  • 2 stroke diesel

  • I wonder if this truck came from the factory with a Detroit or if the engine was changed at some point? Detroits in Mack trucks are quite rare

  • What miles per galon ratio this monster have?????

  • excelente vídeo mack es mack camión machetero, para trabajar parejo pero ya eso modelos ya casi no se ven.

  • That roar is music to my ears, almost orgasmic!.

  • BAD driver!

  • What is the location of this video?

Great video. Good driving and good videography. Love the sound.

  • How can you have a golden bull dog when the truck isn't a "pedigree"? Mack engine, trans and diffs is a pedigree and only that truck gets the golden bulldog. Did you put the dog on yourself?

  • vette trucks man, waar rijden jullie?

  • No offense.........but why do they keep showing videos of these trucks overseas? I wanna see American trucks IN America.

  • because overseas exists many people like STP trucks team who appreciate the american trucks, yeah and good for them they are filling the europe with detroits thats a good thing

  • because overseas exists many people like STP trucks team and like me who appreciate the american trucks, yeah and good for them they are filling the europe with detroits thats a good thing

  • @INTIMIDATOR3FAN no offense, but are you afraid to see anything that is not in America? Does the fact that you do not want to see things outside America mean that no-one should show anything filmed outside America? Normally I don't like comments like the one I am about to make, but in this case I'm afraid I can't help but asking: Are you a retard?

  • What's the brand name of the truck in front of the Mack that's seen at :026? I hope there is a video ride along in it.

  • the immortal mack. respect.

  • thats what a big truck used to sound like,,CLASSIC !!

  • i never thought I'd see a big rig with the axle in front of the cab in Europe lol

  • What a sweet noise!

  • Mack, you know, also made their own Diesel engines, like Thermodyne, Econodyne and Maxidyne...all 4-stroke Diesel engines that are nice-sounding.

  • 2サイクルは吹け上がりが良くて気持ちいいねえ。

  • You dont see tomany cabover trucks anymore :(

  • 0:53 What, a Scania??

  • @KapteinOpel Is it no early M.A.N?

  • @KapteinOpel . Yes an old Fire truck Scania

  • kingpin if i ever get my hands on a good ol truck with this engine im trackin you down to tune it man lol

  • i love old bulldog macks

  • Nothing like a doublebreasted yamaha engine in a bull dawg gotta love it

  • going u p the hill sound like a melody truck makers dont make anymore those good engines now engines are made to make money for the dillers not for the drivers sensir computers all of that drain your packet especially the isx cummins

  • get in there you sum bitch!

  • The worlds your oyster with that motor

  • I was into tuning them 71 & 92 series. I can hear the engine brakes on this unit. I remember brazing the return line fitting shut & re-drilling it to .060, Tight racking the injectors so as to have a small amount of override. The air gap had to be at .0015 @ 800rpm. Injector height on that 71 was 1.484 LOL Man! Them was good old days. I think about this as I connect a wireless interface to the MP8 Volvo engine in the 08-09 CHU Mack we now service..Thank you for the great walk thru the past.

  • you knew when a Detroit was in the neighborhood!! did anybody see the 73 cadillac fleetwood going the other way? around 7:17. beautiful truck wish i would see more of the old ones. Cabovers are like gone? where is this btw?

  • @MrRackensack

To me it looks like it's filmed in Belgium. I live there and recognise the region (West-Flanders). Also the number plates are Belgian.

    Great truck!

  • wow they like the Amercian cars back then in Belgium. Cool!! I had a 72 Caddy CDV. that was a nice car. 8-track player with a cassette convertor by Kracko. Good call Menck1!! I knew it was kind of near Germany

  • My goodness....she sounds SO SWEET! I am a die hard brockway and old mack lover....take care of the R700...dont see many anymore! :o(

  • I would love to see some of these old screamers preserved, if only for history's sake.

  • Great old truck !!!

  • these are two stroke engines, what's the millage of theses babys?

  • Great vid! Those trucks are awesome man!

  • i would like to drive one of these trucks some day ... almost impossible, but still dreaming ...

