On the positive side; peak oil means the end of global capitalism and a return to more localised /regional production and consumption;Humanity is facing a kill or cure situiation ; Time will tell if as a species we deserve to survive
Very sorry shithead300, I assumed English was your first language. In that case maybe your question is somewhat valid. 'Peak oil will cause the lights to go out' if we carry on down this road of near total oil dependency as people MAY not be able to afford the energy to power their lights. The fact that transportation is a lot more energy dependent means we will have massive problems in this area first(before lights). Agriculture will suffer as our green revolution is oil powered.
they wouldn't have had to go round the world arming some despots bombing others and struggling disparately for some construct to hold it all together other than protection of oil reserves. very well said!
The US wouldnt have had to go round the world if they didnt pass peak production in the 1950's. Look at america;s oil fields now. Imagine the worlds oil fields looking like that, that will be soon if the early toppers are correct. tbh if you are not intelligent to understand the issue dont comment, but i think you might do and that your probably just an ugly troll
Why do you speak about me like this! Why do you call me troll! Ok, I make some errors in my writing because English is not my first language. you are the bad person!
argh! i really would like to see the rest of this. any pointers on where to go?

@bluzy25 i would agree, although 'messy' won't even begin to describe what the transition will look like for the developed world.
