480i stands for 480 interlaced, which is why you see some lines in a pixel formation with the movement of the sub.

I understand you may not have this anymore, but just some advice, the batteries are rigged to die completely (the contacts) every month, be prepared if you have it to spend 57.99 (if your lucky) on a small battery pack. Good luck!

Hi, there is no internal memory. On my 2 GB SD card, on the best settings, you will get about an hour of shooting.

Not in this case, its only if you are burning to DVD. This records in Mpeg 4 which works with movie maker and other basic editing software. You need to install the drivers that comes with it.

lol, yes it is, but if u read the video information, it explains all the quality issues. I needed to compress it to fit on youtube. Watch any of my other videos posted after this one. Those were all made with the MX10, very good quality.

Resolution wise, did you pick the one that was recommended for PC only, since you were doing this for showing on the computer?

I am wondering like for family shots, and real important stuff do I pick the resolution for play on tv knowing that I will be burning it to a DVD.

Also Windows Movie Maker gives the choice of burning to a cd, but then that cd will not work in a DVD player right?

I do have a DVD burner. I hear a lot of talk about Pinnacle for movies.

Hi, I use movie maker. As for the res, i always select super fine and 720 by 480P which is standard TV res. Note that you will need a high speed SD card if you want to use the 480P or lines will turn up, or the camcorder will prompt you to use a higher speed card.

I did install Quicktime before I got your reply and it played really choppy in moviemaker. So I uninstalled it. So far, ok. So you didn't use the Power Director program at all? Just Windows moviemaker? I have 2 small clips and it's working ok. Can't wait to use it more.

What format is the video recorded in? I find that there are some that you have to convert files to get them to work decent and then you lose quality in the process.

Hi, the camcorder saves the clips as .avi, and it works beautifully with windows media and movie maker. You just have to install drivers that come with the camera.

All the videos that are after this one (date wise). As noted, the lines and ALL quality defects in this video is due to compression as the original file was over a gigabyte.

That is compressing as mentioned in the video info. The video quality is much better. All of my videos after this one were recorded with the MX10, check those out for how the camera really records.

That i cannot say becuase i have never used one before. But I know for a fact that the Flip has a crappy mic, and no 34X optical zoom.

Oh, that was back when I thought YouTube had a 100mb limit, but it turns out its 1 GB XD. This camcorder can record in 720X480P, so it does take a lot of memory.

Yeahh verry good camera :) perfect quality ;) i had the same but now i buyed Sony HandyCam DCR-DVD109 it's better than this but if u can't efford expensive camcorders samsung SC-MX10 is the perfect choice :) it covers all your needs the quality is perfect good zoom record time is also good etc

Hi, yes this would be a good camcorder for vacation as it has a long battery life, and provides decent quality for DVD burning when in bright areas. It is also very inexpensive when it comes to a camcorder.

I would use more light. A good rule is to use 3-4 times as much light as normal when filming.

Use much more light than needed, that should eliminate the grains. Also, play around with the modes such as tungsten and flourscent.
