I watched a couple of vids with the thrashbag and heatgun technique now, and i began thinking.
Would it be possible to make a burlap-style barn jacket out of this? Because it does look a bit like it. Maybe the paint would flake off with the movement though.
@GTAtomten Can you send me a pic of what you want to accomplish. I google image searched burlap style barn jacket and dont think I found what you me. Can it be made....sure. let me see a pic and I will help you figure out how.
There's the ultimate thing, though i'll be happy with less. Might not be a good idea in second thought due to the torn up stringiness. What do you think?
@GTAtomten I tried ding this to make a human flesh lab coat. I tried using spray paint and it did flake off with use. Perhaps using a different paint would make it more durable. If you find a paint that works though could you please message me back?
I was super impressed with your knowledge and detail when you didn't include the hands. When you skin an animal, you don't use the paws either because - you're right - it's too much freaking trouble.
Excellent video as always. I just really wish you hadn't given me the welcome mat idea.
watched one of your other videos on Make and I almost thought you WEREN'T gonna check the heat gun with your hand. . . but then. . . you did. And I laughed.
Wonderful vids! You are my new Hero! I have been wanting to things of this quality for years but they always seemed to cost prohibitive, you have found the prefect work around with plastic!
This is great stuff! Do you work for a studio yet? If not, you should! Judging by what you've done with cheap materials, it would be mind blowing to see what you could accomplish with studio grade tools and materials!
@8bitdeath I actually work for a Haunted house. Screams Halloween park in Texas. Im the artistic director there, no matter where you work being anle to do it on a budget is an advantage. Sometimes you want to make $100 look like $1000 other times its making $10,000 look like $100,000.
It cracks me up how you keep checking to see if your wife is home. That pelt is creepy. I think I'm going to make one and tack it to my neighbor's door.
@6Nicad6emus6 Not Damn, awesome! we both saw an industry need and sought to fill it. You have a true spirit of sharing that I value highly. Im glad we had the chance to work together and I hope we can again soon!
Great prop, its all good untill the wife shows up.. thats comedy at its best, she was burning holes in you with her eyes, famous last words. it'll wash off honey. this is great
Really, really cheap and cool idea. I would probably just adjust the tones on the skin to make it either all flesh or bloody up the black, but I realize there's a time limit for videos and you were probably in a rush. Really, cheap, resourceful and ingenious idea. You can easily cover a whole wall with these and not have to spend a penny for extra supplies.
@the5chronicles Yeah the big thing is the technique- I love a strong dry brush look but its not the most realistic so I know others might want to finish in a different style. Luckily you can. I have about six haunts at the park Im director for and Im definitely putting a few of these in at least two of them, I had forgotten about thhis technique until someone asked about it on a haunt forum.
