This is, by far, my favorite sniper. It's an amazing stealth sniper because you can use cold blooded without any detriments to not using stopping power, and it has a very good balance of power, accuracy, and low recoil. I've used it since my first prestige and loved it ever since. I highly recommend it for non-quickscopers and people who have good patience and accuracy. In my opinion, this is the best sniper in Modern Warfare 2.
@CroVeXx He already did them (I think for all the guns) but for he removed them for some reasons, I heard that Activision told him to remove them but I'm not sure personally.
@IcarusWing07 If you keep up a fire/reposition pattern, it can lead folks on a wild-goose chase. In my experience, it actually grants more kills than with a silenced weapon, albeit at a higher risk.
wa2000+ acog+ sleight of hand+ lightweight+ commando= perfect class/rape/ insert what you want here/ect. i love this class for the accurate shots,low recoil, fast fire rate and how fast the wa2000 recovers from shots and its usable at all ranges even at long range still. just keep your guard up for long range targets,campers, shotgunners and other snipers and you'll rape face

I concede that there are a couple of very strong guns in the game, but many of the guns are still very balanced. In any situation I can confidently say to you that an M4 will give the UMP a run for its money.

Think of it this way: a sniper MIGHT get lucky at close range (in any game). Assault rifles kill near-instantaneously at close range, and dominate SMGs at long range. So, a guy who can tap fire with an SMG SHOULD stand a chance at long range. Not standing a chance would be true imbalance.
@ImCrayolaah btw, people complain that the UMP is overpowered all the time, while neglecting the use of other guns. What about the RPD? It has far less recoil than the UMP, has arguably better iron sights, and is a two hit kill at any distance with stopping power and three without. The UMP only has the reputation it has now because it's been hyped up by players like sandy ravage.
It makes you run slower, so your moving will be sluggish, you can't aim and move at same speed as you can with UMP45, it doesn't reload as fast and propably shoots slower too. And UMP45 has also the same damage figures. It's the superior gun.
@Arppis mobility is only important based on your playstyle. An LMG user is in no way supposed to be a run n' gun type. In terms of damage output and its ability to sustain fire, LMGs are simply the best. The RPD shoots slower, but it has less recoil and is a two hit kill at any range, which means that if two players worth their salt were to face each other with the two guns, the RPD would win at any range except MAYBE close range (where it still has a fighting chance).
It's a good gun and you are right about the LMG playstyle. But thanks to the mobility, you can flank these guys and most people run around, rather than camp. :)
Not to mention, RPD isn't really that popular gun, so people don't use it, thus they don't realize how good it is, as nobody uses it against them.
@Arppis I just checked, the RPD actually has a higher RoF (666/minute) than the UMP (600 RoF).
The old argument. Moving slowly and carefully and not rushing around and flanking constantly does NOT constitute camping. If that were camping, then around 70 percent of good players camp. My argument is that the UMP is not overpowered, people only think it so because commentators prefer it, so you're basically restating my argument by saying the RPD isn't popular.
My argument is that it is the better gun, because it offers the mobility and it's more potent thanks to that. And it's true. Who wouldn't want to have 2 hit kill machine and strafe around your enemies? On longer sidelines RPD is pretty good, but there are ways around that.
But almost any gun is good when in the hands of the good player. And I used the camping-term there "loosely", meaning more slower pace of gaming. Sorry for confusion. :)
This was my preferred sniper rifle back when I played MW2. I honestly think it's more effective than the Intervention, seeing as how the recoil is minimal and has decent damage for a semi auto

You can find good sniping spots and relocate after every couple of kills, but you will be unstoppable when moving position with the Akimbo magnums and steady aim (trust me, Akimbo magnums>AA12/Akimbo G18s any day!). With cold blooded, the enemy won't know where you are and their air support won't do anything to you either.

@Tabe112 i loved this gun when i was 6th prestige. I played a ton of core, using the silencer with stopping power, and i found that this gun was perfect for headshots. If you can get accurate enough, you can also use it for quickscoping.

@Flames682 no. Just because production of a weapon ends doesn't mean that it instantly ceases existing. I believe that all 76 of the original WA2000s are still around today due to their status as collector's items. Also, MW2 takes place in 2016, so maybe hypothetically they resumed production.

I remember making a class for the WA2000 that I thought would suck but turned out to be really fun to use. It had Slight of Hand, Lightweight, Last stand, with WA2000 ACOG and akimbo M93 Raffica.
@GamecubeFan2 in real life, no. It was too expensive and required a lot of maintainence, although it had very good accuracy. In-game, it's probably the best sniper for precision snipers, or for snipers who don't like using stopping power.
WA2000 best sniper in-game. Similar damage to Intervention and Barrett without need for stopping power. Semi-auto, and with Ext. mags, 12 rounds which is perfect. Not too much recoil, so you can get accurate shots off fairly quick.

I am lvl 60 now and I have about 24 hours playtime and I have not seen one single person use this weapon.

@Tabe112 I've gotten 2 out of my 3 nukes with the wa2000, I have it on red tiger, I use it with thermal and cold blooded, I would fuck it if it was a girl tbh. The only real downside is the small mag

@Tabe112 i loved this gun when i was 6th prestige. I played a ton of core, using the silencer with stopping power, and i found that this gun was perfect for headshots. If you can get accurate enough, you can also use it for quickscoping.

the only weapon that should be 1 hit kill without stopping power is intervention..
because of its low rate of fire.. but yeah thats infinity wards bullshit..

@Flames682 no. Just because production of a weapon ends doesn't mean that it instantly ceases existing. I believe that all 76 of the original WA2000s are still around today due to their status as collector's items. Also, MW2 takes place in 2016, so maybe hypothetically they resumed production.

@TheUltimateZeal0t the bullet still does 98 damage, compared with no stopping power of 70, its most likely that you get less hit marker.

I remember making a class for the WA2000 that I thought would suck but turned out to be really fun to use. It had Slight of Hand, Lightweight, Last stand, with WA2000 ACOG and akimbo M93 Raffica.

@GamecubeFan2 in real life, no. It was too expensive and required a lot of maintainence, although it had very good accuracy. In-game, it's probably the best sniper for precision snipers, or for snipers who don't like using stopping power.

WA2000 best sniper in-game. Similar damage to Intervention and Barrett without need for stopping power. Semi-auto, and with Ext. mags, 12 rounds which is perfect. Not too much recoil, so you can get accurate shots off fairly quick.
