Because it is a lateral, the pitch backwards is credited as a rush to the runner who has the ball last. The shovel pass is credited as a pass and receiving yards because the ball moves forward. Obviously, if the QB keeps the ball, he is credited with a run.
Ok im confused. I understand football a whole lot, but is the shovel play a pass or run? I think it should be accounted for rushing yards cause its a pitch or a qb keeper.
