  • steve? where'd you go? Steve??? STEVE?!? STEEEEEEEEEEEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was wondering can you keep your shrimp with fishes or will the fish eat them all.

I wanted some shrimp to clean my fish tank that has plants and tetras but not sure if the shrimp would just be food for my fishes?

  • @ttpiett I'd say the best recipe for success with shrimp and fish is to stick with VERY peaceful community fish with at least a 20g tank that has lots of plants and places for the shrimp to hide.

  • @Jazbar4 thanks

  • i just recently bought a red cherry shrimp and a amano shrimp and i wanted to know if there is anything else you can feed them besides fish flakes?

  • @MexicanNYAmerican They will eat anything but there is no need to feed them...they are scavengers and will be fine with leftover scraps and algae.

  • Comment removed

  • ghost shrimp eat there young if you do not seperate them from there babies

  • is there a type of shrimp i can raise to eat?...lol

  • OMG this reminds me of my shrimp, I bought 20 not too long ago, and after i put them in my tank I only saw like 5 at a tim, i thought they all died :( but then i was remodeling my tank, and BAM, there are over 50! IDK how this happend. i have other fish in there, idk how they did that. LOL oh well. good for the original 20 and their 30 babies. haha. BTW, how long do the babies take to grow, i'm wondering because i've never seen the babies, out of know where there are just a ton lol. Thanks! :D

  • @ciciironwill27 they take about a month to mature

  • omg can a red cherry strimp be so big? how big can a RCS be-.-'?

  • @Mrhonganify. :) These are normal size.....the largest shrimp here are as large as they can get at nearly 1.5 inches.

  • My ghost shrimp have been pregnant and laid there eggs but I never see the babies, do you need to have some sort of trap?? Anyone??

  • @Theodosia2839. I've never kept ghost shrimp before but if I remember correctly they need brackish water to hatch no?

  • @Theodosia2839 There babies go through a larval stage and then they become miniature shrimp. If you do not have a sponge filter in place it will kill the swimming larvae.

  • @Theodosia2839 ghost shrimp don't give birth to baby shrimps, but larvaes, which can get sucked up easily

  • Very nice shrimps! I wish mine would flock like that to the food I give them. But I guess it's cos I have guppies and Otos that kinda muscle in on it first, the more daring shrimps will go and poke some Otos eyes but that's about it. :(

  • what do you feed them

  • Human remains @fishanimal2

  • @Jazbar4 LMAO that's classic

  • @Jazbar4 he is telling the truth.. why so many thumb up?

  • what's the yello wstuff on their back is that babies gettin ready?

  • @gn3ricc Yep.....eggs developing in the ovaries. In this stage the female is referred to as "saddled" Later, after the eggs move outside the females body to the underside of the tale, she is said to be a "berried" female.

  • hi where would u get cherry shrimp?

  • @lfclikewalfc I bought mine from one of the hobbyists at aquaticplantcentraldotcom

Check out their for sale or trade forum.

  • do the placo suckerfish eat them? cuz i have 5...cant find 1 of them o_O

  • @TheDogh8ter nope dog plecos will not eat them but are you saying you have 5 shrimp or 5 plecos?

  • @Jazbar4 5 shrimp together with 2 pelco 1 albino sucker umm couple of mollies and tetras

  • is it true that only the female are red and the males are clear (or clear with a light tint of red)? I think i've read that online, correct me if i'm wrong. I just bought some online and should be shipped next week and should arrive next week too. I'm going to get rid of my ghost shrimp because idk if they'll get along and i don't want to be mixing them up with my cherry males. SO is the color think true? PLEASE reply. I'm dying to know.

  • @ciciironwill27 ya the males are kinda drab. Its the females that have the best color.

Check out my other videos, I have a short clip of one of my more colorful males.

He's a good example of a slightly above average male coloring. Be aware though, most people ship young shimp, reason being, they handle the bouncing around better than the adults. But, they won't have the color you see in my videos. As they grow they will color up for you.....assuming they are from good stock.

    GL!

