lol it takes time to adapt or gain an accent...I have friends from abroad that has parents that been here for decades and still have a thick accent.....I also lived in the north for a few years and still have a slight southern mid-atlantic drawl lol...it takes time, and some people catch on quicker than others...and many people choose not to pick up a new accent so they stick with their phrases, enunciation, and dialects, and cleverly mixing it into the common style of speech...
