It's a shame that the Sega Master System version never contained the 4th level, as I've never reached or played there. When I played in the arcades, I wasn't skilled enough to get to that point at that age. I'd love to see a re-release of the Sega arcade port.
The only arcade game i was really good at. I could pass all four levels over and over again and even flip the score board. To play it properly you MUST have the actual arcade flight stick joystick setup =)
@thesman32 I completed the original on the Atari 800 computer. I also rescued every possible person. This is one of the first games that was actually ported to the arcade after being a home game first. I am going to try this version after watching the video.
I made it to the 4th sortie... once. The 3rd sortie was just too overwhelming. The bubbling lava, stalactites, and 6x6 mobile rocket launchers killed me dead everytime.
The 4th sortie was even worse. The hovering cannons that harrass you during hostage pick-up drove me nuts! Thanx for the upload!
Loved this game when I was younger. :)

To this day, I still remember that sinking feeling deep in the pit of my gut whenever I got shot down with a full load of hostages.

@Arjay9975 did you at least hit the buttons to get them to bail out with parachutes?

I have seen this game being played at arcades when I was younger, but hardly ever played it because it was too hard for me...

Brilliant, one of my all time favorites.
Never did get to the last level.
A very underated game imo.

this game always makes me think of Iraq

@NadrianATRS I think this game was actually supposed to be about Iran. It was made a few years after the American hostages were being held in Tehran
