  • Sick of Americans playing British royals.

We have plenty of good British actors

    .

  • Ive seen so many interpretations of Anne. But I think Natalie Dormer played her excellently. Many actresses play her as either too passive and weak or too overbearing and strong. Natalie played a nice balance of strength and intelligence, interspersed with rashness. Which is probably closer to her real personality. I think many actors forget she was a human and treat her as a character and therefore dont give her a full emotional range. I was impressed with Natalies interpretation. :)

  • to me Natalie Portman is the best Anne Boleyn

  • Natalie Portman looks the part but the spark is missing.

  • @Iusedtobeacat93 She could be great playing Anne in the tudors..the other boleyn girl is just for 'fun'...no history at all....it's reaaally a lot away of it..

  • I hate it when they use American actresses to play British women and that's coming from an American. They just never seem to sound authentic enough.

  • She really was one of the most misunderstood people in history. May God bless her soul

  • who is it at 6:02?

  • @Broadway3

It is Jodhi May, remember her from "The Last of the Mohicans"?

  • @molarmama5 I know her, I saw Last of The Mohicans and her version of other Boleyn Girl, I was talking about the girl before her. The black and white where she takes off the crown and looks at it. It's just before Jodhi's part at the end of the video.

  • hey you for got the latest one, just saying

  • Owen you haven't given enough credit to Rampling.

  • Bonham Carter was the WORST portrayal of Anne of all time.

    SHOULD OF BEEN BANNED!

  • at 2:10, there is a double exposure, on the top of the frame, just off centre, towards the left, is a very clear image of a semi erect penis!

  • The interpretation of Miss Bujold is perfect.

  • Vanessa Redgrave was the best in my opinion

  • @Medusa0999 How can you say Vanessa was the best Anne Boleyn when all she did in the role was what you saw here in this clip? She looked out a window and giggled. That was her only scene in the movie. She didnt even have any lines.

  • @Pipe61 sorry i meant Charlotte Rampling, dunno why i said vanessa

  • Bujold and Dormer are the best Annes, followed by Tutin, then Bonham-Carter.

  • I say Natalie Dormer is the best Anne.

    Genevieve Bujold is Gorgeous!!

  • All have the wrong eyes! Either the wrong colour or the wrong shape. Where's the almond??

  • 1) Genevieve Bujold

    2) Natalie Dormer

    3) Helene Bohham Carter (Jane Grey for her was a great role, too)

  • This video is very nice!!! Good job!!!!

  • Natalie Dormer in my opinion is a terrible actress and her performance is horrendous. His upper-class accent is so fake! She is also very unattractive. I prefer, no doubt Genevieve Bujold

  • @ariascan2 Sorry! Her accent not his accent (English is not my native language)Anyway it's unbearable and awful

  • None of them fit. Blagh.

  • @twiwonder How would you know that? But you're right. Nobody can play Anne except Anne! They lack that certain something...

  • @Purkette What do you mean "how do I know?" I base my opinions off what I see, like any other person. And I've never seen a genuine Anne Boleyn. Helena is too sweet, for one thing.

  • @twiwonder What is a genuine Anne Boleyn? You have a feeling about her.

  • @Purkette Well, for one thing, she was not what you would call a "kind" person, an innocent little thing, or devoid of a desire for power. She was not "beautiful," either. The only reason Henry was attracted was because of her wit and the difference of her looks compared to mincing ladies at court. Look through history. Read the original letters. She was horrid to Mary, and a complete witch 2 Henry (although he was, too). Yes, it's a sad life. But I have yet to see an accurate portrayel.

  • @twiwonder How do you know she wasn't? I looked through history and reached a different conclusion. And Mary of course was sweet, gentle and kind.... with a little lamb. But I agree about the portrayal... I haven't seen the real Anne this century.

  • @Purkette I never said I KNEW for a fact. As I said, I base opinion of what I see. Documentaries, research--even novel's that aren't even historical all point to Anne as manipulative and conniving. And I believe them.

  • @twiwonder I don't. To me the evidence isn't enough to judge Anne on those counts. If we do, we aren't better than that panel of peers who condamned her to death... based on false evidence.

  • @lindenbrookes Well, that's your opinion, then

  • She looks like a real princess..beautiful

  • When is Vanessa Redgrave in a Man for All Seasons?

P.S., Isn't it funny how her daughter would eventually play Katherine Parr on The Tudors?

  • when was the first other boleyn girl made?

