

  • Love it!

  • she's got incredible voice;o

  • Not too mention she is super hot and gorgeous! I love her Haunted song bigtime.

  • yawn..you guys suck..but the song is good..

  • I think this is kick ass and unique!

  • I like the album version better than this.

  • I like them both but I do like the album version much better too.

  • By the way worked since 97 graduated 99, So what makes a hacker any different then "cracker"? Never heard of a Cracker except the racist Term against Caucasian People.

  • I can't believe you've been working as a programmer and never heard the term. Oh well, I tried to send a couple of links but youtue is not going to let me. So for a start go to wikipedia and type in hacker (computer security)...or how about this, you google hacker cracker difference.

  • Ok Man Just never heard the term, no offense

  • if this song had a hole.. i would put my weewee there

  • This music is truly unique, in my opinion. It's hard to put into words. It's almost like it's a prophecy (this music is mid 90s) of how the future (our current time) could/should be. Very hard to put in words.

  • poe rocks!

  • Does anyone know how I can go about finding this song on mp3? Any site I find that has it directs me to itunes and amazon, but neither site has this version. It's driving me up the wall!

  • Comment removed

  • F*cking rocking!!! Whatever happened to good music

  • This woman is amazing,

    Nice video!

  • Can someone please explain to me what this song is about.I like it but cant figure it out.

  • It's an interesting question. MOD refers to the Masters of Deception, one of the first big hacker groups, note the other computer references throughout this song codes, modems, etc.. It was thought at the time, this was a song of support for a hacker named Phiber Optik, and a song of protest over the fact that he had just received a sentence of a year and a day in a federal prison for his hacking activities, to the outrage of the computer community.

  • Wow Sentance a guy a year in jail who could hack into your bank account and steal your idenity and hack into gov computers and compromise national security

How the hell could they do that to him?? Sarcasm

  • I assume this is an age thing (I hope you are young, the only excuse for ignorance). The media calls everyone a hacker now and I assume that is the source of your comment. If you were around and working in the '90's, like I was, you know the difference between a hacker and a cracker. What you're talking about is a cracker, who nobody defends. Phiber Optik and all of MOD were true hackers. Knowledge is Power. Check it out.

  • HACKERS

  • If you're reading this come back baby!

  • I didn't realize how hot she was!

  • Wow. This rock version of the song is so much more intense than the original. I'm loving it to death.

  • @chordoflife I like this version, but I like the original better.. And I wish they had a video for it too.
