  • I've been looking everywhere for buttermilk, and couldnt find it.. Does it have another name ? Or can I replace it with something else ?! =S

  • No sorry I've tried every recipe on youtube and food network for red velvet and they are all similar but none come out like a great cupcake store that I go to in nyc called sprinkles...nothing even comes close. I wish I can figure out what they put in those cupcakes at sprinkles.

  • @EpaTurtle Well, how else are you going to make RED velvet cake? You could leave it out, but then it's really just a dense chocolate cake.

  • @oceantrolls73 Originally, the color of red velvet cakes came from the reaction between the vinegar and the cocoa powder. Even after the colorant is added, people kept the flour in for tradition's sake, I suppose.There really isn't enough cocoa powder for a chocolatey taste.

  • @taboman no, the red color from the red velvet cake is from beet juice..

  • @angel4038 they taste kinda lik a rich chocolate, a deep 1, but not dark. thtz wat the coco powder was used 4. it's really good, but 4 me, and i gues lotz of ppl, it tastes lik a rich chocolate :)))

  • This was the first time that I've ever baked a cake that wasn't from the box, and these cupcakes were SO GOOD! I made it for my boyfriend's birthday and he LOVED it! I made one substitution though, I made them with all purpose gluten free flour because I have Celiac Disease and they were still SO good! These tasted just like red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles! Thanks so much! And the icing I used was the cream cheese icing from the Philadelphia cream cheese website! Thanks again! :)

  • @KrayGuru @jaminajar916 I'm a ceoliac too! i sucks how we can't eat some foods, but we can always make up for it by baking things like this, and a gluten-free diet is much, much healthier than an average person!!

  • @DTplusPP i agree with @MiFFiL cause the whole point of a bloomin paper case is for it not to stick to the pan, you dont need them to not stick to the cases

  • @MiFFiL We all have our own ways of doing things.

  • @DTplusPP I see no point in adding extra oil just so the papers don't stick. I've never seen anyone do it, nor will I ever. So not worth it.
