not bouncing, turning - it's the trim wheel. It turns when the pilot pressed the trim button on his yoke. It is used to manually trim the plane if necessary
@swtrooper11 Well LVL CHG uses the auto throttle so its automatic. For example in a maximum thrust take off, when climbing one decreases or increases their attitude to maintain a certain airspeed, which is LVL CHG when done automatically. But in level flight one controls speed using throttle levers, which can be done manually with the throttle levers or automatically.
I wish cameras could focus on both the indoors and outside...too many vids focus on the windows and we miss out on what the pilots are doing...great vid, though!

wow, that's a REAL old school 737. Third world countries must have the best pilots in the world because they have to keep 30+ year old hand me downs flying safely
Nice video, but not totally correct. Early on they were supposed to "be in position and hold" for traffic on final; not true - they were "holding short" (would not be on the runway with traffic on final). Didn't hear: "V-1", "rotate", or "V-2". Adios.
What are those 3 lights beside the altimeter, at 6:04, they are white, blue, and orange? I always wondered what those were because I see them always on old planes.
Hi, the 3 lights are marker beacon anunciators, this is a one of the components for ILS sistems, that help pilots for instrumental approaches, and it is a mandatory instrumental equipment for all commercial aircrafts. New planes have that componets too but a new digital display configurations.
Blue is outer maker, orange is middle marker, white is inner marker. Its used to help pilots establish a route to the runway, they were used even before the ILS, but nowadays they are used in conjunction.
@soccerman118 These are the Outer marker, middle marker, and inner marker indicator lights. When they light up it is also announced with an audio alarm. It is to indicate where the aircraft is on the glide-slope. It start with the Outer then the middle then the inner.
@pilotolalo Hi, in the preflight briefing the crew was be informated about that and they checked the maintenance records after that the PIC decided "disregard procedure" if the master caution be illuminated. Check in 2:34 on the CRM take off briefing the FO remember the "disregard procedure" for a master caution.
Oh thanks :) well yeah I didn´t notice that at 2:34 cause all the noise on the cockpit... haha when I saw the illuminated master caution. I was like.."oh no" why"? haha Thank for the explanation :)
Thank you for this great upload. The only mistake I saw is when the airplane is waiting for another aircraft to land it's called 'Holding Short' Only when your waiting on the runway, for traffic to exit the runway for example, would you say 'Position and hold.'
@MystiK570 Hi, depends of some performance factors, load, temperature, winds. The pilots and dispatchers find the ground roll (distance for take off) in the take off performance table for that aircraft.
Rubbish. Modern aircraft crash too, its all down to proper maintainance. Good that there are places we can still see real aircraft like this in action.
@2491cc@Pullisto Yeh, whatever. Well, you can keep your boring rancid underpowered modern ac like A320s that crash just as much if not more, A320s wouldnt last the course as long as these. Older aircaft were over engineered and had power in reserve, the 737-200 being a prime example, and has a faster cruise speed than later jobs, and could get off its arse a lot faster in climbout than most too. Note how many aircaft have crashed lately, how many were much older ones?So age bears no relavance.
@Pullisto Most, if not all crashes are caused by poor maintainance, or pilot error. Don't get me wrong, i love old aircraft too, especially the 737-200. But having old aircraft isn't good for the image of the company in my opinion.
@2491cc Yes, you are correct in the first sentence. As far as image goes, what got voted the best airline in UK a year or so ago? Palmair, who own one plane, a 1975 B737-200. I was going to fly with them just for a ride back in a better era of jet travel. However I flew with a couple of other airlines in Asia and did the same.
@ArtyomShipoff -- i think its used to trim the ailerons up or down..to adjust the pitch of the aircraft... i think XD hope fully planing to learn all tht nxt year when i get to flight school
(+ suave a pilotagem).

what is LVL CHG aka level change on autopilot?
swtrooper11 5 months ago
@swtrooper11 it controls the aircraft speed by changing/maintaining a certain attitude instead of using thrust.

@MrDantesmith you mean pilot use the throttle lever , or it's autimatic ?

@swtrooper11 Well LVL CHG uses the auto throttle so its automatic. Hola! tengo tres preguntas.

I love the old school 737, the engines we're just magnificent and the looks we're superb. Thanks for posting.

(+ suave a pilotagem).
