Pretty sweet looking tank. Wouldn't glass be better for the top to prevent scratching from actually using the table top? Also, does the tank feel unstable if you press on the sides? It seems like it would tip over pretty easily.
@TheTechGuider Its a fluidized bed. I have videos on them. i also have videos on air powered filters. The bubbles rising, causes suction behind them as they rise. This suction is the reason dirty water is sucked in threw the bottom, filtered threw the media, then expelled at the top as clean water.
Like the table, and think the filter fits. But, isn't the table a bit too top heavy? Would be easy to push it with your knees when sitting down or something. Maybe put a wider black wooden plate under the wooden box(?) Also, how do you clean the filter? Nice vid!
excellent video! really enjoyed watching it. couple of questions which may or may not have already been asked, the first is how much do you pay for your acrylic and where is the best place to buy it? and im curious, how do you intend to replace a blown bulb?! lol. thanks
I would have siliconed the beads all around the filter except the top so it was like a box of jewels in the middle of the tank... but I'm a girl so probably most would not do that lol.
@uarujoey You should make a video on how to make the filter. I would want to make one. Also would it work smaller for a small tank and bigger for a bigger tank?
you could also get rid of the cord if your ok eliminating the light and buying a battery operated air pump. again white clouds are awesome for unheated tanks. nice tank and as always great videos
Cool tank. Im just a little curious about the filtration you have in there. I know its only aesthetic and not too practical but do you actually have flow going through the filter?
@sewashoe The filter is a fluidized bed filter, housing K1 media. Fluidized beds are the most efficient filtration you can have on a freshwater aquarium. Water is flowing from the bottom, and threw the top.
love it! if i can maybe suggest, a power strip in the base fr those who dnt wanna duel wire the lights cord with the air pump, wich might add a place for us simplier folks (giggle) for a small heater if s wish., also since its not a planted tank what about a led lite strip under instead of the current lite.
yo man what thickness and type of acrylic did you use? and what would you say is the thinnest thickness you could use for a 90 gal coffee table aquarium? cheers!
@rippedtoshredds I used 12mm cell cast for this build. The thickness needed for your 90gal, depends on dimensions, and bracing. Use the calculator on my website and it will tell you what you need.
hi, loving all your uploads but was just wondering is it genuinely just the acrylic cement that holds it all together and create a watertight seal ? thanks
@mewmaster151 No, silicone on an acrylic tank is not needed. Their are no typical seams like a glass tank. Once the tank is welded together, the seams become one.
@uarujoey ok thanks, i kinda thought that it wouldnt be strong enough to hold all that water, but i trust youre opinion, you know what youre talking about, i think i may try a couple of youre ideas out, thanks for taking the time to upload youre videos :)

this is beautiful! would you think about selling these tanks? being that your using acrylic does it get all foggy, dull and scratchy looking with time?
joey good job you thought of everything it seems. dont worry im gonna draw a blue print for my tank and start building. yo since you know about fish you should try a aquaponic project.
@MegaCharlierock Thanks for the support. aquaponic project? Im already working on one. We'll see how it goes. currently growing the plants to test my design.... we'll see if it makes it to video or not.
Did/would you consider putting a hole or two in the bottom of the tank and do a wet/dry in the base? You could have more robust filtering and forgo even the air hose line.
@lifegrdmike Absolutly. I did think of it, and thought maintenance would be highly complicated . I thought the best idea was to go with an internal filter.
Awesome video man, But how big were all of those pieces of acrylic?? i would like to know because i would like to build the exact same one as you lol, its awesome!

@sewashoe The air bubbles rising cause water to be sucked in threw the bottom of the filter. That water then passes over the media, and out the top.
