I use this scene along with Swordfish Explosion scene at beginning and Car Crash Scene from Final Destination 3 to annoy all my neighboors withing a 2 house radius. I blast these 3 scenes almost to where my speakers pop.
This was an incredible film. I love how Val Kilmer doesn't even hesitate at the beginning when he sees the "heat coming around the corner." Totally consistent with the theme of the film. LOVE IT!
Hell no they should of had a sniper outside the bank to peel pacino and his hoods back like they did at the drive inn. Damn kilmer would of greased that blue to red!
the shootout in the movie was pure fiction. as the movie was released before the north hollywood robbery, any similiarities between the two are a fluke.
Did Waynegrow have anything 2 do with this obvious setup? Neil would have taken it down if it wasnt 4 friggin Wayngro and that bitch. 1 start 2 finish movie 4 sure.
Strange how, if there's a copyright prob, that they'd delete that one and not these. It's guys like you that make YouTube a great place! This is a great movie that never recieved its due. Another good one with De Niro is The Score.
I understand this part of the movie was an inspiration for the real-life bank-job shootout which transpired in L.A. back in the mid-1990s- with the two AK-47 totting guys. That was a hell of a showdown, too!
This movie was actually shown to U.S. Marines as an example of how you should retreat when under fire. Any movie with Michael Mann's name on it is going to have good action in it. Watch the apartment shootout scene in "the kingdom" its almost as good in my opinion.
I just watched this movie for the first time last night. It rivals the shootout scene when the two officers are held up in the motel in L.A. Confidential. The North Hollywood Bank Robbery was almost exactly like this scene, except it actually happened in real life.
I have yet to see such an extraordinary shootout on television. This is by far the best. No special effects (matrix) just good old present day bullet storm.

Magua, Vito Corleone, Michael Corleone, Batman, and Sgt. Horvath. Now that's a combination right there.

Definitely an incredible scene !
And I love how kilmer doesn't even blink before he starts firing.
I used to use this scene to blow away noisy neighbors who used to use powertools at 3 am

Pacino should have been a part of Deniro's gang in this movie. Would have been a much better movie.
