i thought it was Good, but i wish when u was singin u would have put alittle more emotion into the different parts and u know felt it...and when u went up 2 it...2 me it wasn't a scream it was a loud whistle...and ur right u just dont have pitch control yet and at the end of it its like u just u kno stopped it..but if u would have made it fade it would have beeen glorius..but GrEAT job girl!

I was expecting this to be horrible but it wasnt...until your "whistle".

Now youre a great singer. You basically pulled off a MC song. I was pumped for you. You really did an amazing job.

Until the end...which ruins your whole performance...well some of it. You didn't whistle, you screamed. And it was awful.

Don't do it again.

Just leave the whistle out and you will be AMAZING

This is not only to you, but to everyone saying the same thing as you on youtube.

If i can control the pitch of my whistle and do riffs with it, it is NOT screaming. For some reason people think that because it doesn't sound exactly like Mariah's I'm not doing it correctly. I actually prefer to have a whistle with support that isn't "breathy." I'm glad you enjoy my videos but I don't appreciate your attitude. you can post a video response with your whistle to show me how to do it CORRECTLY.

Problem is, you didn't control the pitch...or very well. You were sharp.

You sounded and looked like you were screaming.

I am just going off of this video. I haven't heard you do this in others so I am not. You didn't do a riff and the pitch wasn't controlled as well as it should have.

Thats why I called it screaming.

Its not an attitude. I'm just calling it how I see and hear it.

I will also say that people scream when they sing all the time. As long as its controlled, its fine.

i totally agree with u..she did a great job singing but at the end...that was not a whistle..yes she can go very high ...she didnt really control it..she just screamed it. Controlling it is being able to add a vibrato in it..and that wasnt there...it was a long "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay" in a scream tone...but she did a very good job singing the song though...like u said..just MY 2 cents. Respectful criticism i guess.

wow, i like the execution of each of your notes, so effortlessly. when i started watching the video i was like "nah .. not that fantastic" but after the second chorus and you did that fantastic run i was like WTH, awesome dude. I agree with gretch165. yours and mariah's whistle is vastly different with the fact that mariah can control the volume of the whistle or the pitch of it somehow. but that was quite impressive ashame it lasted only 2ish minutes. keep it up! =)

minnie and mariah dont have the same tone of whistle. its because they have different voices. but the whistle note must have air. in order to have a more softer tone. listen to mariah and minnie! GHAD! clearly you dont know about vocals!

Hey gretch165! Thanks for your comments. For some reason my whistle is getting less flexible as the years go on.. When i was 15 and 16 it had more air and I could do runs and sing words with it.. but for some reason now the only way to get up there is to kind of push it and then it ends up sounding kind of "screamy." I guess its just because I'm getting older.. but yeah thanks again for your comments!

you're right. Minnie and Mariah's whistles sound different, but they had the special ability to vary the texture of their whistle notes. They could range from very airy too very powerful.

The high note wasn't that bad, just slightly off. The note Mariah Carey's hits at the end is a B6 then down to an A6. You Went up from a Bb6 to a C#7 lol. Good thought.

completely right. theres a difference between screaming and the whistle register. The whistle register is when you can actually sing a line in that high note just scream the note. Like what Mariah does near the end of "Fly Like a Bird"

we are not, well some. yah i must agree that was a scream really. normal audiences can know if its a whistle or not. a whistle note must have air together with the note in order to have a more softer higher tone. try to listen minnie and mariah. and you can also hear mariah's commerical together with her dog doin the whistle.

you have such a lovely lovely voice. I would recomend however you have a classical singing lesson so you learn how to control your coloratura, because although you hit that note, it was really sung. I hope that makes sense. Good luck with everything!

i gotta hand it to her. she's got the bravery of mariah or taking on a song like that. her voice is very interesting and unique. her technique is great as it is but all things considered -- they can be improved to be even MORE amazing. most people are just stuck with nothing to improve on, but i can see this girl improving and flourishing to be something AMAZING. keep at it.
