2. There is also a Flower Essence called Rescue Remedy that works to reduce anxiety and stress. I've used Clomicalm, Ovarid and Rescue REmedy on various cats with very good results.
1. Hi Thomas, we have something in Australia called Clomicalm and it works really well for cats who bite and harm themselves. It comes in two strengths. Also, there is something called Ovarid but it is quite strong and the cat's kidneys need to be monitored. Because Alera has urinary problems and infections already, the Clomicalm would most likely be best.
Hi Thomas. :-) Alera certainly looks better, feisty! When my kitty Cassie used to over-groom and bite her fur until she got bald spots, they put her on a once-daily pill called "Ovaban". It was a hormone I think and it calmed her down and stopped the over-grooming, biting and hair loss. We ground up the pill and put it in her food every day. She did much better and we took her off it after some weeks. :-)
Wow!!! What a difference a couple weeks makes! :-) Thomas, the stuff is called Bitter Apple. It even has it's own website. Go To BitterApple dot com. Alera looks great. I hope the vet finds something to help prevent Alera from biting himself.
