My absolute favorite was "I'm Flying" - although I thought she was crying the whole time... granted, I was 5. Can you pretty-please upload that song if possible??
This is great! I didn't own this particular Strawberry Shortcake album, but I did have one called "Let's Dance." Do you happen to have that one? I'd love to hear some of the songs again.
I have one called the "Exercise and Fun Album" which shows a few of the characterss exercising on the cover and came with an exercise chart. Is that the one you're speaking of? "Let's Dance" is the title of a more recent (2007) SS film and CD.
Nope, it's a different one. "Strawberry Shortcake -- Let's Dance" was an LP released by Kid Stuff in 1982. Songs included are: "Let's Dance," "Strawberry Twist," "One Two Cha Cha Cha," "Berry Silly Hat Dance," "Strawberry Square Dance Tonight," "Limbo Dance," "Do The Strawberry Stomp," "Strawberry Waltz," "Huckleberry's Polka," and "I Was Born To Disco."
My daughter Britney knows every word and every pause on this song - along with the other 7 great hits on the same record. Unreal it would make it to youtube - who woulda thunk it. Straw, straw say strawberry rap!!!!
pardon my pun, but here's a little dirt on Plum Puddin
Plum Puddin' also debuted in 1980, but would not get a doll until 1984, by which time the character had apparently switched genders, and was now a girl.
LOL. I wonder how many takes this recording took! Seriously, the girl or woman doing this had some serious talent to effect that voice AND rap as fast as she did in time!
This is so berry stupid.

Holy Crap! This was BRAVE!
Though somewhat innocent, rap was still very much unacceptable for most parents during this period because it was new and unfamiliar.
Strawberry Shortcake was Renegade.
Much Respect. Much much RESPECT!

Yes. But I posted it myself, so I wasn't sure how many people would get into it! I had a good feeling, though:-)

By the way --since it seems you're diggin' this clip, would you mind giving it a rating?