  • @Jazbar4 Ok thanks, drab or not i'm sure they're much cooler than ghost shrimp (which i'm giving way) and if they arrive kinda dull, i'l just wait for them to age a bit and i'm sure with the diet i feed my fish they'll be SUPER nice and red in no time :) thank you for responding! I hope my shrimp look as nice as yours do after a while. is there any tips you have to enhance their color, I bought ugly rasboras and fed them bloodworms for a while and they're color exploded, what food would help RCS

  • @Jazbar4 AND tthank you soooooo much for replying, you seem really nice, i don't have back substrate like yours so my rcs's color might not pop out as much at first, but i'm sure with a good diet they'll color up quickly, many of my ish did that i bought at my LFS (which aren't that bright in color due to crappy diet) but after 3 weeks with me the fis hare really nice. i love your shrimp and hope in time mine will be as nice as that. the guy ho sels them has acconrding to him buyer "very good...

  • @Jazbar4 "very good quality shrimp and they've posted pics and so has he and they look realllllyyyyyyy nice. much better than most, but he did say he ships them young. and the people that posted the pics did say their pics were a a few weeks after they arrived. so i know mine wond be COLORFUL when they arrive but i'm 100% sure in a few weeks they'll get there! :) sorry for commenting so much. . .i ust couldnt get everything i had to say in 1 comment lol thank you! any advice will help me!

  • can they be in the same tank with gold fish?? or a red red snapper fish jk...how much are they

  • from what I've learned on the net you can put african dwarf frogs, guppies, tetras and tiny fishies with these red cherry shrimp. Does anybody know if you can put a ghost shrimp with the cherry shrimp?

  • @blackkat77 I've never kept ghost shrimp but from what I hear they are semi aggressive. I'd think they would at worse, harass the cherries, possibly enough to keep them from breeding. But I if you have a few extra bucks, I think it's worth the attempt. I'd think the frogs would be more of a problem for the newborn shrimp than the ghosts, but I've never kept frogs myself.

  • @blackkat77 I have 7 Ghost Shrimp And 10 Red Cherry Shrimp together in my tank and they get along just fine.

  • what do u feed yr shrimps?

  • I have a 30 gallon freshwater tank which has all semi-aggressive fish, and some community fish. Will these guys be okay in that setup, and if so how many would you recommend for keeping the algae away? Do I also need a regular algae eater for the sides.

  • @MrTylerorr I would not recommend keeping these shrimp with even semi aggressive fish. I guess you're just gonna have to get another tank my friend :)

  • would you be interested in selling about 20 or so of your shrimp? I have crystal blue shrimp if you would like to trade??

  • @dewton232 , Ya Dew I can spare a few.....got any videos of your blues?

  • I have only one right now in a 45 gallon with only two fish(female betta and one albino cory) with lots ot those small snails that come free that I hope the cpo will munch on. any advice on breeding them?

  • lol best advice for ya right now would be to get another one :)

  • OMG LOL AWESOME VIDEO I SWEAR

How did ur ones grow so big is it a matter of time?

  • Thx!

Ya they can live for up to two years and max out at 1.5 inches.

It takes almost a year for them to obtain their full color. As the exoskeleton thickens, the red deepens. Also, as they get older they molt less often, which also contributes to their more vibrant color.

  • What fish are they with?

also, do you think i could keep them with bumblebee gobies?

  • Those are endler guppies in this tank with the RCS.

What size tank and how many gobies?

  • its a 5 gallon, and its got 3 gobies, heavily planted.

  • I'd say go for it. That is a bit small of a tank with fish but seeing as it's heavily planted you should have good luck. The gobies will pick off a few newborns but I'd guess most would survive. GL!

  • bbg will go after adult to. this is not a good tankmate!! they can and will overstress them out. whats the point of getting them if u cant see them cause there always hiding from being dinner? my bbg near a inch so all your choice if u want to buy them a snack.

  • @zerocool212121 Zero, do you have any first hand experience with BBG's and RCS? Or is this just your opinion? I've kept BBG's before and they always seemed very docile and shy. My opinion was based on just my observations of the BBGs cuz I never kept them together with RCS.

