EVERYBODY SHUT UP! IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE TUTORIALS ON YOUTUBE THAN GO TAKE YOUR STUPID COMPLAINTS SOMEWHEREELSE! I CAN'T STAND GOING TO EVERY TUTORIAL ON YOUTUBE AND SEE SOME BABY WHINE ABOUT "stop revealing magic. Waaa!"
And people who sell tutorials are any better? Tutorials like this give people motivation to further the art because they cannot rely on what they already know, and have to come up with new ideas. I applaud people who make tutorials.
It doesn't matter who reveals it, or who sells it. If professionals reveal secrets, it's okay, but while a kid reveals it, it's suddenly wrong? Who says the amount of talent one has determines the right of someone to reveal knowledge they learnt? This person is trying to give people the gift of amazing people, and there is nothing wrong with that. People who reveal are not destroying the art, but sustaining it. If no secret was revealed, magic would have been lost centuries ago.
When an amature teaches something it is usually taught poorly, and therefore learned poorly. All of the subtlties of the trick are largely left out. None of the masters of magic got to be masters by learning from amatures. Van Gogh didn't learn to paint froma an amature. He was an aprentice to a master painter.
@erk13z Another point is that this is stealing intelectual property. I am a profesional artist and if someone copied my paintings, and sold them they would be quite litteraly robbing me. Taking food off of my table. I doubt you be very happy if someone did that to you. Just my oppinion though.
@23Solo Almost everybody has access to libraries where you can go and borrow lots of books on magic for free. Whenever I couldn't aford to purchase some new magic I'd go to a library. Now you might think "What's the difference if you learn it for free on youtube, or if you learn it for free at a library?". The difference is that the books, and DVD's you can borrow from the library are likely written by professionals who will teach it far better than an amature.
@erk13z the problem is that in my country, libraries (at least the ones I have access to) don't have that kind of stuff....magic is not very commum here
@23Solo I see. Well then in that case my advice would be to at least look for tutorial videos from someone more profesional. Learning from profesionals will teach you more than just the moves. You'll learn presentation, patter, proper angles, possibly when, and where to perform the trick, and much, much more. So if you must learn from youtube, please look for this type of info in the tutorial. A video that shows just the mechanics of a trick is not a proper tutorial.
haha sweet deck, i have the black bicycle shadow masters deck, I will post a vid of me doing a trick with it so yall can see. Its all of these decks by ellusionist are a must buy! haha they are amazing!
Sadly not, because that's not an "in your face change" that's the Houdini change and unfortunately Ehric Weiss (Houdini to you and me) has been dead for many many years...
That is the In your face change. Created by mistyman0013 who is selling the change for about $5-10 bucks on a web. Houdini change is the one where you pull down the card and slide it up.
Well, First off, its an OK tutorial... you don't look like you are all that practiced for it yourself. And you should be able to end clean without dumping it back on top again, there are ways to get it to the bottom. It's almost like your are revealing the WRONG way to end it persay.
nice

usually the people who sell them are professionals... not a 6 year old kid who learned it 15 mins before uploading it on youtube...

@WispsOfLight It comes down to a few points.
When an amature teaches something it is usually taught poorly, and therefore learned poorly. All of the subtlties of the trick are largely left out. None of the masters of magic got to be masters by learning from amatures. Van Gogh didn't learn to paint froma an amature. He was an aprentice to a master painter.

Nope, I think what you're describing is the "Erdnase" colour change. The card change shown here is definitely credited to Houdini.