  • There are some assholes here who dont know a REAL diesel engine! Detroits made some of the best engines EVER!

  • You said it. I know of 12v71 Detroit than was in a logging yarder. the operaters said their was something slightly off about it for two years. When they finally tore down the engine, they found out that it has thrown two piston and rod assembelys through the block into the crankcase. It ran like that for two years!!!!! Detroits are tough as fucken nails!!

  • A while ago we had a little tug boat with a 6-71 in it that we turned into a 4-71 cuz it decided to vomit its last two pistons... so the engineer of the fleet pulled the two injectors, both rocker arms, and the valves and she ran... smoked like a son a of a bitch, but never the less ran!

  • Wow, cool stuff! Its dam hard to kill a Detroit Diesel, thats for certain!

  • @wstarcummins they did make the best , 89244TA Silver 92

  • @wstarcummins I personally aren't a fan of the 8v's. I think they are too high pitched, compared to the 12's and 6's.

  • The engine sounds great at 5:20 and 5:38 to 5:50. For all u ingnorant douchebags out there Detroits do not suck. They have an excellent reputation.

  • Your right, Detroit Diesels do not suck, but you have to remember, Detroit's loved diesel. They had horrible gas mileage. So that, and the multiple saddening EPA laws that were passed, is what really killed the Detroit.

  • That's very sad. I hate that Detroit Diesel got bought out and stopped making light duty engines.

  • Yeah, it was a sad day. But, it was also a lot on GM too... They sold Detroit because they saw no further profit gain in an engine that had too many restrictions on it. It was like one of those arrangements that you put too much in, but you don't get enough back out to cover your costs.

  • The newer 4-stroke engines that came out of that merger still have the dependability, and toughness of the old 2-strokes. The power curve, torque, and fuel economy have made the new generation of Detroits a favorite amongst owner-operators, and fleet managers. So the legacy continues.

  • that's good

  • The newer generation is quieter,

more fuel efficient, and has great torque, and the power's good, but i also love the sound of the older Detroits.

  • yes, the old detroits sound awsome

  • @greywolf45

the old 2 strokes.... dependability... HAH

  • Two-stroke engines like the older, and still very well loved "screaming" Detroits are not very clean running, but they are some of the most dependable, and the toughest engines we produced. Sad to see the venerable 2-stroke Detroits put out to pasture, so to speak. At least the new generation of Detroits carry on the legacy of power, and dependability, while improving on torque, power, and fuel economy.

  • That is so random. An American big rig in Europe.

  • Would have been nice to see more of the interior, and the front of the cab !! To bad it didn't have MACK power.

  • i dont know? that detroit sounds pretty good though

  • The first part seems to have filmed in Germany, the second part (from 2:46) in the Netherlands.

The Mack's licence plate looks like it is from Belgium.

  • 萌え☆

  • Where was this filmed. Europe?

  • Sharp lookin Mack, My dad had one it had a 300 mack motor with a single stack Yours looks a lot better with two. I just wish it had a Mack V 8 in it.

  • My dad had two of them in the 80's & 70's. One had a 325 hp mack i think a maxodine? The other had a 285hp mack engine too. What year and size Detroit engine is in yours??

  • you suck

  • @DamnStraightM35A2 ROFL they're a weakling then and an even bigger weakling now. Nothing like working on an old Jimmy and getting covered in oil. Cummins NTC and NTA made these things obsolete. They made real power not just noise. My uncles 1969 Kenworth W925 could snatch ANY 8V71 powered truck backwards. His truck was a 1969 W925 with a 380 Cummins and 16 speed spicer with Dana rears. It was a "real Truck" not some noisy oil leaker that couldn't pull a tooth pick out a club sandwich.

  • @MasterWitchDoctor my dad was a trucker from the late 60's to early 80's, he agrees.

  • that boy would be hell if he knew how to drive it. I owned 2 of them in the 70's.

  • Comment removed

  • the only thing i heard of this video was ur 6.5l v8 engine... from ur car...

  • see 5:28 that is te sound of the engine

  • i want to drive one of this same day ...

