my phone is not working (right now in DFU mode).

iThe easiest way to fix cydia crash is to put your iPhone in DFU mode and then go to iTunes and locate 2.2.1 or 3.0 firmware file in it. So then u will be restored to factory settings and then jailbreak it. Or u can also search for Cydia Crash Fix videos on You tube. Search within Month period that will be better.

If u have iPod touch 2 gen then try to put your device in DFU mode and locate 2.2.1 file and you will get it by following this video. If u have iPod 1 gen then u have to follow my other video on my channel about downgrading. Check both videos. Whichever works.

Ok if u have iPod touch and u upgraded it to 3.0 for free, meaning u did not pay 9.95 for it, then u don't need to follow this video process. Just go to your iTunes and put your iPod touch in recovery mode, and then press Shift + Restore and locate 2.2.1 file and u will downgraded normally to 2.2.1. Let me know how did it go.

Yes you will be able to restore every song and app back to your iphone. Uninstalling Itunes does not uninstall your backup and files and songs, They are store in a folder safely. So that next time you reinstall them they can be backed up. And important thing please make sure what do you have on your iphone, meaning Official 3.0 firmware or the Gold Master Firmware as in this video. Because if you have Official 3.0 Firmware then you have to go to my other video, ITs link is in the description.

if you uninstalll itunes, it will not erase your music, your music is actually stored in a separate folder which it not touched when you you uninstall itunes, but make sure, that when you uninstall itunes, you remove ITUNES, QUICKTIME, and the APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT. yes it stays to 4.26 but all the cydia files still works fine and flawless just like nothing happend. its like a 2.2.1 jailbroken with a 4.26 baseband.
This video is made on the final gold master 3.0 firmware which was leaked a week before the official version came out by apple on 17 June. Apple put a lock in it's official release of 3.0 firmware On 17 June, so that it cannot be downgraded.

If u have iTunes logo and USB logo on ur iPhone screen then put it in dfu mode and press restore in iTunes. You will have then 3.0 firmware. Just one more day and u will definitely want 3.0 then, since u will be able to jailbreak it.

hi ripoll91, This error for ipod touch is usuall. Make sure that you are using Itunes 8.2 which is the latest release. Try it again by switching the usb ports. If you have another computer try to do it with other computer, since sometimes this error interfered usb ports. emac2299, I did exactly what you did and at the point where it says preparing iPhone for restore... my screen doesnt turn white, it remains black and after awhile it gives me an error message 1601, what could be wrong here? could it be that i have itunes 8.2?
Error 1601 is very tricky error, Dont worry it is one of the common ones,. The best way to avoid this error is to downgrade or restore it on another computer. ANd you will get it.
As I said earlier, try to do this on another computer, It will definetely work. These error interfere with usb ports and doesnot let you downgrade or restore.

hi there, Itunes usually creates a backup of every iphone and ipod touch. WHen you are done downgrading and your itunes recognise your ipod touch, there you have to select which backup you want to do, It usually gives you an option there just above the 'continue' button. If you dont have a backup then it means your itunes might have not made a backup of your ipod touch. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE QUICKPWN FOR DOWNGRADING IPOD TOUCH. IT USUALLY DOWNGRADES BY NORMAL PROCESS.

Sorry for bothering you again, buit a simple restore using DFU mode is all that is necessary for and iPod touch 2g and my friend tells me that it only affects iPhones, due to changing the baseband. So any iPod touch 2g owners watching have no need to worry, it's as simple as usual. Thanks for responding earlier.

Almolah, this happens only if ur itunes did not keep a backup of ur iPhone, or might have not syncronised it before the whole process. Keep me informed that how did u make it. Good luck
ok I got it to restore to 2.2.1 after killing all processes that belongs to itunes before running the Quickpwn step but now I cannot restore my iphones from backup, its telling me to upgrade to the latest firmware before I can restore because my firmware is too old!!! LOL how do I fix that?
Almolah, whenever we plug an iPhone or iPod touch, iTunes always keeps a backup of our records. At that point when u r done restoring 2.2.1 and ur iTunes recognize ur iPhone and it gives u an Option 'continue' as shown at the end of the video, there u have to open that backup and select which one do u want, then press continue. If u don't have any of these options, then update it as a new iPhone

Dont worry UAE, it is one of the common problems with itunes, sometimes just switching the usb ports does the trick. I am glad that you did it sucessfully.
These error messages, could be due to many reasons. It could be the USB port , could be ITunes, could be your apple device support etc. If you cannot do it on your computer, try to switch on different computer, YOu will get it for sure.

