Selfish Chinese prick. Comparing China to usa. Compare to france and it costs there less than the states. You idiots dont get time off work like slaves.
the corporation with the least amount of bureaucracy gets more business (all else being equal). Profit drives the corporation to help the consumer. They only care about money, the only way they can make money without government is through MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL trade.
Especially when they get kicked out of hospital care because there are no beds. No Home Care funds left. No money Left. One day you guys will be old and there will be nothing left. We have seen people die horribly in 2 countries now. Your fate will be worse. Just wait...
You guys cite stats from LA Raza, La Mecha, Acorn, Liberal and Left websites. Try actually living the reality! You may not have any respect for the older generations but they have payed taxes for 60 years, served in three wars and freed much of Europe, AND they get no thanks.
You guys either don't read history and talk to some of the millions of us who've lived through the failures of gov't run healthcare/banks/institutions/businesses,etc. OR your education has been filtered through the lens of altered textbooks and agenda-driven teachers/professors.
Crock of...wrong, wrong. You obviously have never lived in CA or Canada. We have. Allowing rampant immigration DOES run an economy into the ground.
The value they add, is that they provide cheap labor that generates a lot of economic value. When they work for 1/2 or 2/3 of what a legal immigrant/citizen will, their employer saves tons of money, which he can use to expand his business.. all of which he pays more into the county/state/fed tax coffers for. Consumers come out on top too.
I don't know the specific states, just saying that its an equation that isn't measured solely by services received.
How much of your annual state & county taxes goes into healthcare, education, policing, etc for illegal workers?
If your kitchen remodeling costs 1/2 or 1/3 of what it normally would, b/c cheap labor and cheap immigrant-produced supplies make.. does that savings come close the fraction of your taxes that go to immigrant-used services? Same savings for your employer's landscaping, cheap seamstressing, etc
For those that do pay in through their paychecks, they actually cover some who don't, b/c they don't file tax returns.
I don't like the illegal immigrants absorbing services w/o paying in. I get sick of people saying "build a fence" or "lock them up", b/c both of those solutions cost more than smart direct assistance to illegals, and smarter foreign aid & trade policy (that spurns their national economies, so they don't immigrate.)
TB screening, free clinics for check ups.. stuff that spots probs before they end up in an ER costing tens of thousands. ESL teachers to help kids assimilate. Teen intervention to catch substance abuse, teen pregnancy. Outreach for domestic abuse, etc.
Sounds like a handout, but cheap compared to jailing, maintaining a 700 mile fence, etc.
Cheaper even if churches do it. Sounds unnecessary, in history, all male-dense immigrant working pops have these probs, esp when treated like outsiders.
Well, its looking like the taxation will fall on the small percentage of people who hold 90% of the nation's wealth. As the economy changes, we'll see if that sticks.
If you buy the numbers that the Admin and CBO support, reform w/ a public option will only come to around $30+ billion over ten years, the rest coming from reduced costs/efficiencies, competition, etc.
That 'immigrants take more than they give' is kind of a misnomer. Their cheap labor generates far more economic gain than they take in resources, plus many are taxed in their paychecks.
I've worked in food service, and you can't run a restaurant w/o them. You can't find 10 responsible Americans that will work an 11 hour shift till 1am, for $8/hr. Maybe now that the economy is changing, which is what we're seeing, and is the reason that immigration is declining.
I don't know healthcare well enough to speak on tort reform.
I'm for smart regulation in a lot of areas, including regulating their non-insurable terms. What I am tired of, is seeing the discussion reduced to misleading simplicities -- 'people who aren't insure are lazy', 'if medicare isn't breaking even, why do they think this will?'
If you are anywhere on the Autism spectrum for instance, you can't get insurance. That means, even w/ the mildest Autism, you must pay cash & be financially destroyed if you're in a car accident.
Daniel Tammet, the British math savant, who is Autistic but a totally normal engaging successful self-supported married adult, would not the receive the simple assistance that helped him develop beyond his Autism barriers, or the car accident that'd ruin him.
Here's one beef I have with the simplified "If Medicare can't turn a profit or break even, how can this plan?"
Simple answer - because the people on Medicare are the elderly, who consume the vast majority of heath service.
Who's health care costs more, your 7 yr old who gets vaccinations, the occasional check-up and antibiotic prescription, some stitches, and maybe breaks a bone before they're 18...
...or Grandma, who keeps a dozen constant prescriptions, frequent specialist visits...
