Didn't you notice, rmckewen, that all my references are to what God says?! You cannot stop Him from being the eternal judge (John12:48). He decides that the sexually immoral go to hell (1Cor6:9). You cannot change His judgment; you only can only decide whether to join unrepentant adulteresses there.
He lost a lot of money due to bad financial management which has come of a result of his consistent drinking habits. Sadly, he's been arrested a number of times on DUI in the last few years. His second marriage has also fallen apart because of all of this and his 2nd wife has divorced him.* As much as people want to fault Amy for her failed marriage. The proof is in the pudding and sadly, 10 years later, Gary has not gotten his act together*

Being a Christian doesn't mean you are perfect...,it means you are forgiven. Just as God forgives this woman for her sins...He will also forgive you for yours. That is why He sent His son to die on the cross. He knows that NONE of us can live up to His standards...and that is why Jesus paid the ultimate price for us...His life.

I've read the comments regarding Amy Grant's supposed 'adultery.' It brings back to mind the scripture of when the pharisees brought to Jesus the adulterous woman, while Jesus wrote in the sand. He told the pharisees that "he (or she) that is without sin" should be the one to throw the first stone. All of the stones were dropped and then Jesus forgave the woman telling her to "sin no more." Which one of these individuals who made these judgmental posts are without sin? We must forgive!

@lol245525, what makes you think there is redemption without repentance? If God tells you that something is sin and to stop doing it, but you reply, "No! I don't believe it is sin." (example Rom7:3, 1Cor7:10-11) Or, "I don't believe you mean what you say about the consequences!" (example 1Cor6:9, Heb10:26-27). Then, how are you different from the original sinner, Eve, or the unrepentant adulteress, Herodias? The whole Bible says children of disobedience suffer God's wrath. (example Eph5:6-7)

@Auseez, repentance means to change direction, to turn away from sin. You will know that Amy has repented when she stops committing adultery, and keeps God's commandment at (1Cor7:10-11).
God did not tell the adulteress to continue committing adultery if it felt good, made her happy and rich. He told her to go and sin no more. God speaks for Himself. Read the Scriptures to which I have pointed. He says those who love Him keep His commandments, and that includes (1Cor7:10-11).

Do you believe it is loving to remain silent while little ones are led into sin (ref Luke17:1-2)? Which referenced Scripture does God not mean? (1John3:6)? (1John5:16)? Are there really apostates (Heb6:4-6)(2Pet2:20-22)?
God says that if Amy Grant loved Him, she would keep His words (John 14:23-24). But she, like other sexually immoral people here, loves her adultery more than she loves God, and she refuses to repent of it.
That exercise of free will to disobey God has eternal consequences; God says that adulterers have no inheritance in His Kingdom (1Cor 6:9).
People who think that they can abuse God's grace, and continue wantonly in sin, have not heeded God's revelation to us (Heb 10:26-27).

(Mark10:12, 1Cor7:10-11, Rom7:2-3) Then ask yourself, did Amy divorce her husband to marry another woman's husband? Yes. Has Amy remained single or been reconciled to her husband? No. Does Amy continue to have sexual relations with someone not her husband while her husband lives? Yes. What does God say about that? (Heb10:26-27)

I wanted to mention that Amy and Vince had an on-going affair in the 90s while they were both each still married to their first spouses, before they got divorced and remarried. The whole affair, divorce, remarriage was completely adulterous and it DESTROYED two families. I cannot imagine that Amy's first husband (Gary) or Vince's first wife (Janis) or their children, are very happy about this. It was a very sad, regretable thing that Amy & Vince did.

Why do people give God credit when they make good decisions but not bad ones or blame Satan. I think we make choices and fate is in our own hands. I don't drink or go to bars its' not God or Satan. Despite the misuse you mention, the spiritual reality is something existing outside of our human minds. As I believe it to be, and I suppose this is an orthodox idea. So, what follows, is that human beings can form ideas about the situation, and say untrue things, or those things you mention. That does not change the reality of this other world - of God. May God guide us to search for and believe the truth.
What if that truth is there's no God do you still search for and believe the truth. Or only search for it if it follows your Christian beliefs. I'm not trying to be rude that's a question I had to answer myself a long time ago. And now I ask myself about what if it leads away from atheism/agnosticism. I hope the answer is always seek truth no matter what. I am and always have been a questioner and a seeker.

I've read the comments regarding Amy Grant's supposed 'adultery.' It brings back to mind the scripture of when the pharisees brought to Jesus the adulterous woman, while Jesus wrote in the sand. He told the pharisees that "he (or she) that is without sin" should be the one to throw the first stone. All of the stones were dropped and then Jesus forgave the woman telling her to "sin no more." Which one of these individuals who made these judgmental posts are without sin? We must forgive!

(example Rom7:3, 1Cor7:10-11) Or, "I don't believe you mean what you say about the consequences!" (example 1Cor6:9, Heb10:26-27). Then, how are you different from the original sinner, Eve, or the unrepentant adulteress, Herodias? The whole Bible says children of disobedience suffer God's wrath. (example Eph5:6-7)

@Auseez, repentance means to change direction, to turn away from sin. You will know that Amy has repented when she stops committing adultery, and keeps God's commandment at (1Cor7:10-11).
God did not tell the adulteress to continue committing adultery if it felt good, made her happy and rich. He told her to go and sin no more. God speaks for Himself. Read the Scriptures to which I have pointed. He says those who love Him keep His commandments, and that includes (1Cor7:10-11).

I just want to thank God for his blessings on my life, For awhile I was always depressed and felt like my life was not worth living. So I just want to thank Him for being a interceeder and giving me the power to say no to the devil. Hes a liar and the father of all lies. I wanted to mention that Amy and Vince had an on-going affair in the 90s while they were both each still married to their first spouses, before they got divorced and remarried. The whole affair, divorce, remarriage was completely adulterous and it DESTROYED two families. I cannot imagine that Amy's first husband (Gary) or Vince's first wife (Janis) or their children, are very happy about this. It was a very sad, regretable thing that Amy & Vince did.
Shame on them both.

I hope it is alright if I will react? What frightens me is the truth of the spiritual reality. Deception is not understood in our limited darkened minds. We as human beings are not out of mere coincidence made to think and feel as we do, is my believe. Why do people give God credit when they make good decisions but not bad ones or blame Satan. I think we make choices and fate is in our own hands. I don't drink or go to bars its' not God or Satan. I think too many people use God's will as an excuse and make Christians look bad. That's part of the reason I no longer believe. I still listen to Amy Grand though so maybe there's hope for me yet. :P

Despite the misuse you mention, the spiritual reality is something existing outside of our human minds. As I believe it to be, and I suppose this is an orthodox idea. So, what follows, is that human beings can form ideas about the situation, and say untrue things, or those things you mention. That does not change the reality of this other world - of God. May God guide us to search for and believe the truth.

What if that truth is there's no God do you still search for and believe the truth. Or only search for it if it follows your Christian beliefs. I'm not trying to be rude that's a question I had to answer myself a long time ago. And now I ask myself about what if it leads away from atheism/agnosticism. I don't argue I discuss. And I discuss it the same reason I discuss other issues with people that I don't agree. To make us both think and reconsider. If I said I heard an invisible man talking to me and saw him, and called him anything but God you would I would imagine try to reason with me. That's just my 2 cents.