I can't get it done. Every time i manually choose the 2.2.1 fw iTunes keeps telling me that I can't use it b/c is not compatible. Only let's me choose the 3.0 fw. How can I fix thus or what am I doing wrong?
Well guys I tried this last night about 8 times and I didn't work. Everytime I manually picked the 2.2.1 fw iTunes said it could not open b/c it was not compatible. The restore only worked with 3.0 fw. Now if I hit restore button w/out the shift every steped it this video happened but i kept getting the cable and iTunes logo. I'm guessing cause I didn't pick the 2.2.1 fw. I need to go back to that version I miss my jailbroken iPhone !!!! Anyone else had the same problem?
i figured it out and just so everyone knows .. i followed his steps to the point...but i kept getting the itunes and cord logo instead of the apple logo after doing the 15sec deal..and then 2 sec..
what i did >> i held home and power for 15sec, i let go of the home button and held the power button for the extra 2 sec like he said.. so its really hold home and power for 15sec, release home and hold power for a 2 sec..thanx dude 3.0 sux at the moment im glad that ill get my jailbreak back ..
have u noticed choppyness when opening apps with 3.0 plus this is NOT the final release this is the 3.0 gmc which stands for gold master candinate which means the only thing different about this then the final release on june 17th will be changes made when developers tell apple when they need to change before they release 3.0. Great vid though this really helped me out!

when i get to the quickpwn part. afther the 15 seconds and 2 second thing, quickpwn doesn;t respond anymore and itunes still says that it has to be restored. help please

If u upgrade 3.0 fro Itunes it cannot be downgraded yet to 2.2.1. In this video I am using Gold Master 3.0 version . Please reams my description. Some people were successfull in dowgrading the official 3.0 that u have from Itunes 8.0. Try if it works Good luck!!

I have done exactly what you did but I always get "error (10)" and it doesn't downgrade to 2.2.1 !!!! I got itunes 8.2 and I upgraded to 3.0 from itunes... please help !!!

if you uninstalll itunes, it will not erase your music, your music is actually stored in a separate folder which it not touched when you you uninstall itunes, but make sure, that when you uninstall itunes, you remove ITUNES, QUICKTIME, and the APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT. You should be fine to install the 8.0

yes it stays to 4.26 but all the cydia files still works fine and flawless just like nothing happend. its like a 2.2.1 jailbroken with a 4.26 baseband.

This video is made on the final gold master 3.0 firmware which was leaked a week before the official version came out by apple on 17 June. Apple put a lock in it's official release of 3.0 firmware On 17 June, so that it cannot be downgraded.
Don't worry because official jailbreak of 3.0 firmware is coming out today. And we all will be happy again.

yes yes yes u can.. i update my iphone via itunes to 3.0 and since no jailbreak for windows users yet i downgrade to 2.2.1... i used this video but i have to do some tweks to make it work. now im using 2.2.1 with a baseband of 4.26.08

I was unsuccessful with downgrade and i tried it on all of my USB ports but it was no use then i tried it on my friend's pc and on all usb slots as well but still everytime i got the same 1600 ERROR. What to do now.

im sorry but i did like this 20 times and it hasn't worked for my phone. i went from an awesome jailbroken iPhone to a crap,boring iPhone with this damn 3.0 update. my damn apps dont work now, not AIM,none of my games work, etc. and their all App store apps.. im pissed

If u have iTunes logo and USB logo on ur iPhone screen then put it in dfu mode and press restore in iTunes. You will have then 3.0 firmware. Just one more day and u will definitely want 3.0 then, since u will be able to jailbreak it.

Hi, there friend, if u have upgraded ur iPhone to 3.0, so leave it upgraded, because I have a good news for u, Tomorrow the jaibreakers are going to release a jailbreak for 3.0 officially. And it will have the unlock too. So just one more day and tomorrow u will be able to jailbreak it. I will soon make a video on it. Stay tuned.
If u have black screen on ur phone then press and hold power and home button together and ur iPhone will be back to 3.0 firmware.

