Why don't you use a virtual system on your Windows OS? That the best way I can think of. If something goes wrong, reinstall your vistual OS and you're done. :)

Many windows games can be player in Linux with wine (windows emulator) and there are many native Linux games both commercial and free. You just have to search on Google.

Wine is a good emulator of compability but he can't support heavy software like windows
