Ville was TOTALLY wrong! This is one of THE BEST songs on the entire album! Of course, the whole thing is absolutely brilliant, but I love this one the most!
his voice is so warm and romantic...he should give performances as a reader of poetry, because I can't stop listening when he's talking... and i suppose i'm not only one...
FAVORITE SONG FROM THE ENTIRE ALBUM!!!!..... the song kicks sooooooo well with my badass system and the subwoofer.. the sub kicks so hard. KEEP making more of this!
I adore this man and the band's music... I've loved them since 1999 and that won't ever change. But the fact that he sounds American at times and that they have become ever so slightly American-ised is really disappointing.
I hate this song, if you get the feeling i get and understand it perfectly ...you should hate it too , but you just keep on listening to it because it's a part of you in there! just like a drug , know it makes you not good hearing it , but you can't stop! and so you get to play it again and again !
This is my favorite song of the new album and I cannot believe when he said this song gonna be the most hated. I cried the first time I've heard this song. No words needed but PERFECT.
Hell no no way I could hate that song. Its my fav for sure. Its even inspired me to write a vid for it. very dreamy. Its the kind of song that I could lay down under the stars on repeat and live in my imagination forever with <3
althought i LOVE every song on the album, this one is at the bottom for me. I just didn't warm up to it, but i maybe i haven't yet given it a good chance to. :)
From this album I love only "Katherine Wheel" and "In the arms of rain" more than this one. How anyone could hate it? It's so profound. Personally, I hate "St. Valentine", it's just too strange for me.
I really liked this song. I enjoyed the remixed versions on Uneasy Listening so this was cool that they made an original song w/ all the fx & what not.
doesn't remind me that much of top gun as it does a cross between a song on the first lost boys' movie soundtrack and the twin peaks theme song ... either way it's probably my favorite on the album..glad they kept it
I was surprised by this song, but I do enjoy it. I take a long walk almost every day when the weather is nice during which I listen to a full HIM album and just think about the music. It's relaxing.
This was my favorite song on the album really o_O It was poetic. I got tired of St. Valentine and Heartkiller. It was like they just had a big hat full of love related words, and they just pulled a couple out. It was stale sounding. When ALL of your music is about love there's really only so many albums you can make. I'd like it if more songs were like this one. Sounded much fresher I thought.
"And the doctor said that... that to Linde, 'Have you been injecting yourself with uh...' uhwell something what the bodybuilders use. And Linde was like, 'Well look at me, definitely not."
I agree with DarkAngelSoul100. I adore this song, it has a very sexual rhythm beginning very slowly and building up...makes we ponder.....................
@DarkAngelSoul100 I agree with DarkAngelSoul100. I adore this song, it has a very sexual rhythm beginning very slowly and building up...makes we ponder.....................
I want to find out his number so i can mail him a message 6 pages long. This is the ONLY good song on this album. Absolutely unbelievable. I don't know if the band members are really going through happy time of life so this album is bursting with Ville's happy voice and sweet sounds. I can't believe how far they've gone from their past sound. Only the valentine and the foreboding sense can stand out as songs with no happy sound refrain. ... totally disappointed....
@amakoxsudeki Seriously? I knew there'd be some people like you. Yes their music has changed a little, but its got so much better from the change. They HAVE changed anyways, Villie stopped drinking and smoking and other changes in the bad have happened. DEAL WITH IT. God forbid a band experiments and does something different instead of making the same stuff for nearly 20 years. Enjoy their old music, but embrace the changes. Seriously man, smile for once
@adam0900909 I Can't believe you are saying that we need to embrace new things!! Can't you hear Ville speaking that THIS song is experiment and that they are doing some music like this at home. I AM embracing new stuff, but only those of good quality. Ville hadn't stop drinking and smoking. It's nonsense. Maybe he reduced consummation of those but stopped...I don't think so. I would be glad if he did :D
However, this is nice album, but pretty much commercialized. Peace.