I had the privilege to chat with Mr. Emac2299 and he was very accommodating. Walked me through on how to downgrade my iPhone 2G 3.0 Gold Master FW back to 2.2.1 FW unlocked and jailbreaked. I didnt have to watch the video anymore because he was like an online tech support. He also gave me some info regarding the Final Final 3.0 FW by Apple and news on when the jailbreak will be out. Looking forward on your upcoming videos. hopefully jailbreak and unlocking of the official 3.0. Thanks again.

hi ripoll91, This error for ipod touch is usuall. Make sure that you are using Itunes 8.2 which is the latest release. Try it again by switching the usb ports. If you have another computer try to do it with other computer, since sometimes this error interfered usb ports. emac2299, I did exactly what you did and at the point where it says preparing iPhone for restore... my screen doesnt turn white, it remains black and after awhile it gives me an error message 1601, what could be wrong here? could it be that i have itunes 8.2?

Error 1601 is very tricky error, Dont worry it is one of the common ones,. The best way to avoid this error is to downgrade or restore it on another computer. ANd you will get it.

hi there, Itunes usually creates a backup of every iphone and ipod touch. WHen you are done downgrading and your itunes recognise your ipod touch, there you have to select which backup you want to do, It usually gives you an option there just above the 'continue' button. If you dont have a backup then it means your itunes might have not made a backup of your ipod touch. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE QUICKPWN FOR DOWNGRADING IPOD TOUCH. IT USUALLY DOWNGRADES BY NORMAL PROCESS.

Probably it's iPod like what you said emac2299 or maybe the itune is updated? whatever it is I'm glad I downgraded it with no problem. Still thanks for your video emac2299. Erm thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid I commented too early. I didn't know that the error came up even in DFU mode and even though the newest Quickpwn is 2G compatible, it never seems to work on my iPod. Any advice?

Sorry for bothering you again, buit a simple restore using DFU mode is all that is necessary for and iPod touch 2g and my friend tells me that it only affects iPhones, due to changing the baseband. So any iPod touch 2g owners watching have no need to worry, it's as simple as usual. Thanks for responding earlier.

well Pfeffersports, honestly I was expecting the upgrade will enable me voice command system and video camera, but it did not so I am not going to update it. Secondly, Jailbreak for this is not out yet, so lets wait for jailbreak then we can think over this matter.

Almolah, this happens only if ur itunes did not keep a backup of ur iPhone, or might have not syncronised it before the whole process. Keep me informed that how did u make it. Good luck

ok I got it to restore to 2.2.1 after killing all processes that belongs to itunes before running the Quickpwn step but now I cannot restore my iphones from backup, its telling me to upgrade to the latest firmware before I can restore because my firmware is too old!!! LOL how do I fix that?

Almolah, whenever we plug an iPhone or iPod touch, iTunes always keeps a backup of our records. At that point when u r done restoring 2.2.1 and ur iTunes recognize ur iPhone and it gives u an Option 'continue' as shown at the end of the video, there u have to open that backup and select which one do u want, then press continue. If u don't have any of these options, then update it as a new iPhone

with a 3.0 Firmware NON BETA
and it had an error 20
but now when i tried to restore with the same firmware and

Dont worry UAE, it is one of the common problems with itunes, sometimes just switching the usb ports does the trick. I am glad that you did it sucessfully.

These error messages, could be due to many reasons. It could be the USB port , could be ITunes, could be your apple device support etc. If you cannot do it on your computer, try to switch on different computer, YOu will get it for sure.

I can't get it done. Every time i manually choose the 2.2.1 fw iTunes keeps telling me that I can't use it b/c is not compatible. Only let's me choose the 3.0 fw. How can I fix thus or what am I doing wrong?

Well guys I tried this last night about 8 times and I didn't work. Everytime I manually picked the 2.2.1 fw iTunes said it could not open b/c it was not compatible. The restore only worked with 3.0 fw. Now if I hit restore button w/out the shift every steped it this video happened but i kept getting the cable and iTunes logo. I'm guessing cause I didn't pick the 2.2.1 fw. I need to go back to that version I miss my jailbroken iPhone !!!! Anyone else had the same problem?

i figured it out and just so everyone knows .. i followed his steps to the point...but i kept getting the itunes and cord logo instead of the apple logo after doing the 15sec deal..and then 2 sec..
what i did >> i held home and power for 15sec, i let go of the home button and held the power button for the extra 2 sec like he said.. so its really hold home and power for 15sec, release home and hold power for a 2 sec..thanx dude 3.0 sux at the moment im glad that ill get my jailbreak back ..

have u noticed choppyness when opening apps with 3.0 plus this is NOT the final release this is the 3.0 gmc which stands for gold master candinate which means the only thing different about this then the final release on june 17th will be changes made when developers tell apple when they need to change before they release 3.0. Great vid though this really helped me out!
