got this phone last week, worst phone i have ever owned. would switch itself off, took it back for a new one and the new one is still awful. taking it back to the shop tomorrow for a refund, anyone thinking of getting this phone i would say dont even think about it.

You are right ! I bought one N97 and its the worst smartphone that I bought.. crash 5 times a day... the locker system dont work properly, lots of BUGS in the software... I dont understand why Nokia release this phone, if I work at Nokia I'l never release this to the market, and I pay 600,00 Euros ... the Nokia Express music 5800 its better them N97 , the software its almost the same, but dont crash 5 times a day..

well, i have n97 and looove it!=)

yep, you can send mms and text messages, and the keyboard is comfortable!=) I have a mac too but i haven't put the nokia cd in it yet... and i've dowloaded music and short videos, i'm pretty sure there' no prob dowloading even movie, n97 has a huuuuge memory!=)

not that much, it's not because i've the 5800 but the only thing that the n97 got better than the 5800 is the camera 5 mp while the 5800 got a 3.2 mp (but i've to admit that even if it's a 3.2 mp the quality is not good compared to other phones)

I have a N97 but for some reason it doesn't seem as responsive as yours.

For example, there is a longer delay for the screen to adjust to landscape either when you rotate the phone or slide out the keyboard.

Are you running the latest firmware? v.11?

hey man pls reply me. does this phone have that multitasking button? like the nokia 6110 navigator or n95, it was the menu button. but if u hold that button alittle longer, it opens up ur task manager so u can multitask. simillar to alt tab. does it have that??

i bought this white n97 phone at $576, a one time deal with car charger, and the included bluetooth headset.

as of right now..Amazon and a lot of countries have sold out, good lucking getting a white one.

the camera quality is very good. at 500buxs this thing is worth at least 6months of interest, not to mention i won't be locked into some US cellphone contracts.

It's like the 5800 in that it is a resistive screen, and not capacitive like the iPhone. However, the N97's resistive touch screen is more sensitive compared to the 5800's.
