I saw Dave Morecraft and his calliope on wheels, along with calliopist Travis Vasconcelos at the recent Barbeque on the River in Paducah. We recently took a dinner cruise on the Belle of Cincinnati on its recent visit to Paducah. Just last night I got some DVDs in the mail from my old friend, Harry Barry about his whistles being used on the steamboat Chautauqua Bell.
@acoustics101 it sure is a small world. I met Harry back in June when I swung by the C. BELLE back in June, what an interesting man, and what a collection of whistles he's got!
@acoustics101 yep, thats the regulator. It took the boiler pressure (150-200 psi depending on high or low fire) down to 35 at first, but now they have it set on 25. Still sounds good with less pressure though from what I've heard since the drop :)

Very pretty sounding well regulated steam calliope! I assume that's a steam pressure regulator between the supply line and the manifold.
