@Rfperz It's almost a joke among organists; one day, I'm gonna play a program and insist there be a big barrel at the auditorium entrance...filled with Luden's cough drops!

Whooh thats wicked how well it comes out, its not as crisp in the notes as an orchestra though that played the origional starwars theme song. THis is nice too bad such massive insterments are underappreciated today with all the syths, which can do what these do but real insterments hooked to the organ are always better instead of just a digital replication of the sound, and its no where as room filling as the organ, nor as hard to play
Yes, Lucas wanted a space opera based on a 1930's-40's post silent movie sound track and the editing and transition style of an Akira Kurosawa movie. So a grand movie palace can capture that music feel of Star Wars in an almost mystical way.
I like the style of this case to the rather gaudy examples as in the Organ Stop Pizza joint & our own dear example at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, England. I just like the clean geometric thirties art-deco style.
I don't think it's an art deco theater, it resembles a giant hat box, but it is an attractive hat box though. I had no idea a wurlitzer was in there until a few days ago, and i hope to see a performance sooner than later. Look up the Grand Lake, Paramount, and Fox theaters in Oakland, CA, classic art deco style, and the first two still have organs, well, at least the Grand Lake does for sure.
Console is one of only four of this Art Moderne style built: three black (twin Radio City consoles and three-manual Recording Studio organ for Rockefeller Center) and this in rosewood/black for Rockefeller Center's Center Theatre. And yes, consoles have identifying styles. In this one, I'm surprised (and happy) to see the indicating keys working - the swell pedal indicators above the top manual, in the horseshoe. One of my favorite of the Wurli custom consoles, this one in this finish.
Hey!!...That organ looks like a wooden version of the organ in Radio City Music Hall (except that that one's black)...VERY Moderne / Streamline looking. Great playing
wurlitzer made this organ and the one in radio city music hall. Wurlitzer has not made a pipe organ since around 1940. Every manufacturer has subtle hints that give clues that are key identifying features... ie a Wurlitzer looks like a Wurlitzer and a Kimball looks like a Kimball.... etc.
Hello Ron, boy your just like your dad playing like he did. I miss the Roaring 20's that used to be in town here. Glad to see you have your performances on here I will let my dad know so he can see this to
BTW, I used to belong to NorCal when I lived down there, and helped out the organ crew on some weekends during the install period (in other words, I lifted/moved/cleaned stuff so those who actually knew what they were doing could do their stuff :) I *DID* find a missing pipe from an incorrect crate once, tho :)
Actually - I had posted a comment in reference to yours but I had the wrong timing - yes - as a matter of fact that *is* a "Little Fugue" reference...!

The music of John Williams transcribes very nicely to the theatre pipe organ! I also like your 20th Century Fox intro.

@KE5RHD The latest6 starwars efforts pale to the originals

Leia's Theme is nice at 2:06. Of course when she's blowing a hole in you with a blaster it may not seem applicable.

What is the theatre facade like? Is it similar?

Shouldn't that organ (especially THAT one!) have a Howard (aka nut-cruncher) seat?
