You are correct spc1124 on parts of your statement. If you look at the APBT history you see that the APBT was bred as a game dog. What the American Bully community is trying to do now is breed away from that. The intentions may or may not have been to have a family dog. The goal today is, we want a FAMILY oriented family dog. I'm not trying to put down the APBT, its just breeders wanted to take the breed into another direction.

"game" is a term used to describe the dogs willingness to work. I would say that true game pit bulls were bred for that reason there willingness to work at what ever the task. Maybe you should do your research or watch dog 1 on 1 because Rotts have a stronger jaw than a pitbull. And the German Shepherd has the second strongest jaw. Than following that is the Pitbull. i think that is void. The pit they used was like 45 lbs against like a 100 lb rott and a large shepard too. Use and 85 lbs with a huge head (therefore huge jaw muscles) and see how it turns out. Pits are the baddest dude.

your right there is no such thing as lock jaw but they will not let go or give up....thats why they say "lock Jaw", the jaws becomes locked in the dogs mind and a dog handler would have to use specially made little keys to open the dogs jaw. nice dogs! i love places like these where the dogs are USUALLY brought up in a nice environment and given the respect they deserve! although i do have one complaint. sorry. :P but i would just like to inform you that while using a chain leash is perfectly fine, chain collars shouldn't be used. it puts pressure on the dogs neck and since bullies are extremely strong and pull with their upper body strength, the chain collar is too harsh on them. leather collars and harnesses work better. :)

Some people just like the look, and the personality of this breed. I agree with you on looking intimidating, as both of my pits can scare the crap out of someone when they first meet them. your comment is true but not accurate. the Pit Bull terrier, does have aggressive tendencies just as a chihuahua or Dalmatian or chow chow..any dog really, but the Pit bull was not bred for game, it was bred for blood sport, true history. bear bating, bull bating, and until dog fighting became popular in the 1800's when a pit bull sees a dog and it does not get along with it it will want to fight. keep it chained or not trained it will fight. i own a pit bull. but i have to be aware of it too.

"game" is a term used to describe the dogs willingness to work. I would say that true game pit bulls were bred for that reason there willingness to work at what ever the task. Good looking dogs but "Pit Bull" isn't a breed, its a term used to describe a certain group of dog breeds. "Pit Bull" isn't a breed itself. The dog your THINKING of is an American Pit Bull Terrier and they are small to medium sized dogs that get 15 - 21 inches and 22 - 65 pounds, anything more then 70 pounds is obese and/or a mutt. American Bully, ( Not American Bulldogs as they are 5x larger and such. ) American Bullies are mutts, not purebreds. No responsible breeder breeds mutts.

Maybe you should do your research or watch dog 1 on 1 because Rotts have a stronger jaw than a pitbull. And the German Shepherd has the second strongest jaw. Than following that is the Pitbull. To be exact, rotts have the strongest jaw of all dogs. And to all that believe pitbull have lockjaws, there's no such thing as "lockjaws". i think that is void. The pit they used was like 45 lbs against like a 100 lb rott and a large shepard too. Use and 85 lbs with a huge head (therefore huge jaw muscles) and see how it turns out. Pits are the baddest dude.

your right there is no such thing as lock jaw but they will not let go or give up....thats why they say "lock Jaw", the jaws becomes locked in the dogs mind and a dog handler would have to use specially made little keys to open the dogs jaw. So in a sense the jaws do lock and in the proper sense they don't.

nice dogs! i love places like these where the dogs are USUALLY brought up in a nice environment and given the respect they deserve! although i do have one complaint. sorry. :P but i would just like to inform you that while using a chain leash is perfectly fine, chain collars shouldn't be used. it puts pressure on the dogs neck and since bullies are extremely strong and pull with their upper body strength, the chain collar is too harsh on them. leather collars and harnesses work better. :)

Well, yes, the dogs used for game are sometimes malnurished, but a lot look just like these (hence "bully" pit bull). so when a person walks down the street and sees this blob of muscle, they'd assume it's an aggressive dog (whether it is or isn't). and they're probably right, because people breed these "pits" to have so much muscle so they can fight, which is just wrong.

I think it is a good thing cause when the pitbulls are out cause of ignorant people we will still have our bullies!!! Stop all the hating and unite to fight the bsl laws and all the other laws out there against our breed.

I agree with APBTs2006. Those are just bully's those aren't Pit Bull Terriers. They look more like pigs than pits.
