I am the biggest fan of Ustad Zakir Hussain and I have studied his style a lot. His skills are unmatchable and hardly any other tabla player like him will be born in future. I have to say that even his own brothers dont stand equal to him.... only word that can explain Zakir ji is MIRACLE.
Zakirji has something that no other player has... a charm and skill in presenting his instrument like no other. It is this charm that has helped him gain an advantage over all other musicians of his generation.
ZAKIR IS THE BEST!!!! and zakir is very open to performing with his students and others!! he hased performed with rohan singh...and many other students there just are not videos out!
Cant blame anyone. Zakir's luv for his brother is totally blind. Zakir respects only his father and cares a penny for other great tabla players. He's cleverely jealous of his same-age guys. But still he's just fantastic.
@tapantabla There is no need for him to be jealous. He has done things NO OTHER tabla player has (successful fusion experimentation, incorporation of jazz and tabla, etc). After observing videos of other greats such as Kumar Bose, Anindo, Tari Khan, etc, it is clearly obvious that Zakir has a genetically natural ability to play tabla and understand rhythm. The thought that he is jealous of others is quite naive.
Fazal is really struggling, can't keep up with older brother. He should've followed his brother's foot steps and practiced instead of those girls. Zakir should dump this guy and get one of his students to perform with him.