I love love love this song! I could listen to it all day long and never get sick of it. I think they should do some more of this kind of music or come out with a instrumental CD with all the best songs.
Aww Ville thought this song would be the most hated.. I think it's beautiful and creative. Whatever song he comes up with I'd love it no matter what cause it's coming from his heart and it takes a very special kind of person to be able to come up with lyrics as good as his.
Got to respect them as musicians for releasing a song which is so far out of their normal genre. I think its a fantastic song. 10/10 love the way the beat kicks in at 2.13. More of this on your next album please Ville .
ville this song is incredible you should make an album with that kind of music .just to see what HIM can produce other than venus doom dark light or love metal which by the way are great albums but another record with that same theme would be boring ,Screamworks is a very original work and i place it with two other favorites Grt Love songs Vol 666 and love metal.

This song is fucking haunting to listen to, and the title is just beautiful. It's by far one of the best on the albulm, and perhaps the best ending song yet, though I can't get over One Last Time.
And I'm glad he mentioned Vangelis as an inspiration, cause it really reminds me of Memories of Green.
Personally I think the truth is... In Venere Veritas is a HIGHLY overrated song, and The Forboding Sense of Impending Happiness deserves alot more recognition, not by fans but by the band that made it. :)
Ville, are you high???? Mostof us LOVE this song ( can't speak for all) but I LOVE this song--please perform it when you come to ATLANTA in MAY--I will be the wee young black chick in the FRONT ROW screaming and acting like a damn fool next to a hubby that loves you just as much, if not more, than I do!
I didn't grow up in the 80's but I loved this song, In the arms of rain is also one of my favorites off the new album. I've noticed that this album isn't as dark as their others, it's more like peace and happiness, considering what he's said about the songs.
For me personally, this is the best track on the album. It creates ethereal and other-worldly imagery which I love. My only wish was that is was longer - it would be great if it was a 10 minute epic musical journey. But alas I shall have to settle with 3 minutes. Beautiful track nonetheless.
OMG I've thought, have been thinking, and still am thinking the same thing ever since I heard it in full. I made a similar comment on queenofthedamned31's vid of it saying I can only imagine (unfortunately) what it would be clocking in at like an Opeth type of 15 minute masterpiece. I'm actually pretty bothered by that. I wish there was so much more of that song to love. I wish Ville could know that so many of us already love this track despite what he assumed earlier. HIM is amazing.
I like the way you think iwtdeiwstl - scratch what I said about 10 minutes - some sort of 15 minute odyssey sounds perfect to me. Maybe throw in one or two more surreal verses and let the music of the five lovely Finnish gents take you away. As Dr. Seuss once stated, "Oh, the places you'll go" - musically speaking in this case. The fact the song begins to dwindle down at 2:40 and then fades out completely is such a shame, but I'm grateful that they decided to experiment a bit and share it.
KUDOS to you, my fellow HIM fan. I actually started thinking what if they were to make an entire album that 80s synth/electronica vibe with a touch of their own unique style, of course. I love so much the fact that they are so diverse and gives us so many different sounds to embrace and cherish. Also, what about a progessive type of record? You know, Rush/Opeth type of thing with that beautiful dose of HIM? Random and off the wall time sigs, more experimentation, just widening of the parameters.
my comm hasn''t appeared. This song, katherine wheel and in the arms of rain are my fav but TFSOIH is special, it's the best album ending song, it's like the last chapter of a volume of a book, giving u a special feeling, conclusios of the vol before and mistery for what will be after,it's really a "foreboding sense of impending happiness", a "bye bye and see ya soon, i'll be back" or sort of a cassandra positive prediction for ville's mysterious ""katherine wheel", "venus doom",he looks in love
Stupid Title... I inked it on my arm! :D

Personally I think the truth is... In Venere Veritas is a HIGHLY overrated song, and The Forboding Sense of Impending Happiness deserves alot more recognition, not by fans but by the band that made it. :)