  • Jodhi May is terrible (the at 1:56 right? )

  • Im so jellous at the enligsh. You bring your history back to life. In Sweden our kings, queens and other characters of history never come to life on the cinemas.

  • natalie was way too nice and way too boring. Anne was a bitch and fascinating

  • I wish Anne had been allowed to marry Henry Percy.

  • Charlotte Rampling is the most beautiful Anne Boleyn, it's a pity the movie with her as Anne is so gard to find, i cant find it anywhere

  • Natalie Portman is an outstanding actress! I LOVE the medieval times despite its many disadvantages.

  • @musicalprodigy7

The time Anne lived in was referred to as " The renaissance" not medieval times.

  • Natalie Dormer and Natalie Portman and Genevieve are the best. I think Portman makes her look vindictive and bitchy but also sexy and ambitious but Genevieve is more feisty, but Dormer made her interesting and intelligent.

  • Natalie Portman was amazing but Natalie Dormer is my favorite Anne.

  • @cayyeme

i completely agree, Portman is great, but she cant compare to the beautiful Natalie Dormer :)

  • The best anne is NATALIE PORTMAN

  • I think that Genevieve and Natalie Dormer are the best Anne's.

  • @MerylStreep1536 I agree completely! They both nailed her beautifully, and playing her from different approaches too!

  • @MerylStreep1536 I could not agree with you more.

  • natalie portman is the best anne!

  • I disagree. I was not a fan of the movie at all - it was FULL of errors to the point where they were too distracting.

  • The movie is not too accurate, no, but Natalie Portman is still a brilliant actress. :)

Watch the miscarriage and execution and say that she can't act. (Not that you have, but some do)

  • @Skywalker91

I hated the execution scene in The Other Boleyn Girl.. the REAL Anne faced her execution with dignity and courage.. not shivering and sobbing as Natailie potrayed her.

  • La meilleure est Nathalie Dormer en tant qu'actrice, physiquement je dirai l'actrice de 4:10

  • and 5:50

  • who is is at 4:24

  • My fave is Dorothy Tutin. Good blend between belivable restraint and intensity. It didnt hurt that Tutin was beautiful!!

  • If by "best" you mean the most historically accurate, Natalie Dormer wouldn't be in the running. Yeah, Dormer is hot and sexy and plays the perfect vixen--but it's by today's standards.

  • don't be such an ass

  • Genevieve Bujold slays the competition. Greatest Boleyn, and the most provocative. That french flair!

  • Couldn't agree more. Anne of the Thousund Days, the Tudors and The Other Boleyn Girl (2008) were my favourite Annes

  • Natalie Dormer is by far the best Anne in my opinion.

  • i agree

  • Ah... and Ray Winstone played the best Henry :D

  • For me, Helena Bonham played the best Anne

  • Natalie Dormer is an amazing actress and she portrayed Anne the best!

  • I have to agree. I really felt the emotion this time.

  • Natalie Dormer made the most amazing Anne of all of them... :)

  • This is excellent, thanks!

  • if any pne knows were i can get infomation on the costumes used for this series plz send me a link

  • Natalie Dormor is my favorite Anne too.

  • Natalie Dormer is my fav!!! <3

  • I have to say, natalie dormer is my fave anne. She's nailed the fiery and intelligence of anne.

  • My favourites are Helena and Natalie Dormer!

  • Natalie Domer was superb, the best in recent days. The best performance ever was turned in by Genevieve Bujold.

  • Totally agree with you regarding Genevieve Bujold.

  • Natalie Dormer was just amazing! I was so sad when she had to leave the show... the Tudors is less interesting without her :( Jane is BORING.

  • Didn't like natalie portman's anne, prefered Natalie Dormer and Helena Bonham Carter

  • Natalie Dormer and Genevieve Bujold are my favorites. I swear, Genevieve was robbed of that Oscar she was nominated for.

Natalie Portman was OK. She could've been a bit more emotionally stronger, though.

  • I loved Jodhi May's spirited performance.

  • Natalie is the best...she really brings her to life!!!

  • I completely agree with the exception of Genevieve. They both in with Annes character exceptionally. They both have the passion, power, and zest for life. The rest fall short.

  • was Natilie Dormer even in this?

  • Natalie Dormer was pretty good. (^ ^)

  • Genevieve, Helena, and Natalie Dormer, and Charlotte

  • My favorite Anne's:

    Genevieve Bujold

    Dorothy Tutin

    Helena Bonham Carter

  • Thank you for posting this.

