Saw Hugh Nicholson in the early seventies with the Poets at the Electric Gardens in Glasgow, he was brilliant then. Next thing I buy The Marmalade`s Songs album and he`s the star attraction. Shame Blue never went further as Hugh was, and probably still is a fantastic songwriter. Wish I could work with him, he can see my stuff on grahamp587. All the best Shuggie.
Saw Blue supporting Focus at Liverpool Empire (1973?) and have still got the freebie flexi-disc of Sad Sunday from the gig. Only just got round to buying the Life in the Navy album (vinyl) from ebay this year!! Disappointed though - I couldn't remember any of their other stuff and assumed Sad Sunday would be typical of their numbers, but I think it set too high a benchmark for them.
Reckon I need to subscribe just in case there are any more gems to come. Bought most of their 70's albums and the released CD-20 but this is a wonderful surprise.
One of the best songs from the 70s.

I remember this from 1977 - surprised they didn't become bigger. Are they still making music?

Is this talented hunk single. Remember him when he was in the Poets and went to see them often, although I was just a nipper then 15 going on 16.
