okay, so i did the replacing of the case from one of your other videos, but now my touchscreen doesnt wanna work. and everything worked fine before i took it apart to replace the case. i cheaked the ribbon that connects the top plate to the bottom one (thats the only one i had to mess with) thinking that i didnt have it pushed in all the way, and it still doesnt pick up the touch signals. what do i do now?

I put my DS under my pillow before I went to bed and it fell on the floor in the middle of the night. I went to play it, and the screen became all darkened. I decided to open it to see what was wrong, and there was nothing obvious. I bought a broken DS from a friend and put her screen in to see what would happen, and then it wouldn't turn on, so I figured it was something with the motherboard. I put my screen back and her board in. When it turned on the green light flashed for 2 sec. then off

Easiest way to repair you're DS:

1. Go to you local toy store and give the DS to them.

2. Buy another one.

Thank you Supermodchips. I managed to replace the broken screen and got the NDS lite in perfect working order again thanks to your tutorials. The little touch screen ribbon cable was the hardest to fit properly because for some reason it kept not making contact until I plugged it back in for the fourth time or so. Still, kudos to you and people like you who take the time to enlighten us with their knowledge.

my DS lite screen is calibrated WAY to the left and when you try to recalibrate it doesnt stop it has you pressing the red squares for hours and never stops!

lol, man, I did my sisters Nintendo DS commando style, completely changed the casing to a Lime Green, and the top screen (but it has one small blue stuck pixel, maybe it will go away, those bastards). But, those plugs you use to cover the screws, you can't get them :( Anyways, good tutorial, stop complaining that he broke your DS.

I guess you get problems with NDSL because of it's small, frail size...

Standard NDS without the fancy being slimmer, slightly bigger screens and not to mention DSi are a lot better. Sure, they may be chunkier, but I've had mine for three years, and I have never experienced a single problem with it. And no, it has not had an easy life either. Either way, great vid.

Make sure that you remove the insulating backing from your old/damaged screen and stick it to the back of the new one before fitting.

I didn't :( and blew fuses F1 and F2. What will then happen is your DS Lite won't power on and the orange light will flash once only when you put the charger in.

Took me a ages to 'bridge' these fuses with a bit of solder to get it working again. Something so small will brick your DS so just follow this guide step by step and you should be fine.

open it up, and go to the touch screen you see the top screen, and disconnect the top left cable, then put it back in, if that doesnt work you need a new top screen, if the bottom screen is messed up buy a new one and follow the video.
