@jabberwolf I don't know if they'll have better seats, but I know it's the first airliner to have LED lighting as a standard, "smart" glass that allows you to actually dim the windows, cabin air with a higher pressure and humidity that, according to a joint study between Boeing and the OSU, will increase comfort significantly, and engines that are designed to significantly reduce noise.

the 787 is much lighter than previous airliners, its body and wings are made of composite construction. A first for a passenger airliner.

The materials used to build this plane are what is different from the previous boing models.

A would imagine the differance to you as a passinger would be in comfort and speed.

@dmvallaccess Its supposed to be efficient enough to save millions in fuel cost, so airlines could certainly make tickets cheaper with it, but I doubt very much that they'll pass that savings on to consumers.

@Out9922 More than half of the sub componenents are built in Asia . In fact the entire wing . Otherwise they Asians would not buy it . What would I know only worked 20 years in commercial aviation . Soon another industry gone . Parts are shipped to the US and assembled .