Very interesting. I love how through cinema history many women portrayed Anne in different ways.

  • rThe other bolyen girl is a fantastic movie you get to see her sisters side of things and her parents are more involved than in older films. I really really enjoyed that film. I have also done alot of study on anne and she is an insperation

  • I don't know. I'm not in very good spirits with that movie. There was a lot of soapy bull in it tho the performance by Portman was brilliant

  • Natalie Portman all the way she was straight boss man

  • Genevieve all the way.

  • this is great. there's just something about the story of anne boleyn that makes people want more.

  • Helena Bonham Carter is the best Boleyn there is.

  • We just watched Anne of a Thousand Days in my English Lit class and I completely loved it! Anne owns!

  • "I will go alone to my bed!" lol!

  • Genevieve Bujold rules over all! Shout out to Dorothy Tutin as well.

  • I have to say my two favs are Genieve and Natalie Dormer. I love this video by the way!

  • My favorite Anne is Natalie Dormer. I am a big fan of the Tudors. The show may have some things really inacurate, but there are some parts that show that the writers have done their research.

  • This was good but I think it would've been even better if you'd had the clips in chronological and said which actress/movie the clips were of in the subtitles. Just some advice. :)

  • Natalie Dormer all the way .

  • Amen.

  • That Amen was meant for the Natalie Dormer all the way comment. :)

By the way TheBullen1 I follow your videos and love them to pieces :D

  • Bujold and Portman the best for me.

  • Genevieve Bujold was my favourite. Not only was she beautiful but there was something very regal and aristocatic about her

  • vivat anna regina cool thank you

  • Genevieve Bujold for me without doubt. She captures something of her depth, intelligence and 'spark'. The French accent and devine costumes just add to the performance.

  • I totally agree.. Bujold is a close to the Anne that I know. I love her spark, her intellegence. I only wish that they had time to show her Religious and Political side.. but im just dreaming now! Oh and the costumes! Dreamy!

  • @damask001 when I imagine Anne Boleyn I always think of her as Genevieve, simply because, as you say, she really captures the essence of the Anne :) Sometimes she has been shown too greedy, or cruel. Perhaps she possessed these attributes, but some portrayals feel it necessary to make her inhuman, without feelings, or capable of kindess and so on!

  • Natalie Dormer did so well as Anne. I loved how she played her ((:

  • Natalie Dormer played her the best

  • Wow, this is also an amazing video. Which actress do you think portrays Anne best? I personally adored the performance of Natalie Portman

  • i'd have to go with either natalie dormer or dorothy tutin. natalie becuase she looks like anne boleyn would look(from portraits) and dorothy because she portrayed her emotions so well.

  • You should have watched the tudor series. Natalie Dormer is the best ever Anne! Although Portman is my second favourite.

  • This is very well done. Natalie Dormer makes a fine Anne.

Are you going to make a video of the portrayers of the Queens too?

  • WOW! great video, Although the movie and TV series respectively are historical rubbish Natalie Portman and Natalie Dormer both did great in the role of Anne. I also like how you included Julia Marsen from Starkey's six wives because i think she did a great job! Great Video!

  • Brilliant. Thanks soo much for posting this up. I'm fascinated by the Tutor period.

  • No problemo... me too.. love the Tudors, especially Anne. Cheers for watching

  • What a bunch of stone-cold foxes.

  • maybe i just didnt see her but where was Natalie Dormer? she is by far my favorite anne and i didnt see her =[

  • Hey there.. I personally didnt care for the Tudors portrayal of Anne, however i do appreciate Dormers performance of the script. I have included a few clips of her in Playing Anne Part Two.. as i felt the second series had a bit more factual information to use. I'm not a big fan of most of these portrayals, save Tutin & Bujold.. and some aspects of Rampling.. but its all a matter of taste! Thanks for watching!

  • Hey, glad u like! Yeah, pretty duckies gets me every time.. what a smooth talker! Oh he could have had me any time with his dirty talk!

  • I think it would be a perfect if they had included her more. Stunning stuning film. Yeah i did, the Redgraves facinate me.. amazingly tallented family. I did love Vanessa as Mary Stuart

  • Oh I couldnt leave her out! She is one of my fave actors... i think she could have played Anne amazingly if she had been given a real chance!

  • Thanks Nasim! That is praise indeed! You have made my day!
