@andrearot hmm check out these bands: My Brightest Diamond, Neutral Milk Hotel, Dance Gavin Dance, The Microphones, Circulatory System, Daniel Johnston, Beat Happening, Fifth Column, Poison The Well, Linda Perhacs... i dont normally listen to alternative but there are a lot of great bands, and thats cool(: what instrument do you play?
@stalkerP00Q i play drums.. we've different influences, like alt-rock, noise, stoner ecc.. we called our project La Nuit (the night, in french)..check out our stuff: lanuitband(dot)com ..add us on fb then, if you like us!
@andrearot + Hella, Don Caballero, Codeine, Slint, Rex, Liars, Built To Spill, Fugazi, Bitch Magnet, 3 Mile Pilot, Mount EErie (ex Microphones) , Chinese Stars, Enablers, Books Of Knots,...
@stalkerP00Q you're welcome! can you suggest me other interesting bands? no matter the genre.. anyway i love alternative music :) (i play in a band, La Nuit)
i lovelovelovelove LOVE how the instruments are all kind of slightly out of tune with each other. it makes it sound that much more honest and personal somehow.
I got this song on a disc of "independent projects" by the band members in maybe 1999 at the Middle East in Cambridge, Ma....thanks for posting it, parts of it have been echoing in my mind for nearly 2 decades.
Does anyone know if June Of 44 has their own website or of any interviews with the band or whomever wrote most of the lyrics? I'd love to know what their songs are about, I can get a general idea but I want to hear what they say themselves.
i never gave a shit about the labels. All I know is this came out of the special time that was the late 90s and in Louisville-- Slint, Shipping News, etc, and goddamit, nothing has sounded even close!!!
i agree with you, my friend. the sounds of these bands are very cool anyway! slint made school for many of them all, but man, june of 44 were really cool.
for real, let music such as this just exist as it is. There is no need to say this band owes its sounds to this or shares qualities with this..who gives a fuck? All that shit is pretentious as hell...
well, what you've heard about this relation has not been mentioned by me, i guess.. :)
anyway, they all belong to a musical stream which is called post rock: this genre is really big and is also divided in other subgenres like math rock, experimental ecc..
you should read about it on wikipedia. ;)
remember above all that post rock is more a conceptual and chronological event than a musical genre.
This is one of my favorite songs. Ever. I can't think of any other song that makes me feel the way this song does.

ho provato anche a tradurre il testo, ma sembra che anche gli americani stessi non ne cavino molto eheheh.. :)
il testo parla di un'autostrada comunque.