  • Olde and the mighty, no truck anywhere will ever sound that powerful. DD-V8's were the best.

  • @allracer96 the best at leaking oil. NTC400 Cummins blew the 8v71s and 8v92s into the weeds.

  • @MasterWitchDoctor an 8v71 would smoke a ntc400 cummins. an 8v92 would make the ntc400 go "FUCK THIS SHIT!!"

  • @SeaDollarsBertram I don't know where you get your info from but a Detroit 71 and 92 series can't pull a tooth pick out of a club sandwich. My buddies 83 359 with an NTC400 blew his frieghtshaker with an 8v92 away so bad he sold the junky thing. Plus the oil leaks were ridiculous and so was the fact that the 8v92 was prown to overheating with any kind of heavy load. In simple terms they're pieces of crap compared to any Cummins NTC of that era. This is why the series 60 was patterned after them.

  • @SeaDollarsBertram The highest form of flattery is imitation, as is the case of the series60. A complete spin off of the Cummins NTC with some minor head changes like the SOHC and computerized fuel injection. Now there is the N14 which murders them with little effort. The series60 is stronger than dirt and the N14 beats the 515+ with no problem. So please learn some about the 71 and 92 series before trying to tell me something when I know better from experience.

  • @MasterWitchDoctor yeah yeah yeah. look buddy, i'm team screamin jimmy all the way. my buddy has a GMC astro with what i believe to be an 8v71 in it. I ain't heard it yet, but my dad said it sounded like hell. like all my old friends say, old age and treachery beats youth and vigor every time. yeah the NTC has more low end, and yeah the detroit's power is like a light switch, but old school is far better in every way. the screamin jimmy cna whip a NTC's ass any day of the week

  • @SeaDollarsBertram only with no load. put 50,000 lbs of steel on a skateboard and run up I24 north of Chattanooga and see how fast your wimpy Detroit climbs Mount Eagle. The 359 with the NTC400 runs up it as fast as it runs down it, he doesn't even have to downshift on the way up and it will hold 70 mph all the way to the top. Try that with any 8v71 or 8v92, i will bet m lfe you might climb it at 30 mph with the wind behind you. Get real buddy, 71's and 92's are PIECES OF SHIT!!!

  • @MasterWitchDoctor These two stroke screamers are very reliable and sound way better than an NTC400. Detroit Diesel Forever!

  • @MasterWitchDoctor Man tell these kids. They have never drove one. DD was made for the US army and others back in 1939 for a low cost, light.and could be run in both cw or ccw so that they would put in all kinds of equipment. 100,000 miles and they had to be overhauled. They leaked so much oil, some people never change oil in them. I've had them and i know.

  • @kennethrobinson11231

Hi, I've been trying to find out what year the production of the DD 6-71 and 8V-71 engines began - any idea? Thanks.

  • @CycolacFan All inline 71's - 1938. All V-type 71's - 1957.

  • @caddy59

thanks for the info and quick reply, much appreciated!

  • @SeaDollarsBertram and FYI I do know his 359 will run well over 100 mph. A 20 speed spicer 2 stick > any fuller or road ranger tranny. LMAO@Detroits, they're only good for marine use and those are twin turbocharged with inter coolers IE 12V71TI like in a 54' Bertram Yacht. Those put out 900hp btw.

  • @MasterWitchDoctor Riight. I've seen 12v71N detroits in a 1973 hatteras, and it ran just over 20 knots. Detroits had a widely known reputation for being literally bulletproof. That's why they've been used in just about every type of application there is; from generators to marine applications, and water pumps to on road engines. they literally can't be killed. crankset in a detroit diesel is designed to take a lot of damage cause they fire on every up stroke. I'm a detroit guy til i die.

  • @MasterWitchDoctor fyi cummins is the biggest pice of shit ever made the 5.9 was the only good engine cummins ever made all haill to the d.d 2 stroke they will run like hell and sound like something from hell

  • @allracer96 I wonder if that Mack was built with the Detroit in it or if the engine was changed at a later date