  • @Jazbar4 ive owned both and been doing fish for a long time, bbg are ambush predators mine got 1½ big enough to take a rcs. i would love to have them get along but thats not going to happen. they can live together but you will have a good # of ur colony become dinner, and then they will mostly hide due to fear of being dinner. so it can be done but not recomended

  • they are cute! i like them all :)

  • nice shrimp`s ! what are the new born shrimp eat ?

  • The new born shrimp will eat the same as the adults, leftover fish food, algae and such.

  • @Jazbar4 are these shrimp salt water or fresh water ? I have 60Gal African cichlids tank . i have a blue lobster as a cleanup crew but he doesn't do the job that well . Please give me some recommendation ..

  • Yes tom they are freshwater shrimp but they will not survive with aggressive fish. You would be just buying your cichlids some live food.

  • How big do these guys get??

  • they average about an inch but I've had a few get to 1.5"

  • can i keep them in my 29 gallon cummunity fish tank?

  • I have RCS in a community tank but it all depends on what the "community" is comprised of.

Give me a list of your fauna and I'll let you know what I think.

  • i have 2 guppies,8 tetras,3 dwarf sunset platies,2 swordtails, and im thinking about getting a freshwater clam. i also am ganna get 2 mollies and a figure eight puffer.

  • Most of those will be fine with adult red cherry shrimp but all will try to eat the juveniles. If your tank has a lot of plants and hiding spots for the shrimp they should still be fine and may even prosper. The one fish you mentioned there that will hunt down even the adults is the puffer. Also, a side note on that clam you mentioned, don't bother wasting your money, they are nearly impossible to keep alive in a community tank and if they die they can foul your tank without you knowing.

  • Also, you can check out my video tittled: "Planted 92G corner at dusk" to give you an idea of the fish I successfully keep with these shrimp.

  • What size tank is this?

  • it's a 46 gallon bowfront

  • I should also add that a large tank is not needed at all. I've seen these shrimp do well in a 1 gallon vase. They just need steady water parameters and temp with an adequate food supply

  • are these like the one freshwater shrimp that doesnt go through 3 larval stages in the ocean?

  • Only........god no....most popular and easiest to propagate......most definately.

    There are dozens.

There are entire aquatic communities devoted to raising just freshwater shrimp.

  • what do they eat? and should you still clean the tank?

  • They will eat anything from algae to leftover food the fish don't eat. The only maintenance this tank gets is weekly water changes. But I have live plants, otherwise I would vacuum every few months.

  • do you sell tiny red cherry?

  • I sell surplus but at the moment I have only a few.

  • i want that

in my tank...but i ahve 2 ghost shrimps..im waiting for my friend to give me some of his cherry shrimps since he's breeding them and he has a lot

  • i have bamboo shrimp and jut ordered a cherry shrimp

  • WONDERFUL! Do you sell them?? My RCS population is growing quite fast, so I was wondering if people sell them or what?? Congrats on your beautiful shrimp, you've done a very good job!!

  • Thanks, yes I usually do sell them but ATM I'm trying to increase the population for esthetic reasons.

  • lol its feeding frenzy

  • check my shrimp tank out...

Do you think my shrimp will breed in my tank?

How do you get them to breed

  • aquabid

  • wow! nice color!Nice red cherry those with white strip look like Babaulti.Babulti also have white stripe on the back(mine are green). And also have red cherry 8)

  • how big is your biggest one?

  • They max out at about 1.5 inches

  • They max out at about 1.5 inches

  • I wish I could find some cherry shrimp. For some reason I can never find them at my fish stores.

  • Ya they are tough to find locally.

I've got plenty if you're interested just email broken08atgmaildotcom

  • how often do you feed them?

  • With a colony of nearly a thousand like I had in this tank, I fed them everyday. But normally they don't need to be fed at all. They just scavange for algae and leftover fish food.

  • hello??

désolé je ne parle pas anglais ...

trés beaux specimen de red cherry !!

  • When bredign shrimp, how do you keep them from becoming overpopulated?

  • you thin the herd by selling them!

  • I can tell were else its gona be feeding time when these guys get big enoughf!

  • Serious cherry tank, nice

  • Mind sharing tips breeding them?

  • what do you feed them?
