  • i freaking love this plane and the mig15/17

  • "Wheels...HA, where we're landing we don't need wheels!

  • Amazing landing.

  • Wow, talk about grace under pressure: sheer talent!

  • Fail Audience.. Guy saves the plane and saves a disaster and no one gives a shit?

  • @DarkTenka

Doesn't say much for the spectators does it. My sympathies to his friends &

family. That's why vintage planes are so dangerous even for the best pilots.

  • dale snodgrass, he came to the airshow at smith reynolds in winston salem, nc a few years back.

  • why didnt he go on the grass to save ruining the metal!

  • Because Grass is bumpy and bumps are bad when u only have 2/3 wheels working on an F-86 sabre in motion.

  • thank god for wings tanks.... if he would crushed that right wing, the cost would be astronomical.... not like you can go down to the local cessna dealership to get spare parts for an F-86....

  • great job

  • that announcer seems to know the future..

  • That's why WE do all the training? what training did the airshow announcer do?

  • He trained announcing them safely to the ground without shouting 4 letter words when they land on a wheel or two and an aux tank. :)

  • Well, there's nothing to say that the announcer wasn't a trained display/professional pilot himself. Nothing to say he was either but given his statement ("we"), I'd take a punt that he was. I have no reason or evidence to doubt him. Anyway, it's irrelevant. Great bit of flying here.

  • Belly landings, wheels up. Kind of routine to watch now are they not? Does anyone even spill their coffee?

Plane comes in slow, there are a few sparks, plane stops. Every one says "wow" what a really great pilot he was. Ho Hum......

  • HE is a democrat, they have no respect for our military who protects us. That pilot is Sierra hotel! Great job!

  • I see your point, it's their job to do this but this was no belly landing, this was a one wheel landing with all the asymetrical crap going on and the risk of ground looping, cartwheeling and other fine opportunities to f..k up the job. Even though it's so much routine for you to watch this that you don't even see that this wasn't "belly landings, wheels up" at all, it's certainly not routine for the actual pilots.

  • Who's the pilot?

  • and what makes you think that being a red neck is a good thing? who someone votes for is none of your business. the fact that they watch this vid means they have some level of interest in aviation and the military.

  • I think you replied to the wrong comment, I have no idea what you are talking about... sorry.

  • yeah whoops sorry :)

  • I think that the tree was red. You know, those dudes painted the tree each other.

  • That was Wyatt Fuller. A dear friend of mine. Unfortunately he crashed about a month after this airshow and was killed leaving Hickory, NC for Oshkosh.

  • srry for your loss

  • I thought this might have been Darryl Snodgrass until I saw your post. Condolences on loss of a friend.

  • @dpiddycanfly I remember that. Was very saddened. If I remember correctly, wasn't this the same year the Hughes Racer went down following Oshkosh?

  • mabe this was shot away from the crowed thats why u could not here them as well . at least I hope so. I would be chearing for someone who was able to land that so great

  • perfect pilot!!!!! thats what i saw..

  • I used FSX to simulate similar failures. I landed the shuttle with no nose gear!

  • Man. That is a real shame that pilot died in a later crash. =( Great landing on this one.

  • He did? I dont recall.

  • He did? I dont recall.

  • could the crowd be any less enthusiastic!!! lmfao..good job man.

  • nothing some duct tape wont fix!!

  • That's a pain to see.

    A classic, in shambles.

  • and see montgomery advertiser its the news paper for montgomery, alabama

  • that happen at maxwell afb no he didnt die i was ther and befor the landing he was "dog fighting" with a mig

  • I guess he waisted 8 of his 9 lives. As I a pilot I would love to die flying because it is what makes me happy, snd I am sure Wyatt felt the same way. May he rest in peace.

  • when was he killed?

  • no he didnt

  • Wyatt Fuller was killed when he failed to stop his F-86 Sabre after an engine problem during takeoff at the Hickory Regional Airport, NC.

It happened between 11:30 and 12 Noon on Monday, 24 July 2006.

It was a tremendous shock to those of us here who knew him.

  • so this guy is dead or not?

  • the guy is dead or not?

  • Yes, sadly, he died in a later accident in this same aircraft.

  • i hope they were able to repair such a beautiful and classic aircraft.

  • Expert Pilot, Ladies & Gentle Men. Landing on Fuel Tanks!

  • it was empty

  • But I supous that pilot had dropped all the fuel before.

  • Those drop tanks were empty.

  • you bet

  • Wyatt was a great guy and a great pilot. Sad to see a great pilot and great airplane go.

  • the announcer sounds like Bob Hope

  • yes great landing.

    RIP Wyatt

  • The same pilot, Wyatt Fuller crashed this same plane soon after this. RIP

  • That was a great landing - I'm sorry to hear he crashed.

  • didnt it have an ejection seat or he just didnt get to use it ? Suxs !

  • I believe he had one..just happened right after takeoff (no time to react) while he was departing for EAA Airventure 2006 in Oshkosh, WI.

  • ahh I see. Thank's!

  • Pilots ALWAYS try to land the plane first, they will only eject if they have no other choice, they always save the plane

  • He has gone with his wing passion, so god bless him ! God bless Wyatt Fuller, one exceptionnal pilot that did so much for it's country !!!
