thank god for the red lightsaber, this is filth. anyone who paid to go to this seminar got ripped off.. i'll tell you how to defend against a TKD slap kick for free, in the second third of chum kiu there is a movement with your right arm lowered at your side with your elbow making a 90* angle followed by a bong sau.. first move catches the kick the bong sau lift's their leg beyond the normal range of motion making them land on their head :) easy as pie.
@Hekikahni Sparring isn't all about winning, and I know both higher leverl and lower level can have benefit from working together. So, if you're ever in New Englad, or I'm out in Colorado, maybe we can get together. I still do want to try applications against your Tae Kwon Do kicks!
@Hekikahni I also have never met him personally, but I know a few folks that had met him. When I was living in Fort Collins, I met the instructor there, though I can't recall his name. He seemed like a nice guy, and the students were doing things I recognized. So, that's a good sign too!
@Hekikahni So, your teacher is Tony Galiano or one of his students? I've trained with/know many Pai Lum people from Florida up to Nova Scotia. I only know a few from the west/midwest.
@piccicacca: the shown kick represents more a Shaolin kick than a typical Tae Kwon Do kick we may agree on that. For demonstration and training purposes the kick shown represents a side kick..His hands are like they are to protect the groin and have a guard on top. This because in Shaolin Kung Fu counter attacks to the groin are allowed.as well as trows. Your Master is right from his point of view and you do best just to follow his instructions. Different Arts different methods.
Excellent opportunity for everyone to benefit. There are students all around the world so, whatever country you are in, there will be someone to try the kick out on. This will help us all to practice our sparring and confirm what works.
Let us know your name and where you are and we can help you find someone to spar with.
I am also a student of Grandmaster Wong. Sifu encourages us to engage in friendly sparring with practitioners of other styles. If you are serious about using Taekwondo, and would like to train, feel free to contact me as well. I am in the US, if Steve, in Australia, is too far for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you, and hopefully setting up some training times.
@Steve83584 the taekwondo kick wasn't very good. his hands were down and his fingers are all out.. my master trains us not to do that as it might get kicked in a clash resulting in broken fingers.. and i dont think you normally extend your kick when you kick in ANY martial art.. do you? you protect your head/face for any counter or your body i'm pretty sure.. correct me if im wrong! thanks guys! :D

the video is short and not meant for people who werent at the course. its just a reminder for those who were there. what he is saying is instead of moving away which will get you kicked hes saying move in as they kick and cover there legs. this is a demonstration of that for a sidekick but at the course he showed the same tecnique for over 12 kinds of kicks

@Hekikahni Nice! What state are you in? I did Pai Lum for 20 years before learning from Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit. I may know your teacher.
