  • Lol "Heh, I just pointed at my screen."

  • To duplicate an image (just so you don't have to click so many times) you can hold alt and drag and it will make a copy. Set it down before you let your finger off alt, though, or it will just move the object you are trying to make a copy of. One of the best things I learned from my classes, lol.

  • I was able to follow alone up until the end when you got rid of the edge matching guide. I unclicked it but it didn't disappear from one of my layers....I'm not sure what I did wrong...I'll just have to see what it looks like inworld...

  • With all due respect, making a tutorial that lacks a major part of the creation is pretty frustrating. I've watched right to this point, only to find that the 'tutorial' uses a texture that you don't explain how to make. So basically, anyone who doesn't know how to make the shading cannot make this item, or one like it. A bit pointless in other words :/

  • well I wish I can understand, but.. I just buy.. to hard to learn...lol

  • Humorous. I mean, that people buy this stuff. Garbage @ photoshop and you sell your work. It's kinda ironic. That I'm 5 times better and exclusively do things for free I mean :D Not that I play SL or develop on it, no no, but... Just generally :P

  • Where you get the shader Model thing? and I have Corel Paint shop pro X, its good for making clothes too?

  • @MikeAlti2001 You can make clothing in Corel Paint Shop Pro - PSP handles files and the commands are different. You can find some tutorials for using PSP. Maliyah Denimore sells a good shading layer in world at her shop.

  • @MandyliaMeili Thanks for the tip sweety. my avatar name is MikeAres1995 Ragu

  • @MandyliaMeili she sells a baked layer for 1k... when it's an opensource texture and should remain that way.

  • Where you get the shader Model thing?

  • Thanks so much for this - I learned to make something that I would actually wear in world! On to the wrinkle tut !

  • Thanks so much TryblTrtle!!! Finally a tutorial with sound, and at a pace that can be followed and that isn't time elapsed. This was extremely helpful. I'm a new subscriber! All I have is gratitude ))

    Peace

  • If you're looking for some "baked files" try Googling Claire Harford Fake Bake.

  • GUYS STOP COMPLAINING. SHE TOOK HER OWN TIME TO DO THIS TUTURIAL AND ALL SHE GETS IN RETURN IS COMPLAINTS. YOU CAN MAKE DO WITH 1 OR 2 THINGS WRONG- AND IF YOU ASK NICELY, SHE MIGHT MAKE ANOTHER PART ON THE TUTURIAL TO SHOW HOW!!! I think her work is magnificent, and even though she missed a few things, you can still make magnificent things from this tuturial aswell.

  • has anyone found that shaded/baked model? I REALLY need it.

  • Wonderful, thank you so much. A tutorial like this is so much easier than trying to read how to do it. You're awsome!

  • lol when i was making my tutorial, i also pointed at my screen

  • Oh, that wasn't a wasted hour of my life at all... [sarcasm warning]

It's a great tutorial for the first two parts, but in this part you used things from sources that you don't show us how to do. The baking texture for the shades, the wrinkling and highlighting and all that makes the entire three parts useless for us newbs, and if you're not a newb, you'd probably already know the things said here...

Pleace, show us how to do those things too ;)

  • you are awesome!! thank you for your tutorial

  • This explains a lot for me and I honestly have very little experience with Photoshop. (I use GIMP) Thank you for the helpful tutorials.

  • when i try doing this it doesnt select the whole image and its partly transparent, HELP!

  • Comment removed

  • thanks so much and i love ur speaking voice

  • How do you bake in Photoshop...maybe you could do a tutorial on that

  • You're awesome! you helped me develop skills I didn't know I had. Thank you! Plus your voice is SO relaxing :)

  • how do you upload it to sevond life, and can buy like head templats? iwant to make halo 3 costurms.

  • Once i'm done with my outfit, where do i save it to? I know the format and everything just can't find WHERE to save it at, please help. respond quickly?

  • Oh hey, how do you bake? I know what you meant by all that overlay stuff, but for some reason I didn't get the same effect as you. Can you be more specific?

  • Ha ha, You're a very good Tutorialist. You should do more. Even though you're lazy ^-^ I'd really enjoy it ^-^

  • Umm, I'm in Xstreet now and I tried searching it and I couldn't find it. Do you know what is the keyword? And I accidentally pushed the... the.. (thumbs down) thingy. Sorry. LOL. Thanks!

  • LOL! Copy pasting!

  • how did you get the "Nude model" template?

  • Go on yahoo and%2

  • got skills. Gonna try this out. Thx.

  • Where do I get the shaded model texture?

  • I LOVE yr voice!

