  • Aimi! Ты молодец!!! Огромное спасибо твоим родителям и конечно учителям! Желаем тебе творческих успехов. Надеюсь скоро увидеть тебя с концертами в Москве!

  • edtskyline12 ....some people just watch on superficial things. They are missing the beautiful gift Aimi is giving to us, as good music lovers.....

  • she is worse to watch than lang lang

  • @edtskyline12

very much over succession of upper body movement, rocking back and forth, and way too much movement in the arms (chopin firmly taught against this)

  • @thedirtymeatball Thank you for your response. I see...then you can close your eyes since "she's worse to watch than Lang Lang" and enjoy by listening her performances. I don't really care much about the body expression, as long as it doesn't affect the performance. As for Lang Lang...I think that he got serious problems with his technique and it does affect his performances (the class with Barenboim shows it). I think he's improving at that.

  • @thedirtymeatball i know i would never pay to watch an asian playing even though they have some facility i feel that the piano is best left to westerners especially russians they have the true soul i would rather listen to a midi

  • @afertyus1000

only russians like Bunin and Horowitz were great. the rest of em are just as useless as the chinese hehe. just kidding, im not really that prejudiced, i just think there can be greats in any race but the way the asians are tought make most of them pretty stale. ebecause they dont learn based on the love, they learn based on being forced to. my favorite pianists:

    horowitz,

    bunin,

    yundi li

    pogolerich

    PEACE OUT :)

  • @thedirtymeatball ha i know i'm not prejudiced either just winding up a lot of these berks on here going on about 'only asians can do this or that', course there can be greats in any race , there are far more asians practicing now than westerners so it's obvious there would be more pianists and they do have a great work ethic,

my faves- richter, MAH,Pogo Argerich, horowitz, hough, volodos and of course loads more :)

  • A-I have been with piano. Piano is part if my body. I can not think of a life without it.

Q-Do you do anything before stage when you get cold feet?

A-None! but, I write 'people' (more like audience in this case ) on my palm and swallow it. *common japanese way to sooth yourself before stage. meaning:fascinate audience by one's performance.

at the end, news caster conclude this report as follow

Aimi says her dream is to enter Chopin conpetition.

surprise to me but this is what the lady said

  • @heartgoesto Thank you for your translation.

  • brief translation of what Aimi said..

Q-what was your reaction when chosen to play solo at Carnegie by Ozawa?

A-I was like.. yes! finally! of course surprized and happy.

Piano teacher-Aimi is fearless. Just like others who plays piano, she does not like practice much but what she is different from others is she determines to give her very best on stage. So strongly determined, there is absolutely no space for fear.

  • who cares?

  • can anyone tell me what the background music at the beginning is? thank you!!!

  • @zzhhaannggddii It's beautiful, isn't it? Copy and paste this: " Beethoven - Piano Sonata No 8 - Pathetique 2nd Movement " played by Dubravka Tomsic, one of my favorite pianists. ;)!

  • English<PIANO~

    I speak piano...Screw english xD

I Like her she's very down to earth. she's not a doll she's a normal 15 year old with major talent for piano.

  • I SUPPORT YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!!!!

  • NICE :)

  • It is her dream to participate International Chopin Piano Competition in 2015.

She'll win the first prize rather than participate...

  • @recopaccoyama Agree,I really hope she'll be the next winner of che Ch.Competition.

  • a real life nodame! o.O

  • @2:31 Narrator: What do you do to release tension on stage?

@2:34 Aimi: Nothing! But I make a gesture of swallowing a Kanji character “人(= man)” which I write on my palm before standing on stage. When nervous, I can’t go on stage. (Note: The gesture is a charm against getting stage fright, which is well known in Japan.)

  • @2:05 Narrator: According to Aimi’s teacher, Mrs. Ninomiya, who has been teaching her since she was 7-years-old, the relation between her and Aimi is just like that of a grandmother and a grandchild. What is Aimi’s real face that you know?

@2:12 Teacher: She dislikes piano practice as much as many others do. She fears nothing. She has a strong will to get the best from herself on stage.

@2:22 Aimi: I have never lived a life without a piano, so I feel a piano is like a part of my body.

  • @1:43 Narrator: Didn’t you feel pressure?

@1:47 Aimi: I feel now the time to give a recital here has come at last. (When I heard about the recital at first,) I was very surprised and so happy, but maybe got a little bit pressure.

@1:57 Narrator: Although she has got a lot of nerve, once she gets off stage, she is just an innocent 15-years-old girl.

@2:03 Aimi: There is someone behind me at any time. (Note: I don’t know what she is talking about.)

  • @jsie4er 'There is someone behind me at any time.' reads as 'There is someone supporting me at all time.' As in to push her along and assist her. The expression comes from 'a wind at your back' - that is to be pushed from behind.

  • @ edtskyline12

Thank you for uploading this video. I love Aimi so much. I am not good at English at all. But no one translates Aimi’s speaking parts into English yet. So I will try to translate them into English as below. Please no flames about my bad English, even if there are some mistranslations here and there.

  • @TheShrededward

    I understand "愛実"(pronounced as "eye-me" in Japanese) is her real first-name, not a stage-name.

  • The japanese people are one of the finnest and classiest people in the world. I have japanese colleagues at work, and I am always astonish by their politeness and discretion.

  • rough translation: In Carnegie hall in association with Japan NYC, 15 year old pianist Ayumi Kobayashi (her nickname is Aimi), and tutored by Ozawa Seiji played to a sold out audience.

There is then an introduction to her career as a pianist.

  • I attended that Carnegie Hall concert last April. Aimi was truly inspirational in her playing. Before the concert I mingled with the other concert goers, and it was quite amazing. I discovered that most of us had been viewing her many videos for years, and it was fun discussing the various videos with each other. I also attended the reception afterward and was able to express to her my admiration for her talent. Aimi is a delightful young woman with a sparkling personality.

  • Do you have a translation for this?

  • @chobeethaninov I don't...I requested to a japanese friend but I haven't received a response of her.

  • As always, Aimi will remain my utmost inspiration and favorite young concert pianist of all time. She's quite a buoyant, happy soul, too, away from the piano. I'd love to meet her and go to one of her concerts sometime soon!