What do you know about Constitutional Law? Let me guess you think there's still 10 Amendments in our Constitution. Let me ask you something, if you're running a business do you succeed by charging only the minimal amount or do you charge a tax? The same implies to an economy, if you want to create jobs, expand Healthcare, and expand education we need a balanced tax set of taxes whether we like it or not, in fact paying taxes should be considered patriotic. So are you patriotic?
We spend double per capita compared to the Netherlands, Germany, Norway...yet don't cover everyone. It has doubled in the last ten years, the deficit, which was balanced when Bush came to power, went through the roof while not dealing with any important issue, health, education, ... Barack has been in office only 6 months. I'd be happier if he was more involved in the writing. Republicans should be at the table, lets make the bill better, we need it NOW.
Nice to hear from a immigrant who is legal and speaks the language quite well. I have neighbors from the Ukraine. They are scared and know what is going on. They went through communism once. Now they fear it again. This didn't start with Obama though. He is continuing a long line of bullshit that has been happeneing for decades now.
So I'm watching these protest videos of dumb rednecks yelling and being real brave while surrounded by other rednecks ..but then I came across the one of Rep. Donna Edwards and the only peep out of the NASCAR fans was some old white guy asking politely about tort reform. Why the civility?...half of that room was black people...hehehe, I guess the white trash knew that if they wanted to still be able to chew their food and walk with a normal gait that it might be a good time to shut the fuck up.
I have a cave on my property in New Mexico where these people can hide until the Second Coming arrives and proves how truly special they really are. There are some folk camped out in there now who fled Mississippi in 1968 when godless integration was forced on them by the socialist government of that time, but it's a big enough cave. There's room for more. Join us.
The reason the white trash rednecks (aka right wing base) are so loud and confident at the rallies is because they have health insurance....for when they get their fat big-boned jaws broken for not shutting the fuck up. The healthcare reform proponents can't afford health coverage let alone an assault charge or misdemeanor fine for beating on some stupid ass health insurance company conformist weasel.
what's the biggest freaking deal of a government run health care system? It's not like it's something new, it wasn't until Bush came along that Health care became privatized, and now we are screaming because we don't want privatized health care, so Obama goes in and and tries to reinsert government regulation as the way it was before and now we are screaming over that? You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't
*sighs* So sad... "it wasn't until Bush came along that Health care became privatized"; So then things like Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Kaiser Permanente, The local Family Practice, your local General Practioner for example, did not exist before Bush came into office. It's not reform that people are upset about. It's the legislation and the contents of the bill itself. One should really research the issue in it's entirety before posting extended diatribes.
Then why haven't you done your research, since you already know the legitimacy of the doc, surely you don't oppose a public healthcare system to spread the wealth
What????? Omega, what are you talking about???? Health care became privatized under Bush???? This is the kind of ignorance that scares the hell out of me.
The doctor at the beginning made a good point about corruption in government-run healthcare. There is $60 BILLION in Medicare/Medicaid fraud per year.
Hate to break this to you, but there's corruption in privatized health now, why do you think these insurance companies are dictating everyone's coverage, there's going to be corruption anywhere you go, the only thing you can do is walk on the straightest path
every state has mandates they follow just as car insurance. every time a mandate is added your premium goes up. due to the legislators voting on what might seem well intended ends up costing your state residents more for personal health coverage
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, Obama's healthcare adviser, would have been comfortable under Hitler's Third Reich
Dr. Emanuel wrote "Savings will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).
"We must eliminate useless feeders from our midst." Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf
See its not about the fake numbers and polls they take. There isn't 47 or 50 or whatever million people w/out care. But its not about insurance, its about the quality of our care. IT maybe cheap in other countries but it sucks. Our care maybe costly but its good care. So we wann destroy our healthcare and our insurance just to become like Russia. Of course you socialists won't agree with that cause your out of your minds. Cause I'm talking to you communists out there.
The woman speaking at 4:52 has a horse in the race.
She's advocating the position that the customer with 18 yr old children be allowed to CONTINUE PAYING (presumably Her,) why should anyone listen to her ??
Where do I start? First, the US has never been, nor will it ever be like China. Republican propagandists find one person, generally a whack job that represents an extreme, and then parade them as if they are the norm. Second, there are many countries, including Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, etc. that seem to be fine with a benign brand of socialism and they are happy and live forever.
Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks regulation is a good thing, I mean look at the Internet for example, why do you think we have so much problems with viruses, it's because we will rebel if we try to regulate it, that's what happened with the Napster case and look at the music industry now, MTV has stopped playing music videos, you never see very many new releases, we as a society will be the ultimate cause for our own depression should it happen
