  • This is a Model 5, because of the slow wind up.

  • model 7 definately

  • That's stupid that they replace the old historical windows with those cheap vinyl double hung windows.

  • I know its a Federal Signal but i dont know the model.

  • Fuck that town I hate it.

  • This is a Federal Signal Model 7

  • yup, thats a sentry

  • I'm thinking that this siren is either a Federal STL-10 or an STH-10. It is defiantly not a Federal 2001 because its Dual Toned, 2001s aren't dual toned. It maybe possible that its a Sentry/Sterling but usually the Sentry Sirens are not quite synced together. So I'm leaning it to being either a Federal STL-10 or a STH-10

  • Could also be an STH-10 or a Sterling.

  • I am willing to bet this is a Model 7. It might be a 2001 but it is lower toned than the 2001's in your videos and I could not tell if it rotates.

  • I would put it above the clock. Is that the original siren and the 2001's are newer?

  • It is definatley a Model 7 and what part of the tower is the siren in?

  • @jackviolet21 Right below the clock.

  • @rickapril04 its a sentry 10v2t

  • wait thats actually a sentry. i think

  • wait thats actually a sentry.

  • sdth 10

  • it cant be a rotating one, and the sound winds up like a 2001, not sure. the ratatior could be broken. also what was with the bell going off in the middle, if it is a 2001 and it is rotating it might have hit the bell.

  • awesome 2001!

  • My guess that it is either a sterling or model 5/7.

  • Its either a model 5 or a sth-10. Those are my guesses.

  • omgi live here and yea i see the courthouse almost every day wow....okay now i know what to listen for.

  • STH-10 or Model 5

  • SOUNDS SCARY TO ME..I WOULD BE HIDING UNDER MY BED!

  • Sounds just like a Federal Model 3 or 5.

  • It's got to be an older Fedelcode 5 with an Iron Stator.

  • in the begining it sounds like sum 1 is takin a whiz..O.o

  • Model 5 maybe?

  • Model 5

  • model 5

  • It's a Model 5 but it's one of those early Iron Rotor ones.

  • Comment removed

  • It's a model 3.

  • the model 3 is too high pitched so it cant be a model 3

  • That's got to be ether a Model 3 or 5.

  • i'm pretty sure it is a type 2 1000T tornado siren. but i heard a different horn in the background so there might be two.

  • model five with broken brushes

  • I am willing to bet this is a Model 3.

  • its a Model 5 in need of repair replacement or rebuilt.

  • its a Model 5

  • bellefontaine sucks i lived there for 3 years

  • .............

  • no I don't think it's a model 2t.

that sounds like a signal tone siren.

it might be a federal signal model 2.

  • I would have to say a model 3

  • I don't care what that siren is.

I JUST LIKE THE SOUND OF IT.

    it sounds funny!

  • it might be a T-128.

  • it is an ACA screemer.

  • that siren it's gotta be an ACA screamer.

  • it could also be an ACA screamer.

  • it's realy dumb that they would put a siren

    in their. I think that's a 3T22.

  • @mcwario13 definately not. Model 3 or 5.

  • this is a model5 siren that is used for tornado

  • I think it's a federal model 2T.

    not a model 5.

  • it kind of sounds like a 2001.

  • Haha, I can't help but notice it sounds like someone is urinating behind the camera in the very beginning! Cool vid, very unique sound.

  • I think the siren is a federal model 5.

when i first watched it that's what i thought.

  • I was thinking it could be a Thunderbeam but more and likely it is a model 5

  • Sounds like a Model 5 a little.

  • I ment they aren't synced together with the two chooper sections.

  • Thats is definatly a Sentry Siren. Its dual tone but with sentrys the two sections are really syncd together. Look up other Sentry sirens you will see what I mean.

  • This is most definitely not a Sentry. The siren in this video is a 12 port siren and Sentry only produces 8, 10, 15, and 16 port sirens. Also, whatever siren is installed here has to be old and Sentry didn't exist until around 1980. Before that they were Sterling Siren and they only produced 8 and 16 port sirens. No 12 port sirens.

  • This is a very nice town

  • It might be a broken 2001 although it may be one of those high pitched thunderbolts.

  • I think it would be a waste of money to enclose a 2001 in side the tower. So I don't think it is a FS 2001 in there.

  • The wind up sounded a little slow to be a 2001.

  • maybe its underpowered? plus, maybe it isnt a 2001, it doesnt sound directional.

  • The difference between the Model 3, 5, and 7 is only the horsepower and rotor size. The 3 has a 3 horsepower motor, 5 has 5hp, and 7 has 7hp. They all have the same number of ports (unless it's an 8 port model which is rare and not the case here). They all sound the same, just louder as the horsepower and chopper size increases. Darleys are just Federal sirens with a different housing so there's no real sound difference.

  • Do you think they would put a 2001 inside the tower of the court house? I did not notice any rotating. The sound was consistant to omni directional. I might try to get a tour of the court house and see if they would let me up to snap a pic.

  • Most likely an old "heavy rotor" Model 5 or perhaps an STH-10.

  • Rick, That has to be a Federal Signal 2001. It sounds like the siren in your other video which is also a 2001.

  • It's possible, along with being a Federal Model 3, 5 or 7, that it may also be a Federal Lion dual headed siren.

  • The Lion hits this same "F" note as most Federal sirens do, but it has a faster rise/fall and isn't this loud.

  • I want to say it's a really old Federal Signal Model 3, 5, or 7. There's really no way to tell without looking. Thanks for these. I've been through there quite a few times and I've never been able to find any of there sirens. Where all are their sirens and do you know what models they are? I know there's a 2001SRN at the High School.

  • Did you see my other video? It's that siren at the high school.

  • Yup, I saw that video. Are there other 2001s that you know of around Bellefontaine?

  • Wait, my bad. I just saw the post where you said that this is the only 201 you know of around there.

  • No just the 2. There are other sirens in surrounding villages

  • Yeah I know of a Whelen WPS-2805 in Huntsville, but that's the only other one I know of. I'd think that because of the size of Bellefontaine, and the frequency of the severe storms they get, that they'd have more.

  • Cool video.
