  • It's unfortunate that the trend in those days was to stand up front and sing... today, they would have been a lethal combo... absolutely stunning to sing like that and drumming good too... stunning !!

  • she played the drums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tres professionnel les Carpenters .......toujours juste ...et humble ....j'aime ... c'est rare !

  • Life is too brief, short, and seems unfair this side of heaven. So many people close to us and people we have never met personally that lived in this world depart from us. But the hardest part and experience in life is when someone else dies. Nothing harder than that for eternity.

  • I think there is always a problem with the microphone for the vocals and the mike for the drums being too close to each other when your singing from the drum set.

It is an impossible situatuation for the guy doing the mixing of the mike volumes

backstage. I am guessing that this video was over dubbed with a studio recording.

  • In the dim and distant past, I sang from behind the drums myself. It is very, very difficult. To play to Karen's standard and still sing would be impossible for most singer-drummers.

  • SI KAREN HUBIERA VISTO AL DE LA PANDERETA QUE ESTABA ATRAS DE ELLA SE HUBIERA DESTORNILLADO DE LA RISA

  • with a voice like that who in the hell would care about the DRUMS.

  • How can I get a job as their Tambourine Guy?

  • Voice of an angel! What a talented pair - freaking amazing!

  • @Movickrox I second that

  • Best vidz are with Karen behind the drums....thats where she belongs...was happy!

That tambourine player is amazing too!

  • Behind Ella Fitzgerald, Karen Carpenter had the best voice in the musical history of the USA. The most beautiful voice I have heard. Also a very beutiful woman.

  • @jachiza66sjh they did a song together check it out on youtube

  • This is my favorite clip; Karen appears very natural and happy here. She hadn't been wearied by the 300 annual tour dates to occur over the next 4-5 years and she hadn't been heavily introduced to the smug music scene. She is sorely missed!

  • she's gorgeous , like always

  • She can really play those drums.

  • They really rock with this song.

  • I noticed in all of the videos showing Karen playing drums, she maintains her body and shoulders leaning slightly forward. She picked that up by reading about it or someone gave her some pointers on drumming techniques. I think she was a very accomplished musician on the drums.

  • Karen "fronts" the band just find behind the drums! :) They wanted a dressed up, skinny thing to sell records instead of realizing they had all the talent they needed to sell records for decades ... and that's an understatement.

  • its SO dope that shes drumming.. BEAUTIFUL VOCALIST

  • Watching this I have to say that I still don't understand why Richard felt it was so nessassary for Karen to "front" the band and get "out form behind the drums.." It was clear that Karen was at her happiest when she was playing and singing at the same time. Hell she said it herself.." I am a drummer who sings... and I wouldn't feel right out front.."

  • @Carpentersfan2003 I TOTALLY agree with what you wrote here. I thought it was even cooler that she was one of the band and that she could sing and play drums simultaneously to perfection! I know in that Australia concert clip on here you could see her face just fine because she sat up high enough above her kit.

  • @Carpentersfan2003 Time melts when I watch this. To see her drum, using both hands, both feet, sing beautiful and grove to the music is poetry. She was wonderful "fronting" the band behind the drums!
