Ahh, talk about memories. I was in that mud pit in '94. Waited forever for NIN to play after Crosby, Stills, and Nash finished. They had a special person coming to announce them and he was late. Anyone remember Larry "Bud" Melman on Letterman? He announced NIN. I got bored waiting and went to watch Primus on the other stage and came back for NIN. They are covered in mud because it took so long for them to play that they got restless and became "mud people". Can't do Woodstock without mud.
Man, if there ever were a band I would have sacrificed my left ball to see live and witness its greatest era, it would be NIN in the late 80's/ early 90's.
At a time when grunge was still yet to erupt and hair metal was fading away, came this genius of a guy with Pretty Hate Machine. I wonder what it was like to be one of the few who already at that time understood what NIN stood for, bought this LP and then kicked off the fifth track on their stereo. Must have been unreal.
i agree with seemless trent was a god back then. In 1990 pretty hate machine was an anthem in my small ohio town. I used to wear my sin shirt from a concert NIN played with die warzau and most people didn't know who NIN was. Now there concerts don't have even close to the energy. Awesome performance at woodstock, even though Trent says they sucked, he should watch his band play now LOL!!!
@seemless1134 This is when he wanted to die and didnt give a shit, of course that brings out a lot of emotions as you can tell by his songs. I like his new stuff as well, it's more calm but its still labelled by Trent.
Thanks, not to sound all soft but it was rough. But you deal with the situations and move on.Or if your Trent you write this killer song and make a few million.I heard his wife and kid were killed in a car accident thus (Pretty Hate Mechine)If thats true im sure he would pick the family over money any day.May be my girl and i will work things out maybe not.But if we dont ill slap in some NIN and think of what could have been but was not to be.Life moves on.
I write songs all the time when I'm mad, angry, sad, depressed, upset. It's the best way for me to vent my emotions. But when I write songs, I still feel down.
I remember hearing the piano part when I was 5 or 6 in my dads car when he had PHM on cassette. I never heard the song again till I started collecting NIN stuff. I picked up Year Zero and started going through all of there stuff and remember seeing the PHM album cover and thinking "this looks familiar". I bought the CD and listened to the whole album. When it got to this song it just fucking hit me hard. The nostalgia was fucking epic.
To think i liked this song when I was 5 or 6 and didnt know wtf this song was about. Now being 12 years older it all makes sense and its such a deep fucking song that eats me up inside.
there was only two real woods as far as i CARE 69, and 94, marked two generations, the 90s, were so intense, cinema arts music, new styles, cant believe kids now cant relate to anything from then good music, cinema or fashion, the whole message of freedom and creativity that the generation before left... now its just fag hip hop 50 cent music, the name is just right, the whole music from this decade is worth about 50 cents all together... just crap, not even good porn movies sound
@badsign1980 I agree dude, I grew up in the 90's and it was a buzz of exciting music, film, culture and being part of it as a teenager was just ace. NIN were the band that really got me into music as an art form and something worth following and being a part of...along with Sepultura, Pantera and other bands that blew me away.
The whole band was down in the mosh pit with the crowd watching the band before them. they crawled right out of the mud-pit and straight onto the stage to play it was insane. that is why they are all muddy!
I watched this live on the cable pay-per-view. you paid like 50 bucks to watch the whole woodstock live of 3 days straight un-interupted. I recored it all on multiple vhs tapes.
woodstock 99... like 4 girls got raped here and im sure there was a bunch of other violence.. a huge event none the less... but yea.. like some girl got raped in the middle of the mosh pit for limp bizkit... bunch of wiggger primates.. ide like to nuke them all... NIN is cool though.. trent is honest about his intense feelings for women.. ive meet chicks that have meet him they said he was such a gentleman. and cool
this song dosnt remind me of women at all.. besides the lyrics of course but the musical notes do not... so i can kinda tune out the words and have it not remind me of women so much.. cause honestly. im having a beer ide rather just think about a nice hole.. and legs.. rather than women problems.. these lyrics are intense lol.... im starting to scare myself.. woo trent dont kill her.. u dont need her its ok lol
Why did Trent get rid of Danny? I can understand leaving Robin but Danny is fucking amazing and he has so much talent I'm not saying that Twiggy sucks because I like him too it's just that I really love Danny
I saw the tour with the Jim Rose circus also but it was PWEI (Pop Will Eat Itself) that was with them in Chicago. That was the best concert I have been to out of the many. Do not know what I would do without growing up to NIN.
Ho's make this, all go away. Im down 2 just 5 things, and Im starting 2 like myself. Its survival of the fittest. Associate with me and B strong. Love the other and get burned. Everywhere I look, all I C, is a fading f'in reminder, of the bleeding heart thats week. This is nothing that I can never have. HE said remember me, The way U R not supposed 2 B. C'mon, I tell U!
my first concert was seeing NIN and Marilyn Manson and Freak Show at the Spectrum in Philly. It was like my 11 or 12 birthday. Seeing MArilyn Manson get sodomized on stage at 11 was quite an experience. But I loved NIN...changed my life.
Danny looks alittle bit messed up here. Oh well, they were great that way, messed up, unpredictable, emotionally unstable. Much more "show" before sobriety.
