There is a one note per string diminished arpeggio that I could show you if you want. It's a lot easier than hammering on two strings in a row (I used to try that when I first started sweeping, I know it's hard personally). It's just like the minor shape (the one that is taken from on top of the major scale), just a bit different.

make sure you get more of a sweep motion with the pick. Even when your going slower focus on raking across the strings so you dont break your sweep

Nice exercise. Instead of picking the extensions try hammer-ons and pull-offs. They'll make your sweeps sound more fluid and if you start out early it'll be easier later...

I really don't follow your logic. I don't care too much for metal, specifically, but this could really be applied to music in general: Harmonic minor sounds way cooler than pentatonic scales, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks so. Why not make it illegal to play in anything other than 4/4 while we're at it?

Also, sweep picking isn't so much used to play through scales as it is to arpeggiate chords.
