  • hey Rainman,,, i have a 12 in male @ 1 1/2 lbs .. will he spawn with my smaller females 4-5 inches without hurting them? How do you feel about lip removal on the male? i am afraid he will terrorize the females even with plenty of hiding places for them,, your thoughts please.. thanx

  • question: my tank has 20 fish in it. I am not 100% sure who the males are but I am starting to see that one larger one is on one side of the tank and the other larger one is on the other side of the tank and they keep all the other fish in the middle. It's like the two fish are territorial and snip at anyone that tries to come to their side so the 18 are stuck only in the middle and not free to swim anywhere cause of the aggressive ones in each "end zone." What is happening? Any idea?

  • WTF happened to its mouth???

  • these fish are bad like carp!!

kill them while you still can.

  • @jpcqw Tilapia are a huge benefit to all other fish species in ANY body of water that will annually reach water tempreatures of 50 degrees F and will greatly increase the potential biomass the water can support. Tilapia are NOT an invasive species, nor a threat to any native plant or animal in these waters.

I appreciate your comment, although it is based purely on inaccurate information.

  • With fish this large how much do you feed and how often? Also what do you feed? I just started my own tilapia tank?

  • cool, my dad caught a blue tilapia in loxahatchee

  • Eat those guys for supp

  • Whats the tank temperature for that tank specifically?

  • What do you feed these fishes? I assume these guys live in freshwater?

  • All 60,000 of my tilapia exclusively fed Purina Aquaxax diets. Yes, they live in freshwater. They can tolerate full strength seawater but won't spawn in it.

I can be reached at triplew dot TilapiaStockers dot comm

  • Where can I buy some tilapia? Can I buy some from you? If so where are you located?

I am in Canada, Ontario, a little north of Toronto.

I've been searching online for a couple days for tilapia brood stock, and cannot find a supplier.

I am just interested in raising a few and breeding a few.
