Did you see the kids jumping in the audience? I think that's great.

@Gangjoyful - I wouldn't say lack talent, they just have a different vibe. The Specials were always very serious, and their songs were social commentry. Madness were more fun, more lively and whilst they also wrote moving songs, did so in a more lighthearted way. Suggs comes across as jolly and fun whilst Terry Hall came across as serious and full of angst which many shared during the Thatcher period.

@Gangjoyful - I wouldn't say lack talent, they just have a different vibe. The Specials were always very serious, and their songs were social commentry. Madness were more fun, more lively and whilst they also wrote moving songs, did so in a more lighthearted way. Suggs comes across as jolly and fun whilst Terry Hall came across as serious and full of angst which many shared during the Thatcher period.

Have been a Specials fan as long I remember and I think what Lily does here is great.. In fact, Miss L. is all about having fun and is much more doing whatever she feels like doing than the most of us. And you know what..? She enjoys ev'ry f*cking second of it.. Don't get appearances blind you..

anyone who says lily allen is shit and relying on her parents e.t.c has no fucking idea... whether or not you personally like her stuff is down to individual taste but she has taken a lot of styles, ideas, influences and come up with some interesting stuff not to mention good lyrically. I don't think she is the best live but definitely talented...

@HaroldStupidAlbanian Having grown up on Ska I have just listened 'properly' - without bias - to Lily's 'Smile' on MTV just now and I was struck by its 'Terry Hallness'. I googled 'Terry Hall on Lily Allen', trying to see if Terry had ever commented on Lily's songwriting style and the similarities with his. There was no such comment that I could find but I found this which probably says more than any words. Clearly Terry rates her. That's good enough for me.
