Look moviebizman, if you're not supposed to take lipo packs past 6 minutes, why do you suppose people buy them with all that risk when they can get the same with nimh? I think you've mistaken your asshole with a hole in the ground? Might have been the cemetary setting? LOL
From the way it is flying, looks like it is going to flip over and crash anytime soon. You know you don't have to go far to bury IT or whatever it kills. Go get a belt driven heli my friend.
a helimax axe cp killing something? get a clue. if you were wise enough to read descriptions, you'd know it was extremely windy and cold that day. I think it flew fine considering the bad conditions.
you have to ask? are the gravestones in the background not enough of a clue? how about the video title that says "flying in cemetery"? or maybe the video details that say "in the cemetery"?
the stock 9 cell 650mah NIMH will get you only about 4 to 6 minutes at the most. LIPO is the best way to go. expect from 12 to 15 minutes on a 1200-1350mah 3cell LIPO, depending upon your type of flying (low power hovering vs full throttle 3d).
first let me say i'm not disagreeing with or discrediting you, but i have never heard of this, from retailers or pilots... could you provide some text sources? i'd like to look into that. thanks.
Where do your "pilot" sources fly? What retailer do you visit? Some hobby shops don't know crap. Some know more than you can imagine. What do they fly? Go to any flying field and they will tell you the same. I'll have to look into text sources that say so.
When you start buying batteries that cost upwards of 100 dollars you'll really care and maintain them to perfection. I have 10 LiPos (Thunder Power and Align) What kind of charger and balancer do you own? That's why my transmitter (Spektrum DX7)(cost 350) and most transmitters have timers that beep to tell you when to land.
hopefully very soon here... broke a tail rotor the other day and i'm still waiting on parts. as soon as my friends and i get back outside somewhere to fly, i hope to get some footage of more than just dull hovering.
electrics can do everything nitros can do and if ya dont believe that, then a few searches around youtube will prove it. i'm loving mine. gonna get some more vids up ASAP as i've been doing more forward flight, and just today successfully hovered inverted for the first time! w00t
i agree, im tired of dealing with my nitro plane. my axe cp is coming in the mail tomorrow im going to see if i like the electric helis. im pretty interested into switching it to lipo's though, no reason not to use the technology available, the nimhs are outdated.
Look closely! I think I see a ghost!

fly a lipo until you notice a decrease in power, then land, 6-12 mins depending on the pack

You're not supposed to take any LiPo past 6 minutes or 10 volts. You'll ruin the battery.
Ask anyone that flies T-Rex 450 SE V2s that pays a hundred bucks (and these are 11.1V, 2200mAh, 20C)
per battery. Or who has an electric T-Rex 600 that pays Two hundred and thirty bucks per battery.
Just because you CAN fly that long, does not mean you're supposed to.

You still haven't answered his question. Where are the sources to your statements?
You can get the 950mAh Lipo for $29 at your LHS. You can find extremely cheap Lipos on ebay. I found a 2200mAh 20C for $33 shipped.
