if you would just shoot with a level stroke it would be a lot easier and dont use any english.

If you don't use any english the 8 ball kicks the cue ball out straight so you have to overcompensate meaning you'll most likely send the eight past the side pocket before the cue ball can get there. If you watch the movie they use right english to achieve the shot. I do agree a little more level cue would help though...