This is the most enjoyable tutorial I've ever seen. I haven't tried it out yet but I do hope you keep making tutorials.

    Thank you!

  • Quot "i just pointed at my sreen" pmsl sweet

  • You have a beautiful calming voice!

  • Ita A great tutorial... but please please tel us where to get the baked layer or how to make it please ...

    waiting,..... thanks

  • Great job on these. Thought I'd mention that after watching several, I've noticed that no-one is really including instructions for how to bring your completed file into SL and onto your avatar.

  • Simple. From within SL go to FILE>Upload>Upload Image. From there go into Edit appearance and creat a new one of whichever article of clothing you are trying to creat. Drag the texture into the topmost box labeled, oddly enough, texture. Do a save as, and enjoy your new shirt , or whatever.

  • Great tutorials! Thanks Dream. Can you tell us where we can get a 50% grey shaded layer like the one you use for the easy bake technique at 4:35? I would love to have one of those!

  • I believe you can get one from the freebie wall at the NCI Kuula location. It's called "Avitar Shadow Map" or something similar.

  • Hi there..great tutorial. Just one Suggestion for changing the fabric colour instead using the adjustment and saturation. Create a Layer over your fabric, fill with a colour you desire and create a Clipping mask from the layer menu. Way more easier than changing the Adjustments in my Opinion

  • this is what I do too

  • There is no link for downloading your template?

  • Yeah I'm confused too, especially on how are you grabbing it and moving it to the other pattern

  • That is a great Tutorial. Accept.. I don't know how to do this "bake" thing you do. Do you use Blender? And How do you bring your avi to Blender to make that grey deal you have? Cause that would make my life easier.. Since I am new at making clothes...

    Hope to hear from you.

  • In Blender it is in the "Render" area. It's in the same group with "ANIM". There is tutorials on how to bake textures in blender!

  • I just joined SL today. What do you do after you're finished with the clothing designs in Photoshop? How do you use them in SL? I'm sorry for sounding ignorant, I just found your tutorials to be some of the most helpful and figured it'd be better to ask you than someone else.

  • Thank you for sharing .... i hope i manage to get this right!!!

Would also be interested in that shadow texture and how you get details like your bow to work properly ... don´t know how to import them. Could you make another tutorial for that?

    Again, thanks a ton

  • You rock girlfriend!!!!! I can't thank you enough for sharing this with us. I have come across so many information hoards in SL it's crazy! For you to take the time to share this with everyone is so kind and generous of you. Thank you thank you :)

  • where can you get the shadow texture, or can you put tutorial to make it?

  • you are really good at helpign and this is such a brilliant tutorial.>! i didnt know what baking was but ill look around for it thanks again!!

  • you said the lazy way to do baking so I show you im more lazy than you.

  • Lol its a game dawg, maybe u need to focus alil more on ur first life for abit so u dont blur the lines too much....

  • Thank you Leinadr2d2, for essentially stealing my work. Perhaps you should have searched harder for a baked texture, or simply looked up the plethora of tutorials on the internet on how to accomplish such. People like you really make me want to continue helping.

  • This was just what i needed.. thank you for these tutorials. they were very helpful.

  • I'm new to SL and want to get into design. Your tutorials were great, thanks!

  • Is there any chance you can either share the baked grey textures of the models or make another tutorial on how to do this yourself? This has been the best tutorial that i have seen yet on how to make clothes for sl...but without the grey baked texture am still almost where i started at

  • where can i get a 3D male model layout like the female one you have?

  • Those were really helpful videos. And no, you didn't ramble too much! :P

  • That was probably the most useful 3 videos I've seen on making clothing in SL! But yes, please, if you can post up that baked greay template, you'd be helping many designers!

  • Please post that Grey texture of yours? i need them for my clothing and cant find any at all, thx

  • Excellent tutorial! Any chance you'd be willing to share your baked gray layer?

  • FANTASTIC Tutorials. thank you so much!!! I downloaded lightwave just to get the baked model, now i want to try it on everything. Awesome tutorials :)

  • Ahhhh bummer! Nevermind... I can not finish the tutorial after all. Without the ability to create a baked avatar model in a 3D program, I am at a dead stand still and I have been unable to find the shading textures for sale anywhere. This video series is still a good start for a good general overview of what is possible.

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to create these videos. I found these so helpful. I LOVE the shadowing/baking method in the third video. Wow! After muddling through basic (and somewhat incomplete) getting started tutorials - and getting frustrated with them - these come as such a refreshing change. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Perhaps I can bribe you into making more? I have chocolate... I can trade.
