You know, I'd like to say there's only so much these old thrash metal bands can write, the new stuff will obviously never be as good as the older, but it's acceptable, sometimes it meets the same standards.....But point being, we as fans and musicians are only waiting for them to write the next big thing, we all know that wont happen, so I don't see why thrashers just don't pick up the damn guitar and stop playing Extreme metal and this new shit, and pick off where thrash left.

@TheVicious AJAF was a great album no doubt in that. The thing was the songs were too long to play live for the reason why they dont play AJFA anymore. Ride the lightning and Kill' em all were great as well but some where down the line Metallica lost themselves. Slayer always stayed true to themselves.

I do really like kill em all and show no mercy too. but Killing is My business is the meanest album I think I've ever heard. The rage was so geniune.

@codebabe Well, those are great albums too, but show no mercy is a bit primitive, not a good demonstration of slayer, just for historic value. About megadeth... I like them, but the best of them of the 80's is peace sells by far. Kimb is very raw and cool, but suffers from the same stuff as show no mercy, or even the first anthrax. A bit too cheesy. Kill em all is also cheesy, but musically is a bit more interesting, the bass lines, and the songwriting are a bit more sofisticated.

@codebabe I think that Metallica produced the most thorough debut Kill Em All. I think Anthrax had the best sophomore album Spreading The Disease. Slayer's 3rd piece Reign In Blood mows the other 3 down. Megadeth's Rust In Peace was a masterwork that beat out the others by a longshot.
