1possible reason for the "rush to get it done this year" is that in Jan the seniors will not be receiving a SS increase. Costs for seniors are on the rise, but their SS payments won't because they're indexed to the oil-skewed CPI instead of the CPI-E. If you think seniors (a voting population) are pissed now, just wait till Jan. Correcting the indexing to more accurately reflect their costs would send the system toward an earlier bankruptcy, possibly why the index formula hasn't been changed.

Costs for seniors are on the rise, but their SS payments won't because they're indexed to the oil-skewed CPI instead of the CPI-E. If you think seniors (a voting population) are pissed now, just wait till Jan. Correcting the indexing to more accurately reflect their costs would send the system toward an earlier bankruptcy, possibly why the index formula hasn't been changed.

God Bless Texas! I marched in DC yesterday - it was awesome, more Patriots than I hoped for. I came from the blue state of NJ on a bus in a caravan of four. Every State including AK & HI, was represented. The Texas state flag was prominent in every part of the crowd, and that crowd was everywhere. A question, will Texas embrace refugees from NJ? (good to know just in case! LOL)
